pt 3 garret if u need to change the ignition modual make sure u put the white paket of gresey stuff that comes with a new modual . if u get a used one dont wipe it off or it will fail once agin . hope those pointers help u . and yes the ignition modual will cause the car not to start or ever stop running when the engines warm and not start till it cools a bit .

These 3 comments are 100% correct. This coil type is called a TFI-IV module (thick film integrated). The ICM is usually (but not always) on the side of the distributor. The ECM controls the entire engine and is usually behind the firewall. The ECM sends signals to the ICM via a SPOUT (spark output) wire. Always disconnect the SPOUT wire to set base timing.

part 2 there is also an ignition modual thats located on the buttiom of the distributer the modual plugs into the pick up coil inside the distributer those could be things to look at there garret

that device that ur talking about is called the ignition coil and the wire goes from the coil to the distributor

Thanks for the help Garrett! I'll have to change that connector then. I do know my wires are good, the Dist cap and stuff are good too. I'll try and change that today or tomorrow....thanks again!
