the turn didn't have to be so dramatic, but it made it look cool. if anyone thinks thinks this one is bad, try horseshoe bend on the deschutes river in oregon. my friend flew there in his super cub and watched a guy put the nose in the dirt. that runway is one only for cubs!

Tundra Tires can actually pull off some amazing feats. They can greatly reduce the Landing distance. Also, it is unusual, but true, that you can shorten the landing distance by skimming the water before landing on land.

basically, its a very short piece of land, on a bend in a river, wi8th logs and rocks. It would be very difficult to land here without running into the water, wrecking on a log. You have to make a perfect approach and landing here to not damage your airplane, which would really suck, cuz then you'd be stuck in the middle of alaska!

This isn't a standard J-3 cub. It looks like a super cub PA-18. I've flown them on wheels and floats.

True...On the J-3 cub you could see the inline cylinders sticking out on the sides of the engine. That means that this is probably a Piper PA-18 with Tundra Tires
