The champion jouster of Canada INSULTED the American champion jouster, in Texas, and they went at it-- full out, full contact, as in the days of olde.
interesting point, but how is two men dueling leaving it in god´s hands ? isn´t it more that one has accuracy and speed and the other obviously doesn´t ? how does "god" get credit for that victory ? you may as well say the easter bunny decides....
I'm curious to know, since you both feel its fine to kill a man for cuckolding you, what punishment do you think should befall the wife in that situation? That's the trouble I have with so much of the romantic, chivalrous sentiments never seem to take into account female wrong doing. In my view, the wife made a vow to be faithful, so the far greater betrayal is hers and not the man who has promised you nothing. The greater punishment should be hers.
@heyyoubeindthebushes Back then women didn't have equal rights and the freedoms they have now, so they weren't as culpable.
You can still challenge a man to one-on-one, non-lethal combat, it's legal if both parties agree. Making him taste his own blood, bruising him and knocking out some teeth is pretty satisfying.
@jackburton2009 That didn't answer the question, at least directly, and I think he has a good point.
"Making him taste his own blood, bruising him and knocking out some teeth is pretty satisfying." It's also disgusting, in my opinion, to get satisfaction out of that.
Also, why wouldn't somebody analyze and figure out WHY the woman cheated, instead of being a knuckle-dragging retard who thinks that it has nothing to do with himself, and everything to do with the other man.
@KingFahtah If it were confined to gentlemen only it might have some relevance. However there are too many lowlifes in the population. I mean what does some mentally ill, sub-100-IQ criminal have to lose by challenging say a successful CEO to a duel. It doesn't work in today's society.
@jackburton2009 Yes I see your point. A lot of things in today's society are not compatible with concepts of a more genteel age, gentlemanly conduct is an alien concept to many.

I witnessed a REAL joust.

Yes, the Texan cleaned his clock.

If there were any Men of Backbone in the Federal Government, there would probably be lots of duels.
They would potentially have an Aaron Burr Dueling Society near Capitol Hill.
What matters more than Honor?

@heyyoubeindthebushes Well it's not like you can harm a woman. It's really your only option.

@CapnConfederacy See the last part of my comment. I really don't see how dueling is the only option. It really made me laugh though.

I like what you gentlemen say about duelling, but the law of averages... if we had duelling....I'd be well dead before now :)
