  • Wish these SSEs wern't to hard to find on the west coast...

  • Man, dude, I think you're right! It's Captain Picard! Do they have Bonnevilles in the 24th century?

  • Is it me or was that Cpt. Picard?

  • Them seats look comfortable!

  • I like these old Pontiac commercials from the late '80s/early '90s. Pontiac did always try to be a little different from GM's other divisions, refreshingly different.

  • Look at that steering wheel 0:04. Pontiac engineers: "F an airbag. BUTTONS!"

  • these cars are rare, and well built. too bad pontiac dident produce more. They have more features than any other car from 1991

  • in its day it was realy a top of the line car

  • holly crap was that Patrick Stewart on the promo!?! lol

  • 'every controll thoughtfully placed' so they put 9000 buttons in the middle of the steering wheel

  • @tremer88 OVER 9000!

  • @tremer88 I suppose it's better than jamming an entire computer keyboard on the steering wheel.

  • @KhakiBlueSocks id rather have that instead haha

  • Make it so, Pontiac. Engage!

  • it takes you where you want to go if you specify coordinates and say "Engage!"

  • One of the best models Pontiac ever made...Overall Top 3.

  • THE 1991 PONTIAC ENTERPRISE!

  • I thought it was a fine German car until I blinked.

  • Warp Speed!!

  • Never doubt 1980s GM!

  • Captain Picard FTW!

  • i know the economy is bad but does anyone think when it gets better that they will bring pontaic back again??

  • @Bigroberto2008 I hope so, The Prix from 90 to 97 was my favorite model brands

  • The controls on that steering wheel are NOT thoughtfully placed!

  • Ugliest seats...looks like someone just enlarged a bag of packing peanuts.

  • @snotbowst

Those seats are great! Look very cool IMO and are super comfortable.

  • I didn't know Captain Picard drove a Bonneville. "Engage!"

  • Jean Luc Picard. What a voice. Was he captain of the Enterprise when this was recorded?

  • yes he was.

  • @BMan100 Had an 88 in white. It was a great car!

After listening to this ad again, it makes me want to call my xwife up and buy it back from her! Okay, maybe not. LOL!!!

    They were a cool car.

  • @Miradart yes im quite sure TNG was still on

  • im going to miss Pontiac.. of course most people now get some random ass mazda or toyota.. take that shit back overseas...

  • jon luc!

  • Thanks Captain Pickard!

  • Does anyone know who GM sold Satarn to?

  • Saturn got sold to Penske Auto Group owned by Roger Penske.

  • Thank you so much my friend. I didn't know if Saturn went "Belly Up" like Pontiac & Oldsmobile before it.

  • and hummer went to japan

  • that deal fell through. Saturn R.I.P.

  • wrong wrong wrong. Penske backed out and now saturn is most likely being scraped. It wont really be missed but they did have some cool cars. The problem is too many 50 to 60 year olds bought them haha. Pontiac may be sold to a dealer owner who wants to take over the brand and closed factories

  • by the way i purchased this car long before Carfax.

  • I had a 90 SSE, white with sandlewood leather, all the gadgets as if i were driving an airplane. The V6 was great they didn't make the SSEi yet so no supercharged motor but it was fast. Unfortunately the car was in an accident before i bought it, the dealer of course didn't tell me (i don't know if he even knew) i found out 3years later that the frame was cracked and i kept wondering why i always needed motor mounts anyway i sold it to a dealer. Did i tell the dealer?....................

  • RIP pontiac

  • Thats the guy who was Captain Picard in Star Trek generations.

  • DAMN!!! if only they made them that way today!!! i love how plush those leather seats look/feel! the old saying is true they just don't make them like they used to!!! i love GM and am so sad to see pontiac go! i heard rumors though that they may try to sell off saturn intstead of ousting pontiac but idk if thats true or not

  • I think this design was used for the 1992 oldsmobile cutlass as well. They look a lot alike

  • R.I.P. Pontiac

    1926-2010

  • pontiac is not dead its just being sold

  • Sorry but I am afraid Pontiac will dissappear like Oldsmobile!!!!

  • RIP Pontiac

    1926-2009

their last US sold model was made Nov 25, 2009 and last Canadian sold model in Dec 2009.

  • i think the last one to roll of the assembly line was a white G6

  • I believe so.

  • @chaseman94 yes , I agree to that!! The G6 was the last model to roll and I remember the price drop of them that last year!!!!

  • no it is dead (sadly). GM is not selling the brand but phasing it out altogether.

  • You under estimate smart business men. Pontiac stood for one thing and that was performance. However, GM doesn't space apart their lines enough so everything looks and feels the same. They may phase it out but someone will offer them a lot of money due to the fact that it is an easily salvageable brand. GM would take the offer to because they are desperate

  • @budw84 Pontiac as a true carmaker died somewhere in the mid to late 1970's. From that time on right up to the miserable end, it was a just marketing division that sold rebadged Chevrolets.

  • @budw84 The best car company!! :(

  • By this time it was too late! Japanese car companies already had equal American car reliability and even surpassed it! The Japanese had the edge for the first time! And American companies didn't do anything solid to compete!

