Thing about fostercare is that different parents or relatives are still going to be there for you even if you live in the projects. I know how every foster kid feels. I'm in fostercare at this very moment! I'm sorry for all the kids that are all in foster care.
Why is it that if a child lives with their natural parents and the child dies as a result of abuse or neglect it usually takes hours for an investigation to be completed and people to be arrested...but if the child is in the system and the child dies as a result of neglect or abuse it often takes YEARS until there is an investigation? (If any) Why? Did you also know that NO body can investigate CAS, including the Ombudsman of Ontario?
this is a great video! you did a great job! my husband and i are adopting through foster care :-) we just finished all of our training and have our final home study then we will be a waiting family :-D
im 19 been in care since i was 5 and i never new what love was i got moved round alot and never understood wat love is until now. i have gone threw shit and im tryin to cope. i have an amaizing freind who news what iv gone through. i cry everyday cause all i want was my mum from day one. love u all who helped me
Like I said... This video has definite professional "quality". you can see the love and the effort and tears that you put into this project. It's touching and wonderful!! I especially love the black and white effect! It brings more dramatic meaning to this situation. Again, wonderful and brilliant!
There might be good, sincere foster parents out there, but there are a lot of children who don't need to be in foster care! Family who love and adore them are deprived of flesh and blood because of money, funding feceived by those working for the county and foster parents. These social workers aren't even made to prove thier aligations, and we are not even permitted to speak out in the court hearings - how fair is that? It is a sad day when even our constitution is disregarded - "We the people"
I am not going to degrade this video, I think that despite the "quality", it comes across as professional. You did a great job. I would like to know if these are real Foster Parents, because these kind of people are not typically the majority in what states choose. Children are lain murdered, raped, tortured, in a system dependent solely on the ones derived from DHHS and family courts eager to place a divorcing familys' child up for adoption. It's very , very sad. Which program is this?
thanks for putting this video on line. Love the video. We are considing becoming foster parents. You never know what kind of difference you can make in a childs life until you give it a shot.
CPS steals babies and children from good, loving parents. The big lie that they spend untold sums of money and energy on is this: CPS protects children. CPS does not protect children, it destroys them, and families, and humanity. Do your own research, you will see the truth. CPS lies are destroying innocent, vulnerable children. CPS gets money for every child they rip from their real family and put in foster "care." Don't get sucked into the lies.
While CPS some times do take kids away from families that they shouldnt I can tell you that their purpose is not to steal. Ive aged out of foster care, and my biological mom abandoned me... 3 wks later I went to my first foster home... and honestly I was much happier with them than I was with my biological mother... I was tired of being around her drugs, tired of being around her abusive boyfriends... tell me what child should ever have to go through that? Thats what CPS does protect kids from!
She had first tried "giving me up" when I was 12... she abandoned me at the age of 16 in a whole different city then where I lived. Her reasoning?? "Didn't want the parental responsibility" Any more questions?
@webdev89 - so she tried but was unsuccessful (when you were 12), and then finally gave you up when you were 16? Why does everyone agree that you should have been put in care at around 14, and not say, 12 (since your mother supposedly wanted to get rid of you then anyway).
If by unsuccessful you mean, I want crack more than family, and I want a boyfriend that can beat me... then yes she was unsuccessful. But she was given so many outs from the situation... That to me is like a slap in the face, especially when all she had to do was get off the drugs... and says F*ck you... That's a slap in the face... Also to answer your question on why 14, that's when she got into the drugs.
@phatk3 - what a coincidence, another youtuber with nothing on their channel, popping up to say that their best friend's mom also "gave him up" (gee, just like webdev89 above, what a coincidence). CPS agents are in an uphill battle trying to do damage control - the word is getting out though - CPS is full of perverts and criminals. CPS does NOT protect children. CPS does destroy good families. There is going to be hell to pay, and CPS is damn scared, as they should be.
I'm so glad my mom is a medical foster parent she has been for 18 years i couldn't be more proud. she got me as a foster child when i was little and ended up adopting me i'm so lucky to have found her. good luck to you in life too <3
This video is much appreciated - there needs to be more dialogue and shared experience on this topic. I've uploaded some videos about a book that's coming out (What Else But Home) that deals with many of these issues. Visit my home page and tell me what you think.
Thanks for sharing your video. It would be good to have more of these uplifting video that are related to foster care, but with images that represent the young people in the system. There is a disproportionate number of First Nations and people of color in the system. It'd good to see that in the uplifting video as well.
I am a foster parent and have been for four years. All of the foster parents I know do it because we love the kids. I know, like everything else, there are always going to those who are "bad apples' but if the state is doing it's job with checks and balances, those should be discovered and removed. We believe being a foster parent is a ministry in which God allows us to serve. God bless all the broken children.
I'm in foster care and have been since I was one, I'm now 16. I have been in really good foster homes and really bad ones. I have been loved and I have been abused. Abuse hurts stop it. Abused kids will be scarred forever.
ARE good foster homes. But the government doesn't want good homes. They want homes where someone will take their money every month and keep their mouth shut. If someone TRUELY cares about the child...they will be forced out of the system...
It's not the foster parents that are the Abuser's here...it's the government. They are paid BILLIONS every year. If they have to put a kid in a home that is "less than caring"...money is still there..who cares?
my name is Katie i'm 16 i'm in foster care it will be four years that i have been in care on january 9 it's a blessing and some times a pain in the butt but i wouldn't be the way i am today if it wasn't for the help of my loving foster parents and soical and youth worker thanks for everything you guys i love you very much

