  • ~ The person whose mind is always free from attachment, who has subdued the mind and senses, and who is free from desires, attains the supreme perfection of freedom from Karma through renunciation. ~

  • you speak of non-attachment. Detachment is different.

  • Thank you good reminder.

  • All things are ephemeral, so clinging to anything is a waste of time! Read a book and pass it on, or watch You-Tube videos! :)

  • put your shirt on, looks like you are trying to pick someone up

  • Someone said you were too flamboyant to be taken serious. Let me first say, thats the stupidest shit ive ever heard. Secondly id like to say i like it :)

  • Interesting and challenging.

  • Four Noble Truths

  • OK Davey Wavey. Your talking about Mandalas and the Bhagavad Gita of which I have both sitting here beside me. Your thoughts on detachment insightful. I am also a Friend on your myspace. I have Mandalas on there. Oh BTW you must have a Million Videos.

  • If you haven't seen it yet, you need to see Little Buddha. It shows the Buddhist way without being 'in your face' about it. I personally love the film.

  • I'm not prejudice, just way too flamboiant to take seriously. im sorry. i couldnt help but laugh. i own a copy of the gita, i enjoyed half of your message i get the idea. keep up the good work.

  • Did you detach from your shirt?

  • Thanks for your comment. How do you know God is a man-made theory? Can you prove it? If I'm wrong to believe in God then I may look silly. But if God exists then I haven;t lost anything, only gained wisdom. I tried not to believe once but positive thinking will only ever get you so far. New age notions about the universe etc just leave me cold. If we're here by some random coincidence, then there's no meaning to life whatsoever. I dont believe that. I'll take my chances.

  • You're equating atheism to nihilism.

  • I like the theory of detatchment. Is it a theory? Anyway I feel having the skill is it a skill? or ability of detatchment is a great tool to possess. Maybe it's more about controlling and having the ability to take everything in life in moderation and not go overboard. Well those are my thoughts ae.

  • I love Indian Religions!

  • That is so true. In fact, that puts a lot of things about life into perspective. By the way, feel free too add me as a friend on here.

  • Dave, if people are detatched how can we show compassion for others who are lost, suffering or in pain? We should be walking in love not detatchment. The world needs love. People need love, and to re-connect to the unconditonal love of God, not the universe or any other idea or man made theory - none of that self-help stuff produces lasting transformation other than to the bank balance of the authors of it.

  • you are attached to love

  • do your duties/responsibilities but with detachment BG chapter 3 verse 19 detachment is NOT same as giving up all actions thats indolence and FYI this is not self-help BGita is THE best spiritual text ever produced, Bible is for average soul while BG is for a philosopher/science of soul dont just babble what comes to ur mind

  • thanks for sharing some Buddhism with us. I try to live my life without attachments, but it's difficult. Have you read the book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle? Awesome book which changed my life...check it out! ;)
