  • To do list, by Angry Youtube User

    Watch an Expert Village video.

  • bad

  • I'm looking at my Fender Deluxe right now and that amp behind you, my dear sir, is not a Fender.

  • that's sounds cool.. keep up!

  • This didn't do line 6 or Boss any favours.

  • So I'm waiting for Expert Villiage to come out with a video called "Getting the best tones from your Air Guitar rig"!

It goes something like this..."First you unplug your Line 6 amp..." hahaha

  • Borat wearing a green mankini would have improved my guitar playing more than this!

  • any guy who wears a hat like that

and a pair of ripped jean shorts,

    plays through a line6 amp

and says "distortion box" should really just stop trying at life.. because he's clearly failed, thusfar.

  • see all i want to know is how to get the best out of my pedals! I feel i have done all i can so i see a video like this and i think hang on, he might tell me something that i dont know.

    how wrong was i :-(

  • This sound like crap!

  • wow i thought this was a real video explaining how to get good tone

we all know for metal u need distortion man!! we're not dumb!!

and yes, we also know that if u turn the gain down, ull get a clean tone....

  • I personally like a huge bank of Marshalls to create my tone.

  • @Sreewtyui But we have Line 6!

  • Comment removed

  • well that was useless, but i did like his tone... why isn't there a button for that?

  • MD-2 > DS-1

  • What are the odds of finding a good expert village video out of 138,756?

    0-138,756.

  • This is what it sounds like when Eddie Van Halen takes a shit.

  • That sucked bad.

  • Hey YouTube! Any chance we'll ever have an ExpertVillage blocker feature anytime soon? Or a way we can ban them or something? Everytime I try to watch one of these I literally feel my brain cells committing suicide!

  • lol whata retard

  • Remember the amp's sound IS A LOT MORE CLEANER

  • to do list: by expert village

  • @georgeion58 haha ok then.

  • @georgeion58 sorry ill be more accurate next time lol

  • @flickomer and a 2 dollar camera

  • he talks about fender amps in the beginning, then i saw a line 6 amp behind him.

    wtf?

oh right, it's expert village XD

  • what a sucker going for a blue es-137

  • use a distortion pedal to boost the distortion on ur amp to slightly color the tone.

  • Boss DS-1..........is there a worse overdrive/distortion pedal that this one?? Maybe not.

  • Expert Village contractor: hey you do you own a guitar?

Random person on the street: yeah?

Expert Village contractor: I'll give you 50 bucks to make a youtube video teaching pinch harmonics

    Random person: pinch wuuu?

Expert Village contractor: yes you'll do nicely

  • are you selling that guitar? that's what i wanna know

  • you arent even playinbg through a fender amp. wtf

  • well that was usefull....

  • He said "more cleaner"....

  • @Xyrium and more dirtier... classic

  • dude, all you have to do is switch to lead, turn up the pre-gain to 11 and the post gain up to 5 (depending on what volume level you want). I did that ON my Peavey Amp. it doesn't cost anything.

  • @GiveMeATaco100 pedals sound better and are a billion time more versitile

  • You've just taken a minute and one second of my life, I WANT IT BACK

  • LOL line 6 amp and boss DS-1, couldn't get much worse! :P

  • Woah. I've never seen a Fender Deluxe that looks JUST like a Line 6 amp. What "expert" knowledge of equipment !

  • How is this instructional in ANY way?

  • well, that was seriously 1 minute of complete inspiration o.O

    not.. :/

  • hmmmm...

  • you can`t tell how to get the best guitar tone for rock music

because everyone has got an own sound angus young/richie sambora it isn`t the same only a bit

sorry for mistakes I`m from germany

  • "The Fender amplifier is a lot more cleaner sounding".

It keeps flashing to the actual gear and he talks as though it was there. Do you think he is on peyote? This I believe is the most likely explanation for this video.

  • @coronet67

the hat must be clouding his judgement

  • *Sigh*

First of all, there is no best rock tone.

    It is opiniative.

Second, you will NEVER get something near among the best rock or metal tones with a pedal.

    So here's a tip:

Buy a good head, a good and matching cabinet, and a rack EQ. DBX 215, maybe?

