@xme71 They aren't legal in the U.S. period. The only way to get one here (legally) is to buy one that was legalized my motorex. People have gotten them into Cali or other states by using so-called "loop-holes" like registering it as a kit car. They might trick the DMV like that, but it's still illegal. In fact, the Feds have been going through California and crushing illegally imported or registered GT-R's lately. Just search "Feds seizing illegal Skyline GT-Rs in California" in google.

Its because the skyline in this video isnt stock. A stock skyline would lose lol.. Stock skylines have about 320 hp stock this one has 700hp and the engine has been bored out to 2.8L so more torque. Although just upgrading the ceramic turbos in the skyline to steel ones and increasing boost the car can take about 600bhp and stock turbos can take about 10 psi before the turbines wear out too quickly.
cheaper, i doubt. most TVRs are made of plastic and come with no safety equipment what so ever, So not only is it as light as you would desire a car to be its rather quite a bargin. Though i could be wrong i wasn't able to fine the prices of that time. Id still rather have the TVR it is just such a raw car and is as race car like as cars get i mean 2400-2600 pounds with 420hp. its still rather crazy

Secondly, this car is comparable by age to the R33 and R34 GTR. A Clean, unmolested example with similar mileage is £15k an R34 is £20-35K.
And these comparable GTRs are bone stock. A 700BHP R34 will set you back £40k+

@xme71 They aren't legal in the U.S. period. The only way to get one here (legally) is to buy one that was legalized my motorex. People have gotten them into Cali or other states by using so-called "loop-holes" like registering it as a kit car. They might trick the DMV like that, but it's still illegal. In fact, the Feds have been going through California and crushing illegally imported or registered GT-R's lately. Just search "Feds seizing illegal Skyline GT-Rs in California" in google.

lol, 350 hp advantage of Skyline, and still it was a close call. Not to mention that Vicky is far better driver then Clarcson (if they were once that were driving after all...) Stock on Stock = Cerbera would wipe te floor with Sky. Modified on modified = same result. :)

I find it hard to believe that a TVR would be a better drive than one of the worlds best performance cars. Remember the GTR would be a much older car than the TVR. Imagine comparing a new TVR to the new GTR!

That was obviously not fair. 700 bhp turbocharged engine vs. NA with less power output. That TVR was keeping up with it though. It was like a second behind. TVR has skyline beat in looks department.

Its because the skyline in this video isnt stock. A stock skyline would lose lol.. Stock skylines have about 320 hp stock this one has 700hp and the engine has been bored out to 2.8L so more torque. Although just upgrading the ceramic turbos in the skyline to steel ones and increasing boost the car can take about 600bhp and stock turbos can take about 10 psi before the turbines wear out too quickly.

cheaper, i doubt. most TVRs are made of plastic and come with no safety equipment what so ever, So not only is it as light as you would desire a car to be its rather quite a bargin. Though i could be wrong i wasn't able to fine the prices of that time. Id still rather have the TVR it is just such a raw car and is as race car like as cars get i mean 2400-2600 pounds with 420hp. its still rather crazy

It was a 700bhp tuned car VS a 450bhp (or somethin like that) factory car. What was the point.
Strip out the TVR and tune the engine up into the 700's and then it would have been a race.
