I love hiking this trail challenge better than running a marathon. This is harder than a marathon. The people I hiked with on any Rachel Carson are hardcore and I am honored to have hiked and completed 4 trail challenges attempted 5 and am looking forward with great vigor to hiking the trail challenge once again in 2012. Onward to Victory !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just ran it on saturday. it was the hardest event i've ever ran. Much harder than the 50 mile ultra marathon I did last spring but it is definitely worth the pain to finish it. The volunteers are phenominal. Each checkpoint had mounds of food, water, and aid. great people, great trail.
Great video. The Rachel Carson Challenge will push you beyond your limits. 34 miles in one day with miles and miles of hills. If you can do this, you can do anything.

we live next to a part of the trail. we have not hiked the whole trail but we have hiked the part at 0:40 and a little farther.

Wow! It may be a brutal course, but that is a beautiful event, with lots of beautiful people.
