this is fake. They obviously took the dog out of the cage to film it being rubbed and loved by this family then put it back in the cage after... ?? So it obviously isnt that bad its guilt tripping people into buying nasty dog food.

here is what i did and yes this really happend when i got an new apartment they did not take dogs so i yelled and said fuck you my family are going to an other apartment that allows dog so i punched the guy cause he was about to take my dog

I had to move into an apartment, but I still kept my 2 large dogs. Sure it makes life more difficult, but I committed to taking care of them when I adopted them. I will NEVER give my dogs up, they are the best friends a person could have.

i use to live next to a town house where they didn't allow dogs. Now they let dogs and any animals live there since they went on strike! I thing people who love in apartment should get a dogs and mangers of the apartment should let them!

This actually drives me nuts when I hear about people giving up their dogs cause their apartment doesn't take them. It's a horrible excuse. Look for an apartment that does.

I took a dog I found to the an animal shelter, and she looked a lot like Bailey, except her name was Hershey. I miss Hershey! I hope she got adpoted. :'( Anyway, these commercials are very touching and I feel like people are moved by them. Now, why don't I see them on TV often? It would make a great impact! :)

I volunteer at a shelter and have witnessed a similar situation. An older woman couldn't afford her house or to take care of the dog she loved so she had to move to a small apartment and it didn't allow dogs. She brought her dog into the shelter and I watched her leave through one of the windows. As soon as she left the building she took a few steps and then knelt on the ground and cried. It was the saddest thing I've ever witnessed.

I wish that developers of real estate would also consider building homes that can accept dogs. There has to be a way if they would just put their mind into it. With the number of residences at the high rise increasing, they should also think that dogs should not be left behind. As for the families who leave their pets behind, that's the most unfair and unjust thing they do it's not an excuse to leave our four legged friends. It just proves that once you have a dog, they are with you for life.

If you get a dog, you are getting a life long FRIEND, FAMILY MEMBER, and LOVING COMPANION. Don't give that up. Don't you see what you would be putting your animal through if you gave him/her up? Ok, so you move into an apartment. FIND ONE THAT ALLOWS DOGS. What if that apartment didn't allow children? You wouldn't give THEM up and risk THEIR lives, would you? These animals are your children, family member. Treat them like it. Stop animal abuse. Thank you. :)

They are the same case and point. An animal is a living breathing creature who deserves just as much love and respect as any human. If you wouldn't do it to your child, you shouldn't do it to your pets.

@ditzydee1 I would never leave my dog in a kennel, he's like a kid to me.  It doesn't matter if anyone thinks that kids and animals aren't comparable. The only thing that matters to me is my feelings towards my dog. I know my own feelings, no one else can know them, and I don't care what people think.

It kills me when I hear people say this... A dog is a LIFE LONG commitment, period. You move to an apartment you move to one that ALLOWS DOGS. I did in Colorado, Minnesota, and California and that was with a 120 rottweiler! If I can find a place to live with a 120lb dog let alone a rottweiler you can find a place to live with yours too. I would NEVER EVER EVER give my dog up! Dogs are not disposable and those people that think they are don't get one!!! its that simple

What kind of person would move and leaver their dog in a shelter? Personally, I wouldn't buy an apartment that didn't take dogs. I would just move on. At least find an owner before you move instead of dumping him in the shelter.

I live in Miami, and when Hurricane Wilma was threatning they were warning of a possible evacuation in our area. But my family and I were adament that we would not wait the storm out in a shelter unless our dogs could come with us.

Hi, Bailey's story is sad, but now she's been adopted by our family and She is doing fantastic and we love her so much. So don't worry she's happy and home now :)

people being a) evicted from their last home and or b) people who want to move into a nice neighborhood for their kids. People have good a legit reasons to put dogs up for adoption, and at least it can be adopted now, and wasnt just killed or something...

I'm going to have to agree with linkin here, I love dogs but lets be serious in today's world where property is hard to come by, sometimes you gotta give things up. It could be the difference between being evicted and living in the streets, or living somewhere. Its stilll sucks though, because so many dogs have to be misplaced because a good amount of landlords don't except them
