The song is good, but there is only a couple of problems with the song. Your voices are fine, but they don't fit with the general melancholy of Silent Hill. Also, I am one of those major hardcore fans of Silent Hill so I tend to nit-pick more than normal, but my fears are simple to imagine. My personal feelings towards the song is that I dislike ones that are sung, because you should be able to feel the mood of the song from how it is played instead of how the singer sings it.

A vocal version of Promise... It's creative and innovative, but for a song as beautiful as Promise, you really need softer vocals. The lyrics are great, but you need someone with a less aggressive voice to sing it, because it's a contrast that just doesn't entirely work.

Cool. To me, the sound track (original one) shows a lively and calm side to Silent Hill, which goes with the name "promise" as to promise happy endings, but the sad thing is its SILENT HILL, so the song really is a HUGE promise that something good will come, like giving hope...just my thoughts :)

I agree with you, it shouldn't have been messed with it was amazing without lyrics. I do like the music being downed a tone but putting lyrics in ruins the whole point of the music of silent hill. You are supposed to feel something in your heart, not be told how to feel by lyrics.

not to repeat or sound conceited about the cover, but the usage of the lyrics was to put our own personal meaning to the track, not to rewrite or tell people what to feel when they hear it. the lyrics weren't just written randomly, they expressed the emotions that the track stirred in myself.

the original track is just soundtrack music designed for the game, you put your own meaning to it. i said the lyrics i used were born from what the song means to me personally. they're about feeling trapped and isolated after the end of a relationship, like i said personal, nothing to do with re-writing the meaning of the original.
