@TARBABY71 Depends on the plane, how far back on the runway it is, and how much juice the pilot gives it. I rode the fence myself for an A319 last year, and it's maybe 100-120 deg F. The temp doesn't hurt nearly as much as the debris - which is MUCH worse on the beach, where you get sandblasted.

I've stood behind a few jets from the beach side of the road, and it was fun the first few times, when it had been raining, so the sand was wet, and didn't blow into the jetblast. When I did it last year, and it was dry, the experience was less than pleasant.

But the first day I was there I was in the road and it was raining and an Air France A340 took off and it was peliting the rain at us. Now that hurt but with the fence mainly only thing you get is a face full of engine thurst, small rock and some sand. I want to stand behunde the fence when a A380 takes off. Now that would be pretty cool.
