haha yeh it is kinda of a wrestling match, we have one at the tractor museum near me trick is dont flood it with the primer otherwise it rains fuel from the exhaust pipe ..woops :P
I'll tell you, when you get up to the 45 hp hotbulbs and above, they can wear you right out if they won't light. I've been close to a nice little upchuck whilst giving these a twirl. One problem is that the hotbulb gets coated with combustion residue over time and this interferes with vaporization. Then you got yourself a cast iron Nautilus machine on big wheels. Gotta love 'em.
Actually, the whole lot was built in Hungary: Clayton & Shuttleworth sold their subsidiary to Hofherr & Schrantz, who included Clayton & Shuttleworth in the new company's name because of the good reputation that the previous company had. Clayton & Shuttleworth never made IC tractors in UK.
No doubt the example shown had had 25 minutes of blowtorch to warm up the hot-bulb; I wonder if the owner did manage to start it in the end?

So it's basically a Hofherr & Schrantz tractor, built in Austria with a Clayton & Shuttleworth engine built in England?
