I so want to come over to your house and play for hours on end. Thank you for this post by the way, I myself had the first version of HE-MAN. Loved it. Geting it for birthday is one of my happiest childhood memories.
I loved watching he man on tv in the 80s. I had the original he man and bought most of the others from car boot sales. Still got them stored away now with castle grey skull and snake mountain that had a mic on it(think it was called that). Anyway I discovered sport then girls so I have no emotional connection now benders
I had all the American versions of heman but the original heman i had the battle heman and the one with the metalic silver but I always wanted the original when I was a kid I even had the prince adam figure.
I love HeMan its waaayyyy better than these new stupid cartoons, i am a huge fan of the 80s cartoon and i have ALL of the 80s heman figures except flying fist heman.
I also collect the MOTUC and not that much of the 200x line but the 80s line and cartoon will be the best
In the 80's it cost me about 10€ , say 14$ ... which was pretty much for a 7 year old kid ... but they were decent toys ... and I doubt it that they were made in China. It was more quality than the toys I know have to buy for my son. Fun to see those back.
Now that was a blast from the past! I remember going to Woolco with my Dad and buying the original He-Man for my 6th birthday in 1981. For the next 3 years all I wanted for Christmas or birthdays was a Masters of the Universe toy. I had quite the collection by the time I lost interest in them. I think I might go on ebay and buy the first few I ever got when I was a kid. He-man, Man at Arms, Skeletor, Mer-Man and Beast-Man :D
He-Man was the COOLEST, MUST HAVE figure for every boy in the 80's. I was born in 1986 (the year of the fourth variation) and I wasn't around during the peak of the He-Man craze. But I do remember seeing reruns of the cartoon on the USA Network in the late 80's-early 90's. And my older brother had He-Man figures (from his childhood) that he let me play with; they were really rad.
It amazing how attach u can get to this peaces of plastic and rubber! I was a child in the 80's and I think that inside of me that child is still alive! We are the pop culture, Nobody can take that away from us! Let's keep living this!
im getting my room almost done, he man was the best ever. when im don i hope you like it. the theme is just a toy them. the walls are purple and the carpet just happened to be green , yes the jokers colours.
Great freakin video! Its nice to see you post these so i know we nostalgia lovers arent alone out there. I used to take good care of my toys but while in HS, my parents cleaned out a closet i had of HEMAN toys. etc. my parents just gave them away to some kid next door who was breaking them left and right. it just hurt me damn it haha. I got home from school and was able to save my GIJOE, TMNT, XMen toys before being given away.
oh my god. In germany there was never so many differnt He- Mans released. I only had the legacy one from 81 and the one wiht this armour you can damage twice on the chest. The other ones - never seen. Thanks for uploading this video. Great job.
my jesus freak parents dubbed he-man "demonic" so i was NEVER allowed to watch them. I missed out bigtime but still played with the toys when i went over to my friends house
When I saw this video 2 or 3 years ago when I was looking for motu videos moved by nostalgia I decided to go on and collect at least 4 (he-man, battle cat, skeletor and phantor)... well I ended up collecting almost all vintage collection and now I'm collecting Motu Classics witch are much more than toys for me! So this video was for me the start line for my collection that is not a big or a great one but is loved. Thank you Dan!!
Man, I love this video, I joined Pulp Culture Network.com, & plan to start a Classics He-Man collection, I'm guessing it's never too late, He-Man is the best, would love a Vintage He-Man collection as well, i'd have a lot, only if I wouldn't have thrown all mine out as a kid, like an idiot, LOL, Love the vids man, Thanks for the memories, & for getting me into the great Hobby of Action Figure Collecting again. Peace.
Thanks for this cool video! I still got my "He-Man" and "Skeletor" figures! From the first release!!! They are so nice handpainted and they don´t look so crappy like the figures that came later on! I´m proud that I can call them my own after all these years! :-)
What a great video! I always wanted some of these figures as a kid but only got Heman. At the moment I`m a huge Bravestarr collector. Got a nice vintage Skeletor recently only to find out that these toys have a real strong smell coming from the used plastizicers. The Bravestarr figures are more or less scentless in comparison. I`m a litte insecure at the moment if I should collect those great looking vingate MOTU`s that might me harmful to ones own health in the end.
Dude , wasn't there another version of He-Man ? Where he was in space ? He had green transparent weapons ? He wasn't as buff either . And I think he had a headband too . I know I had one of these . And skeletor Was different too.
wasnt there another he man version? one with a backpack grappling hook feature with a string that you could tie to something and he would guide himself up by/
nice to watch some of these old masters of the universe toys here.. i collected many in my childhood , but sadly my dad must have beeing happen to thow or burned all my figures ,sneake mountain and castle grayskull :( i guess things like that have happend to many others..
I have the one at 2:02! Allthough it was probably my sis' toy (who's 12 years older than me and born in the mid 70's), remember nothing was more fun than turning He-Man's tor5so watching he become more and more disfigured.
my pleasure man.. as you might be able to tell from the videos on my page (including the ones about my 80s show) i love the 80s... g8 job and nice to meet ya Dan :)
i host a online radio show called Were Living in The 1980s, and i must say your video brought back memories to me that i to bring back to my listeners....bravo...please continue to make more of these :)
Thanks! I appreciate that! I do plan to do more similar to this, but haven't gotten around to it quite yet. All of the regular reviews take all of my time. :) I've been planning to do a similar video about TMNT for quite some time.
such a nice well planned video, my 5 year old son is desperate to get some figures as I bought him volume 1 & 2 on dvd, I think a movie could be done a lot better than the dolph lungren version set on earth.
The sad thing about watching this video which makes me very sad is the fact that I had all of those He-Man toys except the one made in Italy. I wish my parents bought me two boxs of each figure, so that today I could sell them for a alot of money on Ebay.
This is a very nice document on He Man Plastic toys! Its really a tribute to our childhood in 80's. For my self I had the first version of He Man and had a chnace to watch the movie as well :)
Those were the days we were crazy to catch his toons in TV and remember the small quarter sized toon books and the stickers!!!
Thank you so much for posting this. Im 34 now and grew up on all these treasures. I completely forgot about half of these characters. Seeing this triggered so many great memories and feelings.. Thank you.
Wow, it was a great time when the original figures came out! I had a lot of them. Nowadays I just got the original He-Man and Skeletor - a nice eye catcher from my cupboard!
Where did you get the music from this video? Is it from the DVD´s??

Dude, you rock! I just recently searched for He-Man action figures on ebay and I was blown away by Nostalgia! I forgot about a lot of them until I saw them on ebay, and childhood memories started flooding back to me. Sadly, I don't have any now. I wish I did.