A good and not too expensive combo is Randall RH150 G3.

I spent shitloads of money for years, trying to find good tones with pedals.

My experience? Never buy them for distortion. Only for effects.

  • @SlapphePikkur but what if you need to change from clean to distortion during a song? is a distortion pedal usefull then?

  • @3fast4u

The Randall RH150 G3 has Two channels, Clean and drive.

The amp follows a switcher with 4 buttons. One for turning on the amp reverb and/or pedals plugged into the FX loop. One for switching between the drive and the clean, one for boosting the clean, and one for adding a gain boost on the drive. All you need to do is to press the channel button. Then it becomes clean.

And you can program it to turn off several pedals plugged in at the same time.

    It's better either way.

  • @SlapphePikkur

So your telling me a Randall 150 G3 is gonna sound better than a BK Butler tube driver pushing a vintage Fender Bassman, no, most pedals are made with high quality amps in mind, sounds like your still wallowing in the solid state.

  • @RuroiniStenchin

Well, it's hard as hell to tune a good sound for a Randall RH150 G3, because that the EQ knobs change the natural dynamics in the sound itself, to put it that way.

To get that sweet sound, i use a DBX 15-band EQ. The DBX 215. With it, i can change the EQ on the amp, without changing the dynamics.

So i am telling you that a Randall RH150 G3 sounds better than a BK Butter tube driver pushing a vin. Bassman. If you dissagree...fine. I don't wanna argue.

    BTW: Dime used solid state

  • @SlapphePikkur

I guess it's all personal preference, I kinda came across as a big dickhead in my previous post, I'm sure you can get some sweet tone out of your solid state, especially for metal type stuff. I'll still hold to the idea that most good distortion/overdrive pedals are meant to drive slightly dirty/clean tube amp.

Though for metal you are right, most guys use the amps distortion.

  • @RuroiniStenchin

That's not how i do stuff...But it's pretty much an awesome dirty sound if you use a DS-Pedal to push or boost the amp. I, however, crank the amp's gain. I like the thrusting and shearing sound. With the EQ, i turn up the 12-15 K, and cut the highs above 20.

  • expert village sucks.who agrees.?

  • AHAHAHA LMAO HOW IS THIS THE BEST ROCK TONE EVER? HAHAHA

  • lol

  • wow cool what is the exact name of that pedal

  • @kakachi100 its a boss distortion ds-1 pedal.

I use it too and you really don't need a fender amp to get a good sound of it ;)

  • @luukaxarmie ty

  • That is a line six amplifier, not a fender, and you call yourself an expert, as far as I am concerned you are the village idiot.

  • That Fender amp in the beginning would've been a good idea. LOL

  • Nice shorts hehe!

  • Oh expert village, you always give me a good laugh

  • they should be called amateurvillage

  • Reminds me of my days as a kid when my parents handed me a toy guitar and said I had the best guitar in the world. Seriously people like this shouldnt be allowed handle fenders.

  • That was shit tone, all i have is a spyder 3 150hd and that same shortboard he had with a dean razorback, and i can get way better tone than that. That was shit.!!

  • that tone sucked sooo much

  • ds-1s are shit

  • @TacooGrill

yes, but modded ones are nice if you know how to use them

  • Sweet cut off jean shorts. I almost didn't notice how best the tone was do to the best cut off jean shorts. Maybe for future reference tune down how awesome your clothes are so we can really focus on the sweet tones you're putting out.

  • Also, contrary to what this "expert" says, ease up on the distortion/gain, even when playing harder rock. Once you oversoak it you drown out the warmth and character. The volume knob is also your best friend - along with your fingers (or pirck). The way you play the strings is a key factor too.

  • @FlightoftheSpeedKing Exactly. I play in a heavy metal band, and often times after shows other guitarists in the crowd will come up to me and be like 'Dude, you sounded great. How'd you get your tone?' and I tell them 'Use less gain than you think you need. You get more clarity and more oomph, even when you turn the bass down on your amp to let your actual bass player be heard.'

  • If anybody in their right mind actually believes that what's heard in that video is "the best electric guitar tone for rock", you have been seriously fooled. Getting a good tone is no easy task, and from my experience about 9 outta 10 guitar players come up short in this area, as many just don't know good from bad - you gotta do your research.

