im from duncanville and evrey time i see them i tear up they work so hard- 4 days a week of practicing for about 3 hours foot ball gmaes on friday and competitions almost evrey saturday they are truly amazing
@pineapple2013 I totally agree with you and i was thinking that very same thing. LD Bell has an amazing Marching ensemble but Duncanville seems as if they were more genuine and realistic. The music in my opinion was even executed better than Bell's. Unfortunately, we're not judges.
I am just in a wow on how good this band sounds. This is a wonderful show. I think it was very,very,very beautiful. The music was just beautiful and ur guard was just outstanding. One of the best sounding bands I have heard in a long time. Job well Done. ~ Drum Major.........
"The Duncanville High School Marching Band has been the UIL State Champion in 1986, 1990, and 2002 and is the only 5A band in Texas to advance to the State Finals every year since 1988.The Wind Ensemble has been the Region XX "Honor Band" every year since 1980 and has placed in the State Finals of Honor Band competition eight times culminating in their selection as the 1998; 2004; and 2008 TMEA AAAAA Honor Band. Duncanville is the only school in Texas to win three 5A Honor Bands.
This is an amazing band, way better than mine, but i wouldn't go as for as call the "The best in Texas." Don't get me wrong, they are really amazing and are among the best in Texas, but they are not the best.
You guys have had an AMAZING director for a while, watched the meyerson performance live last year of all of the planets, it was absolutely beautiful. best of luck to you guys in the future!

Look up "coppell 2009 boa" on YouTube, then compare the tempos that you played St. Michel and the tempos we played it...Like I said, it is my opinion about what you did with it, in my opinion I thought it was slow.
Wow, that was extra fast. That took away from all of the beastly harmonies that were in that, unlike that show ours was way more dramatic, which is what we wanted in that movement. "RESPIGHI St. Michael Archangel", look that up, they play it just like we do. and it sounds hella better than that 09 boa.
If by "better and dramatic" you mean slow and sleep inducing, then yes you are spot on...After comparing the two, this version makes me think of a old decrept priest slowly making his way to the alter to give a long winded sermon that no one will listen to. The other version sounds like two epic armies about to fight in a bloody crusade.

Umm, I am glad "yo all good" but I really don't know what you are trying to say....and from what I can read, you are contradicting yourself by saying that you are "Not even gunna argue" when you clearly have exclimations all over the place. Also if you looked at the scores, Coppell had the same or higher scores from every judge except 1 which costed us a metal. By the way, IMO it was torture listening to St. Micheal at a horribly slow tempo...

First of all, when they announced the placing, Duncanville was at the bleachers where they were getting their picture, you may have been "hooting and hollering" but from the sideline seats, it was a polite clap. And also, why the hell would "big shot music composers" be at a marching contest? Do you even know who composed your music to fit your show? And yes out of the 9 other bands there, I thought yours was most boring.

And yes i know where we got our music from, because one of our own band directors did all our parts to all of our movements. And did i ever say though words thats we did a poor job? I think not. Btw you guys haven't won in 5A yet. In 2008 you guys placed 3rd which was the highest you guys placed since you got into 5A in 2000.
Duncanville hasnt' been below the top 3 until you beat us in 2008.
But we placed in 1986, 1990, and 2002.

Wow, that was extra fast. That took away from all of the beastly harmonies that were in that, unlike that show ours was way more dramatic, which is what we wanted in that movement. "RESPIGHI St. Michael Archangel", look that up, they play it just like we do. and it sounds hella better than that 09 boa.

If by "better and dramatic" you mean slow and sleep inducing, then yes you are spot on...After comparing the two, this version makes me think of a old decrept priest slowly making his way to the alter to give a long winded sermon that no one will listen to. The other version sounds like two epic armies about to fight in a bloody crusade.

Umm, I am glad "yo all good" but I really don't know what you are trying to say....and from what I can read, you are contradicting yourself by saying that you are "Not even gunna argue" when you clearly have exclimations all over the place. Also if you looked at the scores, Coppell had the same or higher scores from every judge except 1 which costed us a metal. By the way, IMO it was torture listening to St. Micheal at a horribly slow tempo...

First of all, when they announced the placing, Duncanville was at the bleachers where they were getting their picture, you may have been "hooting and hollering" but from the sideline seats, it was a polite clap. And also, why the hell would "big shot music composers" be at a marching contest? Do you even know who composed your music to fit your show? And yes out of the 9 other bands there, I thought yours was most boring.

And yes i know where we got our music from, because one of our own band directors did all our parts to all of our movements. And did i ever say though words thats we did a poor job? I think not.
