Today I'd like to dedicate this song to the the victims of the terrible tragedy in Ballycotton, Co Cork, Ireland - where two little girls and their father lost their lives. May they rest in peace and may god be with their family and friends. I dont know these people personally, but it was a real sad tragedy.

@brainburger You seem to want to put the blame on the one that gave us "Choice". Look to the people who abuse children for your answer. When you give life freely do you expect to rule that life for ever?

@brainburger Part One: Im not the best as making sense. But comes down to free will, our ability to choose between wrong and right. It goes all the way back to Adam & Eve. IfGod were to stop everything , like in this case child abuse, the world would be "perfect". But free will and inherent perfection can't coexist. Because, if we had no capacity for evil..and/or if God stopped all evil as soon as it started to happen....how could we choose to be good?

@brainburger Part 1 : I'm sure there are others out there who could explain this more logically, but it's the best I can do right now. If there was no abuse or evil there would be no perfection, the two can't coexist.,
God allows us to create our own evil. We live and die with those choices. Are people unwilling or unable to prevent child abuse? If you knew it was hapenning would you intervene or just keep walking? It's not Gods fault.

@agabriandt You think this is a good song? It's just "Auld Lang Syne" appropriated for a Christian prayer. It's typical of the uncreative nature of Christian music! Radio stations don't avoid this stuff out of some sectarian hatred of Christians...it's just BAD, insipid music. And why go on worshipping an Angry Whipping Jesus (John 2:15)? Doesn't the penny drop and you realize a violent man can't be a role-model, that all the brainwashing in the world doesn't make Jesus good?

When i hear this song i must always cry, so beautiful! When i heard this for the first time, when it was released in 1999, i was totally blown away and i bought about 10 singles of it! Even my mum, who sadly passed away last year, LOVED this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People are just too carnal nowadays ; and a song so simple and true like this, sung by the good boy of pop irks them real bad into mouthing obscenities.
It's not in the normal course of current thinking to appreciate 'creeps' like Cliff who will not compromise and make them glad.

@SCGstag15 Having done some research! ... Burns did NOT write the music that Sir Cliff uses! Burns did in deed write the excellent words of Auld Lang Syne, but he did NOT compose the music! Excellent performance from Sir Cliff! How many other world class singers get disabled children involved in their act in such a politically correct way? Long live Sir Cliff Richard!

@lincsposter - At what point did i say disabled people shouldn't be used in music? With the opinion of Cliff that i have formed, i am questioning his reasons for bringing these children on stage. Cliff has sold several records over a long period of time, but so have the Spice Girls. Sales are not the same thing as credibility. Cliff wishes to be taken seriously as an artist performing good music, he never will. As for his Mill record that 'embodied ALL people' i have to disagree. Thats ubsurd.

I have listened to Sir Cliff since i was knee high to a grasshopper(not much bigger now lol) but he is genuine in what he believes and brings a humble humanitarian feeling to this world, this song always reduces me to tears,, sung with such conviction, long may he carry on, an inspiration to all.

me personally, i have no religion, i know this world man... lies, corruption, conspiracies etc, those shady people behind the government... only way ill believe there's a god is when i see him myself, and not read about him in a book, to me thats not proof enough that he exists, whether it be jesus, allah whatever... but im happy, i dont need religion to be happy.