  • lol...wtf?

  • I thought that good tone is...subjective?

  • so i should use a fender dewux and a distworsion bwox with the dwives awll the way up? Wooks good to me! thanks a wot

  • expert village.....more like expert pillage. As in my time has been pillaged after watching this.

  • This guy's a gay!

  • In my opinion the best rock tone still comes out of a naturally overdriven VOX tube amp. Think of an AC30 or something. Treble booster makes it even better, but I don't like distortion but that's just me.

  • in my opinion the tone is a bit.... ammm how can i put this without offending anyone.... SHIT... oooops i said it... but come on the best guitar tone for rock music??????? not convinced :]

  • ...boss pedals are for noobs, not experts.

  • Cool pants! Cool hat! Cool tone! Just really cool!!!

  • can i get one of your guitars mines broke im not relly into rock but i can mix rap& rock together

  • that tone is totally gay,

  • that is the worst tone i have ever heard

  • what A tone!!!!!

  • This is machine troll, impervious to retaliation trollin'

  • HEY LOOK AT ME, i have an amp. now look, DISTORTION! boon instant rock. DONE. pretty much all this video is. probably the worst thirty seconds of my life. i'm going to sue to get that time back... but then i'll just waste hours in court, and thousands on a lawyer... i guess i'll just suck it up.

  • Wow, that sounds worse than your mother did when I was railing her last night.

  • somebody on some other video said that expert village is some huge troll and that we havent figured it out yet. i think i agree. like theres no way they can be serious.

  • @coronet67 I agree totally.

    Shit video.

  • Every once in a while I have to watch this video again. it comes up as a "related video" and I dont know what it is. I hate it, but I love hating it. Just the fact that it's completely useless and the guy looks like a douchebag with that hat I guess. I cant really explain how much I love hating this video.

  • expertvillage is garbage

  • I've seen a couple ok videos. One helped me ix my car. Generally I agree with you though. I dont know how they determine if you are an expert. I guess if you send them a video they figure you are an expert.

  • +507! this made me laugh. thanks so much. it' the perfect addition to these 'expert' videos.

  • This video is recommended for beings who are new to the planet Earth.

  • You got a fucking problem, essay?!

  • @zedrein18 Wat make u tink dat mang?

  • So if I want, say, a distortion tone.....then I should get a distortion pedal?

Wow. That is absolutely PRICELESS advice. I never would have thought about that myself.

What if I want a chorus tone? Should I get a........wait for it...........CHORUS pedal? Let me know soon, PLEASE!

  • hahahaha well played my friend

i think i would get more advice about EQ if i read the packet of an air freshener xD

  • No, obviously, you'll need a delay pedal, it's pretty much self-explanatory. Good ol' sarcasm.

  • lol... enough.. that was classic. a great video indeed.

  • no . . .

you need a guitar rig interface

  • @Cwildenradt Ironically, you don't get more gas from pressing the gas pedal down further....you just use more......

  • @Cwildenradt hahaha Barney Stinson :D

  • @Cwildenradt Lmfao! Internet Hi-Five!

  • @Cwildenradt i love sarcasm :D

  • this is not a tone..it's a shit..you better learn how to use the flextone itself at least..dude!!

  • is this a joke?

  • hes gay

  • mmhmm distortion sounds fine

  • uh.. no. just no. this video is shit

  • What?..........that's it?

    Not much info here bud.

Try elaborating so guys like me, aka, drummers only recording guitar, can learn some more.

    This kinda sucked.

More depth, more volume, explain your gear and the order it's used in, and what interface, or hardware/software, and mics, etc., and you should have a decent video.

  • Why the fuck was this recommended to me? He needs to get some emg's and the boss Metal Zone stompbox and crank that shit!

  • i like that sound.. is ilke that old sound in seattle 90´s.. (Y)

  • Comment removed

  • can you put the distortion box into the yamaha amplyifier

  • he wants to get a rock sound with a single coil ! cool ! GAY VILLAGE

  • I run a 5150, need no stomp box with that amp.

  • ha new york pro thats the one i have

  • leave it to expert village to fuck it up.