i'm so grateful to the kids who posted regarding their positive experience with the US foster care system - it's a relief to know that at least some of these kids r OK - because in our hearts we ALL know the truth: MANY of these kids ARE NOT OK.
what a shame some parents are not even allowed to see their children and not for the lack of love, neglect, abuse or any other reason but corruption, you may not mean to but this I take as you are placing carers and foster parents on pedistals correct me if I am wrong but the majority now are not justified fostering
ive been in four foster homes and all my foster parents were Great .. but i was seperated from my twin sister and she couldnt say the same.. the second home she was placed in was discusting ..and i belive should have been torn down rather than lived in .. they treated thier pets with more respect than the children living in their home .. they had three kids in one room (in the attic) .. and that was a theraputic foster home (which is the lowest level of foster care)
It's a fact that a foster child's chances of being abused/neglected rises to an appalling 70%. This song/video is for the Few, the Rare, foster parent that really does respect, care for and love their foster child.
To the rest: I know Karmic Debt is real and thank the Universe for it! If you damage or abuse your power over a child or anyone, you invite the same thing to happen to you, and it will. Thank God, that it will. . .
Hi My name is Kayla. I am 10 years old and in foster care. My foster parents are adopting me and my sisters. I love my foster parents like my real parents. I cant wait to get adopted. Not all foster homes are bad! Foster care can be a blessing.
Roosiesula, Thank you for letting us know that you are having good luck. May you continue to be blessed with parents who love you, and take good care of you. It's good to hear good news as there is far too little of it these days.
As a former foster parent, I must say I don't believe anyone would do it for money. The money doesn't even come close to the amount spent on the child's needs. But maybe the allotment is different in the US than in Canada...
That being said, the rewards were so great the money was inconsequential, anyway. We formed a bond with a wonderful child for life :)
Thanks for the comment. No i didnt write the song, was originally composed by member of secret garden and made popular by Josh Groban. I was asked by my friend who made the video to sing the song and when he told me what it was for i was truly inspired to sing it. One of my favs too!
As a former foster child, I am so thankful for this. I did have one bad experience, but I had good families that I am close to until today. God is good, and he will guide us all. It is not about the system. It is about people, and what lies in their hearts.
It takes very special people to foster children..my heart and thanks go out to them all. God Bless them! They give foster kids a really great start, when, for whatever reason their own parents can't.
Thanks for being there and hang in. We need all the foster homes we can get. I was greatful for the foster homes I got. There are some who grew up in foster care and not happy soul. I am not one of those and there are thousands of us who are so glad for the foster care we got. Thank you
As tonight is the last night of care, for a child of two years. He will be going back to his family. It was wonderful taking care of him but today court has approved him back to his family....I am happy for him and his family. Tears of joy and sadness flow as I write this. But I know my wife and I made a good differance in his life.
Tomorrow he will be handed back over to his family, I PRAY all will be well for him again.
Thank you for this....this vid...is the reason I am a fosterparent..and adoptive parent...We have had close to 80 children in our home this vid..makes me want 80 more bless you!
Are you for real? You've devestated close to 80 children and are not done, yet? How many other foster parents have had the same children? This video helps you deal with the real shame that you are doing to the children? Do you, honestly, think that those 80 children have the same conviction that you have? They are being tortured, mentally, with the constant moving from home to home. How many children, that you fostered, were reunified with their families? CPS loves you. You make me sick.
