i think the optik of the new 2009 r1 is a big flop, i think the sound are low, the sounds like a expensive ducati, and not a sportstar r1. The optik like a low bike, and not a sportstar bike, i think thats are the biggest sold damage of yamaha.
I am driving a Yamaha R6 from 2004,Its the best bike I have ever had.I've always liked the R1 but the 2004-2006 models are the most beautiful,the last one has the best engine but he is ugly as hell...sorry for the fans.
like the back end but i dont like the exhaust...wish it was slightly smaller...and the headlights are hideous...better front end looks but yamaha should consider covering that part instead of leaving it just blank...the lights looks like its staring at people...like the new bike but the lights are not good...
bike doesn't look as good as the 04/07 model but holy shit so much technology's gone into the engine. it's a good thing they've included a gear indicator like the gixxers but i reckon the mode selection's just stupid..
i am hoping to get the '09 CBR1000RR Abs over this, seems safer, as it is only my second bike, and i found it to be more comfy, otherwise I love my '04 R1
i like the cbr other then the odd looking snub nose. just seems a little out of proportion. after getting a better look at the 09 R1 i am keeping my 07. i dont like the short rear end of the 09. besides i have only 1000 miles on it. just put on a black wind screen, a K&N air filter and a dynojet power commander 3. so i just need aftermarket exhaust and i will have a bad bike on my hands. check out my video on my page. its kinda dark but i will make a new one this weekend
The thing the fail to mention is the crazy amount of heat the bike gives on but I still love my 09 R1!