  • The way the Japanese cars rusted out during that time period was a testament to their quality and reliability.

  • Yep! But they dont rust anymore!!!! Sorry but the American car industry is down & out rigth now!!!!

  • They don't rust because they are made of mostly plastic.

  • man i wish my steering wheel had 20 buttons on it. damn air bag taking up space

  • ah who needed airbags back then lol.

But seriously, air bags were a new technology back then and were not required. I drive one of these and they are solid steel and can hold up well in crashes. I love my Bonnie.

  • Acura steering wheels have over 10 buttons. But they also have damn small airbags that ain't gonna protect any decent sized person from the steering wheel. Those crash test dummies are pretty scrawny.

  • for 1991 thats an advanced air bag

  • That was patrick stewart...wtf...Thats awsome. Id think the bonneville has warp drive though. ha, But they are quick.

  • make it so......ENGAGE!!!!!

  • Radio steering wheel, cool.

  • @Halo3lov3r I beg to differ because I got into a accident with a model of that year and to replace the steering wheel with the radio/cruise/and airbag was a hot dam 1200 dollars alone pinned to my insurance bill!!!!

  • I would probably buy a turd in a box if Patrick Stewart said it was good but this car is really a piece of crap on wheels.

  • well i drive a piece of crap on wheels that now has 290'000 miles and that never broke down. What is a good car to you, then, i cant figure out :)

  • He's just mad, because he's never owned the awesomeness of a Bonneville

  • haha definitely

  • They`re good cars. Only problem my dad had with his SSE was a blown fuse once in a while.

  • haha...you don't know what a good car is.

  • This is the best version of the H Body cars..it really shows how Pontiac can take a boring basic GM design and make it look so much better..my grandfather had a 89 SSE..it was a great car

  • i could seriously listen to a continuous recording of Patrick Stewart saying 'Nineteen' for 3 days straight...

  • Endorsed by Patrick Stewart? Good enough for me!

  • Car may have been ok but the interior was horrific. Acres of cheap plastic. I think GM started trying to copy BMW interiors instead of being original.

  • This was the ultimate crack mobile back in the day. Drop it to the ground, stretch out the wheels, get some gold rims, get the cheap blow-dry on saran wrap tint. That baby is good to go!

  • make it so

  • I drive a 1990 Bonneville and I love it, I never have problems with it. GM really put this car together well, fit and finish.

  • i still have my 1990 SE i love it too much to sell it lol i've had the car since i was 16, the car was a gift for helping someone fix a kitchen floor came with a new transmission, since i've had it only put $450 if not less in it, not bad for a car thats as old as me lol

  • ugliest steering wheel ive ever seen other than that its nice

  • remember in those days, that was advanced technology, having controls right at your finger tips no reaching involved. This was back when airbags was also a NEW technology.

  • Full-size? Hardly. But a really nice car anyway.

  • Those Bonnies were full-size. Interior space was on par or better than in a Caprice.

  • This gen of bon was actually similar in size to the Chevy Celebrity, not the much larger Caprice.

  • This type of Bonneville was in fact very nicely put together. The interior is one of the nicest GM made back in the 90`s. Nicely crafted seats and a lot of soft materials for a smooth interior.

  • My grandpa owned one I love these "big boats" a friend of mine has hit a deer twice with his and it is still going!! That shows in pontiac's durability!!

  • what a motivating commercial. it focuses on the perfectly sowed seates and greatness of the bonneville

  • I remember when this aired! oh wait i was a baby!!!!!

  • Cool...cool ride back in 91!!I loved this car and the Olds Trofeo...they had some character!

  • Wow, I can remember this commercial when it was on the air. I feel old now :(

  • although for an american car from that era... it wasn't bad... i would't have killed myself if i had to own one like so many cars in general back then... i mightve even enjoyed it

  • It was quite a good car and very well built too. My dad had one and was very happy with it.

  • I never realized Stewart did a car commercial. I bet the whole time he was thinking... "Ha Ha Ha... my starship would rape this thing"

  • How embarrassing for Patrick Stewart. The Enterprise was not front wheel drive!

  • Is that Patrick Stewart (Captain Pickard) talking to us?

  • i never really understood all the buttons on the wheel. you'd think you would get confused.

  • PATRICK STEWART! Your voice rules.

  • It's Patrick Stewart, you can check it on IMDB

  • My dad had a grey 91 SSE. I loved it!

  • Aww, makes me want mine back :(

  • Is that really Patrick Stewart? That's hilarious!

  • That steering wheel would suck to be hit in a crash.

  • @whattheheck1000 yeah I totally agree my accident with my car at that year cost me 1200 alone just to replace the steering wheel!!!

  • That's a steering wheel or a remote control??

  • that car brings back memories i had the same car a white color one

  • ENGAGE! to your dealer!! Make it so, Patrick Stewart.

  • If one of those was parked along Holden's 1991 equivalent, the VP series Commodore, it would look boxy...

  • It's Captain Picard!!!!!
