  • its like bird heaven

  • I just rescued a Quaker parrot and I want to give her a bigger home. The family she was with was very mean to her so i took her in. would a cage like your be okay for her?

  • @Sundown90731

You did a good job to rescue this bird! My birds are about 16 cm (6,5 in) long. They are much smaller than a quaker. I think, the dimensions of the cage should be double as ours. Good luck!

  • i'm with ya. i didn't want to possess any being, but 7 years ago i was brought a 3 day old sparrow that authorities wanted to put down. too crippled to let go, she ('miracle-blessing') still remains with me. SUCH a smart and demanding little bird. love of my life. i was given her next best friend, my beloved canary 'sunny' who died too soon. i'm still devastated. since then i've been been given canaries and cockatiels. i hire people to help, but my dream is to do it all. they're my whole world.

  • i've watch all of your videos today. i'm so impressed with each. one made me cry. one made me laugh. the rest made me smile. i learned this incredible cage is for a blind bird and his friend, that yellow blotches around the eyes means the linnie is getting older, that what my mom said about holding hands would make me pregnant might be true after all, and if there is reincarnation, i want to come back as one of your birds.

  • @oddmary

Oh Mary ... your words are going straight to my heart. Yes indeed ... I love my birds very very much. They are family members. 15 years ago I decided never to keep birds because I feel that birds belong to the nature. But then I saw these awesome little green heartbreakers in a pet shop and made me guilty again. Although I know that my birds are "prisoners" I promised to practice a natural bird attitude :-))) Thanks again for your kind words! :-*, Monika

  • Good work!

  • can i print this out

  • fantastic job!!!! well done!!! i hope i could make one like this!!!

  • hey i was wondering if u guys could help me out im trying to make a bird cage like this one but dont know how please help

  • @mofles07

Hi :-) Thanks for subscribing! I'll try to help you ... what are your questions?

  • What netting did you all use?

  • @nofoam4u

The netting was especially made for bird aviaries. We've bought it in a bird shop.

  • I'm going to build it in a week or two.

  • @emmaheliseashcraft

YES. YES. YES. And then you show us the new home with your happy Miles! I would love it!

  • Could you give me an estimate on how much something like this would cost to make?

  • @TheLyricalUndead

It was not expensive ... I hope I remember well ... I think we spent about 150 Euro (inclusive the decoration)

  • that is a nice aviary

  • How long did it take you to make this? I am going to build a bird cage that is 4 feet by 3 feet by 4 feet.

  • @chikabirdy

Oh! That's nice! Would you show your bird home on YT when you have finished? I am very interested!

My husband and his son needed for the construction about three or four weekends. Cleaning the garage was a horror ... ha ha!

  • @linnieworld I will. I am building one for two rescue birds I might adopt. If I don't adopt them (there is another bird I am interested in from the same place that comes with a cage) I will probably build an aviary for them to play in. My green cheek conure will try to fly off her playgym if I go ten feet away :)

  • @chikabirdy

Ha ha... some birds are like gum! Good luck for your new birds. It is always a good decision to adopt homeless souls! If it doesn't work, good luck for the bird who comes with its own appartment!

  • what are the dimensions of the cage? and just to let you know you have beautiful birds and a cage!!!

  • @Jippster1

    Oh ... thanks!

    The dimensions are 1,80 m x 1,00 m x 0,60 cm ... pretty good for two small birds!

  • how comes their not in this cage anymore

  • @callum424

Henry and Christo are still living there :-)))

Both birds are full flightened, but not well trained in flying. They are afraid to leave the aviary and prefer to stay inside. Therefore we built them a bigger aviary. I think their fear results on their first owners who kept also cats.

My birds are named Sammy and Charlie. Their cage is a little bit smaller. They get flight time every day and are very good aviators!

  • how comes you dident keep your birds in this

  • @callum424

This is the cage of Henry and Christo. They are adopted Lineolated Parakeets and now owned by Markus, the eldest son of my husband. We don't live together in the same house.

  • That's a beautiful cage!

  • @hawaiidoves

Thank you very much! I think, if we invite birds to live with us, they should have a comfortable home :-)) I always try to give my best!

I like your free flying finches!

    Green Greetings to Hawai :-)

    Monika

  • @linnieworld Sounds like you are a very caring person. Your pets, are lucky to have you as an owner !!!

  • i will, but it will take some time.

  • Thanks again. How do you clean the bottom of the cage. I'm affraid that with a new bird it will be starteled and fly away into my room.

  • @crazyRCplane

Hi! On the bottom we attached a plate from plexiglass. This material is very easy to clean. Inside the aviary we attached still another edge from plexiglass (about 15 cm). Mostly the ground remains clean outside the aviary.

I would be glad if you show me your new self-made cage some day :-)

  • Your video helped a lot thanks. I like how you covered the mesh on the outside. Defenitly doing hat for my parakeet cage. want to make it a little smaller though, takes up to much space, and teach my budgies to fly outside.

  • @crazyRCplane

That's fine! Your budgies will enjoy it! Our birds love their aviary, but they also love to fly in our home each day for many hours :-))) That's very important for their health.

  • We finally built our aviary. I think I sent you a link to it but I get very confused on here. Hope all is well in your part of the world!

  • @ChefGirl22

Congratulations! You were VERY successfull!!! I love your new aviary too, you did a great job for your birds! Thanks a lot for the informing video, I had very fun while watching! Kurt is a real friend!

  • Wow this is very nice. You did a great job. GREAT pics of the birds enjoying it. I am trying to build a very large indoor aviary for my finches, appx 6w'x6'dx7'h. I was wondering if I needed to use 2x4s due to the size but feel it's total overkill for birds that weigh less than a piece of paper. Still in search of the perfect finch aviary.

  • @ChefGirl22

Thanks a lot for your nice comment. Good luck for your birds and their new perfect aviary! I hope you be successful :-))))

  • @linnieworld Hi! Actually a friend is coming this Wednesday to build my new aviary from scratch-to-finish all in one day. I'm keeping a materials list and will take pics. I'm really excited. I have some new birds and lots of nesting going on, and a company that wants me to supply birds to them. They will be so happy in the bigger aviary!

  • That is absolutely beautiful, great job, you sure do know how to make birds comfortable.

  • @loveofeathers

Hi Donna, I am very proud because of your compliment because YOU are a great Linnie-Mom! Thanks!
