@shortnut1194 well if nintendo bricks your system accidentally - they can either release a corrective update or re-fund those who are proven to be mis-affected. Theres many rather simple solutions. I mean its all so much better than the impact piracy is having on games - so why not. We wouldn't have to go through this if people werent stupid to pirate stuff.

I've been looking at LA Noire LPs and after about 2 hours I have to say it's quite disappointing gameplay:( linear and a bit monotonous such a pity as the visuals are amazing and the facial animation is jaw dropping, a ground breaking milestone. They're real people!!! Anyways, I have to say you make me wish I was in my 20s again and I lived near you QQ. @JP317 It's more that we deserve some form of compensation for our personal information being compromised. Many people had credit cards on there that they had to cancel and reissue, which is annoying. Sony didn't *have* to compensate, but it looks a lot better if they do.

@superpaniland My details are on there but I've not changed anything, I've just kept a close eye on my account which I've been doing anyway since I was a victim of fraud once before. And if you are with any decent bank, well in the UK at least, their insurance will cover your losses. It's good that they did it, it will help their image at this time all I'm saying is that people who haven't been affected shouldn't feel like they deserve compensation.

@JP317 Just to be clear I too am happy that they are doing this, mainly as an apology, it's just I've seen many people feel like they are entitled to it and more and that kinda bugs me because many people weren't effected, other than not being able to play online for a little while but there is still offline gaming and I don't know going out, and they are complaining about compensation for a FREE service, correct me if I'm wrong but XBox Live Gold is still a pay for service.

@Museyfied It's more the fact that they *can* do it. It'sa a litle scary to know that if a rogue firmware update is sent out it can brick any consoles that download it. Or, as Sony has demonstrated, a security breach could do the same thing. It's not the reason that bothers me, just the fact that they can actually do it.

Firmly believe that nintendo, while awesome most of the time, does NOT have a right to brick my 3DS. They have every right to stop updates, but not to brick my 3DS. Mind you Pani, I do not pirate games, what I am concerned with is the fact that there is a kill code somewhere out there that can brick my system and with the security mishap with Sony, I'm not feeling too confident about manufacturers can keep a secret like a kill code secure.

@Syncr0 nope, its in the user agreement. You know that think you click "ok" to as you boot it up. Assuming that YOU did click ok - they Legally own everything, even the data saved on that system. You should try reading the TOS every once in a while.

@leatopia What I do care about, is that now manufacturers are shipping hardware with kill codes. It's set a very bad precedent and a very scary, looming security exploit should the wrong people find it. As a consumer, it's actually rather alarming if you think about it. Manufacturers of other industries get bolder and decide they want to make a bit more profit and make it so any form of modication with 3rd party components will brick their hardware. Like bricking a car because of 3rd party parts

itll be in stores in the morning here pani :) (australia) and get it on ps3! it runs smoother as it was developed on the ps3 and then semi ported to 360. my friend works at GAME and he had in store and let check out the cover on monday >.< i really wanted to take it home! cheapest retail price here is $74 so make sure u make where ever u buy it match that!
