Thank you for this. Wish there were more like you. The only way it to change legislation to protect local shops. This needs to be done by defining what it is about an area that makes it attractive. Shops like Angelo's need to be identified on a plan. In the UK the better local authorities try to protect these smaller establishments in for example Conservation Area Appraisals so that their importance to the local character is defined and then less likely to be given up to the developers.

Great video. I suppose if somebody out there had the organizing talent to lead it, we could all get together and boycott the businesses that replace the Fontana Shoe Repairs of New York. But I think the leaders have to give us specifics.
