and here is what I got from the net if you'd like to use cocoa powder
" I prefer to use melted chocolate. I like the texture that it gives. I have tried to use just the cocoa powder and did have good results with that. I sifted the cocoa first before adding it into the fondant. Then I have also tried to add both melted and sifted powdered cocoa together. That also did work fairly well for me too. - continue...
....I was just experimenting with it and what ingredients that I had on hand for that particular day. All worked well, but my choice is the melted way."
Soo cute =) Did you use cookie cutters and moulds for some of these (the fish and mermaid)? And how do you colour the fondant? I wasn't sure if liquid food colouring would throw off the recipe...
yes I used mold and cutters :) my food color is always water based but yes quite many people would find troubles with water based food coloring :) there are powdered food color which I heard to be the best for fondant, but I have never use it so I wouldnt have the slightest idea :)
There is a text version of this exact recipe. It has the recipe, detailed instructions, and a FAQ-- very helpful..

To be honest, I havent tried it myself, but I read somewhere online that you could use melted chocolate Lindt, Ghirardelli, and even candy melts.
