Some people must be making a whole crap-load of money keeping the prohibition going. To pass up that kind of potential for money making is absurd. And I don't see how some of the greediest people in our country don't take advantage of this kind of potential.
What harm is it? They never seem to come up with anything true that justified making this plant illegal. Imagine all the jobs it could create if we cultivated & grew the plant here in the US rather than having other countries grow the fibers. I am terminal cancer patient & right now it helps w/ appetite & dehydration. I feel that I would have died if I had listened to doctors & cont. to use those other drugs; but they didn't work. Cannabis is a blessing; I am alive nearly 8 yrs later.
yet if you were to grow marijuana in large quantities and sell it by the gram for a much cheaper price than the in house grower you could ultimatley dispose of any home grower without lifting a finger and simultaniously make a proffit. Imagine a time when you could walk into any gas station in the USA and pick up a pack of weed. Healthier than cigarettes due to the lack of pestisides and harmfull chemicals. Youd pay the man ten dollars and walk outside and light up. A very profiable product.
That would come with the inevitable degradation of the product itself, which is why I don't support your theory at all. Look to what industry has done with tobacco for an example.
Let's leave monopolies out of this and let people grow their own plants. There's no need to support anyone getting filthy rich exploiting a weed which is practically easier to grow than not to.
I am currently going through the court system and I have violated my probation by testing positive for THC. I ask you LEAP, is it better to manipulate the system as in accepting how they view drugs use and "play along" OR should I state how it is a public health issue not a criminal justice one and stand my ground. I have realized now that the path of least resistance will be to "play along" but isn't truth better than anything.
dude ill tell you through first hand experience that the courts/judge/prosecutors hate it when someone states the harsh truth, even if that truth is logical and makes SENSE. now had you been in trial and had a jury to convince, that would be a different story and you might actually get off. but when talking to the judge/prosecutors, the best route to take is admit to your faults and ask for leniency instead of going against the grain and arguing a law that has been in effect for many years.
you also have to remember that these court officials are OLD SCHOOL and very traditional. they dont like things to change, so when you present an opposition to their laws, they get very uneasy and will more than likely increase your punishment, even if they agree with your logic.
If the nazi pigs would leave me alone in my garden, I would happily pay taxes and generate more revenue than any other business in the town I live in. Alas, this is a fascist police state.

And why in god's name would you want to dispose of the home grower? Should we dispose of our vegetable gardens because selling food is profitable?

Ron Paul debates Stephen Baldwin on Legalizing Marijuana
There are a lot of people out there that believe that Marijuana should be legal and it sure isn't Obama.
Educate yourself about the US Constitution.
The 10th amendment states that the FED does not have the authority to overstep the States rights.
