They say you need to be crazy to be a goalkeeper. It is true. Just imagine one on one situation. And you know that the player shot is powerful like roberto carlos. Well u need a lot of courage, determination and mental strenght to keep out those kind of shots. thumbs up to all those legendary goalie. Yashin, Pat jennings, Gordan banks, etc. etc.. if not for them there won't be new future legend coming up in the molds of buffon, casillas, reina, joe hart... etc..
im a goalkeeper and when someone says you should of got that... how about you try catching a fast ball and diving and trying to catch it and see how good you do ?
the story of life for a keeper: train in the mud, go and make 1 mistake in a game and ur teammates doubt your playing ability as well as your coach. make a great save at the end of the game to keep the other team down and recieve wat, a pat on the back. thumbs up if you think that keepers are underapreciated.

Goalkeeps still make pretty sick saves. I'm a goalie and I know how it feels to be back there. any save is a good save, unless it just rolls to you..then you really out no effort into saving the ball lol

if you notice all of the clips are quite old, nower days the strikers are soo accurate and powerful its even hard for keepers to make saves, you rarely see very good saves any more, which is a shame :(

A goalkeeper can be the best in 89 Minutes but if he get's a goal in the 90 minute he will be the worst and the players is the opposite , A football player can be the worst in 89 minutes and if he scores in 90 minute he will be the Man of the Game .

Goalkeeper is without a doubt hardest position on the field. If the forward scores one time but misses ten times, everyone is happy because he scored the goal. If a goalie saves ten balls, but misses one, everybody will say: "he had to save that one". It's unfair, but that's what you get when you choose for the best spot on the field

The description is 100% correct. Goalkeepers almost never gets any glory though they would save the day. In 2008, Iker Casillas was without a doubt the best GK in the world, still ranked only as the fourth best player (Which is still really great). But as ianmogab said, outfield players play misplayed passes, waste glorius chances, gives up battles too easy; A GK never gives up..

Also with penalty i've saved about 7/10 i have faced all i do is just walk around the penalty area a bit and start sayin stuff to the player to try and psyc him out.

I am goalie for my school soccer team..and I know what you mean. They score and it is all your fault. You make a save and no one notices but someone scores and they are right in the goal box and they still get all the glory?? Goalies just need to remember- if they aren't on the team....their team is screwed!!! BTW- Love the song!
Thank you for posting this video. I'm a keep as well, and I know exactly how it feels. It always feels like whenever they score, I failed in my job. Even when it winds up being a five on one ruse (which has actually happened to me) everyone still expects you to block it. At the same time don't know if there is any greater feeling than making an insane save that defies physics and logics.
ianmogab:im a goalie but i kick the penaltys and free kicks and i get almost every match credit for doing great saves but we deserve more glory not only if we make a spectacular save and stuff but also if we go in a duel and get an elbow in the face and still catching the ball and also if we lose the keeper gets blamed while he kept so manny poitns in other matches for his club
im a defender, i think we deserve some love as well. my goalie(i think of him as my capt) is always telling me "good job", my team won 4th round semi-state in Indiana. we were really good, now im in college though.

then as hes running up stick my arm right up and down a few times and tbh most of the time the player will miss or it will be an easy save for me. The key is to psyc the over player out while you yourself are really cool.

a goalkeeper making a great save is like a striker or midfielder scoring a great goal. But which player would get the most acknowledged at the end of the game. Think about it. Also with penalty i've saved about 7/10 i have faced all i do is just walk around the penalty area a bit and start sayin stuff to the player to try and psyc him out.

HOLY SHIT 1:58! I got fricken goosebumps that was an unbelievable save coming from an unbelievable shot. That is the best save I've ever seen. Im so happy, I LIVE TO BE A GOALTENDER! Saving the team.

I am goalie for my school soccer team..and I know what you mean. They score and it is all your fault. You make a save and no one notices but someone scores and they are right in the goal box and they still get all the glory?? Goalies just need to remember- if they aren't on the team....their team is screwed!!! BTW- Love the song!

im a keeper for my city team, and any penalty save that a keeper makes should never be forgotten. a keeper has a 90% fail rate on a penalty kick.

Thank you for posting this video. I'm a keep as well, and I know exactly how it feels. It always feels like whenever they score, I failed in my job. Even when it winds up being a five on one ruse (which has actually happened to me) everyone still expects you to block it. At the same time don't know if there is any greater feeling than making an insane save that defies physics and logics.

ianmogab:im a goalie but i kick the penaltys and free kicks and i get almost every match credit for doing great saves but we deserve more glory not only if we make a spectacular save and stuff but also if we go in a duel and get an elbow in the face and still catching the ball and also if we lose the keeper gets blamed while he kept so manny poitns in other matches for his club

im a defender, i think we deserve some love as well. my goalie(i think of him as my capt) is always telling me "good job", my team won 4th round semi-state in Indiana. we were really good, now im in college though.

Well, in my opinion, if a goal's scored, the defenders made the biggest mistakes. Keeper bloopers excluded though.

So next time do us goalkeepers a favor and don't blame the loss solely on us and maybe even give us a little credit if we help in a win.
