Dubai would not be building this if tsunamis would become a problem. The Persian Gulf is practically closed so if an earthquake was to occur, it would not reach the gulf. Its safe! The only thing I don't like about this project is how the islands are way expensive.

There are issues with this project and place. First, it is a "light muslim" state that has limited tolerance towards other religions. Instead of being a secular state they pronounce Islam as the official Religion and that is a great reference for not investing with them. Finally, Icebergs are melting and therefore these man made islands could easily disappear. No doubt about it.

Persian Gulf is not very deep, so i don't think tsunamis can "destroy" the palms like everyone thinks ^^

earthquake crates tsunami...tsunami its your home wash you to sea... sea drift either takes you to the cold freezing waters on antartica or shark infested sea...to those who can swim will drown i would not live in those island...it would be putting my own family at risk -_-

you don't have to live here to be in danger, just think of earthquakes, storms, tornados, accidents, that happen everyday... -.- besides high buildings are more dangerous than artificial islands

Dubai would not be building this if tsunamis would become a problem. The Persian Gulf is practically closed so if an earthquake was to occur, it would not reach the gulf. Its safe! The only thing I don't like about this project is how the islands are way expensive.

am i the only one who was not brainwased into believing this is great? I see skinny long strips of sand crowded with homes...no privacy, crowded and congested with traffic. Rich people living their indulging lazy lives going shopping and going to parties...wasted lives of luxury...fat and stupid..it's pure hell!

Oh yes and as for flooding in that area... I'm quite certain these multi-millionaire developpers know far more than your average architect. So I'm pretty sure they have a system installed in case something like that ever happens.

There are issues with this project and place. First, it is a "light muslim" state that has limited tolerance towards other religions. Instead of being a secular state they pronounce Islam as the official Religion and that is a great reference for not investing with them. Finally, Icebergs are melting and therefore these man made islands could easily disappear. No doubt about it.

This whole "making your own island" thing should be illegal. Making new land and living in their own paradise may be good for them, but making new land raises sea levels and makes big problems for other people.