All foster parents are not bad foster parents. CPS are the bad guys; but plenty of these children have terrible home lives or were outright abandonded. Should we just institutionalize all of them? Maybe leave them in the forest? Good idea. Try to think a little harder next time! :)
i do have to say i agree with you that not all foster parents are bad. but there are manykids coming out of not so bad homes and being put into not so great foster homes the majority of the time.
Very Powerful video. I am a CPS worker and a children's therapist and it is nice to see some positive reflections. ALthough it is always sad and tragic when a child is unable to be raised by their biological family, I have experienced situations in which chidlren truelly were unsafe and viciously abused. I have had children thank me for gettign thenm out of theri situation and thanking me for giving them a new chance at life.
Thanks for you great comment.. and Yes many kids has went through way more than an adult has ever thought possible.. and if we can only see that our kids deserve the best and we must make every effort to make sure they are safe, happy and ultimately appreciated.
I am curious... Have you every experienced children that should have been with their biological parents but had CAS become difficult and adversarial? Have you ever sat in on any court appearances and seen what may really be happening? That is also an important question. The testimony seems to show the latter may in fact happen more often than most are willing to admit. To many, this is also a sad fact.
Hi rocsox37 I was a CPS worker and a children's therapist. I also was raised in foster care from age 2 up and I was very greatful for foster care. My birth parents father alcoholic and mother drug addict and I thank you and everyone who helped me.
very inspirational! i am currently a foster parent, i have been a cps caseworker in the past and i currently work for a child placing agency. How do i get a copy of this video to present to my foster parents.
I'm overwhelmed in tears.. I too have produced videos for my boys in hopes that they will know HOW MUCH they are loved, this is soooooooooo important. Thanks so much for sharing. Wonderful job!
So glad you enjoyed the video. I was truly inspired when I sang the song for such a wonderful tribute that my friend put together. And yes, it is so important for kids to know they are loved.. ~Eppvids
very well edited Video i am a foster mom of 20 years i have had over 40+ kids i think watching your Vid made me really see what i have done in 20 years was worth all the pain and hurt i recieved because in the long run they got so much more back LOVE and More Love
Yes. there is no greater love than the love you can give to a child. This was the purpose of this video was to keep the important things in front.. and that is a child. Thanks again for your comments.. ~Eppvids
My parents both died in a car accident when I was 6 months old.
Finally after 12 years in a care home, I got the best Christmas present anybody could ask for...

Roosiesula, Thank you for letting us know that you are having good luck. May you continue to be blessed with parents who love you, and take good care of you. It's good to hear good news as there is far too little of it these days.

good video but it shows everyone smiling and having a good time. For many of us who grew up in the system smiles were far from the reality.

yes I agree whole heartedly with you the majority are only fostered for the money and a lot are abused
mothersforjusticeAU 3 years ago

Thank you to all who foster these young souls.
God Bless them.

Thank you...
Oh GOD I pray.

You make me sick.
daaronad 3 years ago

Kids in Foster care have often already been through so much in their short lives.
They just need someone or a family to care about them and make them feel safe.

I was in care and when they couldn't "Find me a home" They ditched me on the streets. I could read or write and had no life skills.
Where I joined countless others like myself on the streets... were most of us seem to end up.
A few good homes is not worth risking the rest of our lives.

Now if only Child Protection Services would stop lying to get these children in your care, that would be best for the innocent children and familes.
