@alex1mz Mate trust me I was a communist myself but when I started reading about communist history I knew that the people indeed had some stuff but it barely worked. A soviet nail factory had to produce 1000 nails so they made 1 big nail of 1000 kilo's. Also a car factory that made car parts got no other resources then wood so they made wooden engines for the soviet cars. Communism in theory is a great system but in the works it sucks.

Sure, SOCIALISM had its flaws when tried in practice, but that's a controversial discussed topic inside the leftists movement and because one tendency fucked up (let beside how exaggerated it is presented to us) you shouldn't let this deceive you view on communism. It is still the only alternative to capitalism! And btw communism is the end goal of a transitional phase called socialism in which the SU was situated. Communism never failed because communism was never established!

@TheDutchGame And additionally capitalism has it's (many) flaws as well. Just look at how many food is wasted in our society while so many people are starving or how we are not able to use resscources sustainble because we have no (or only very limited) power over the economy. Faults were made, otherwise the soviet union would not have collapsed, but it is up to us to analyse them properly and hopefully find a better way towards communism.

@Ixam13 Interesting, but first things first. We need to abolish all cultures and religion in order to have true communism. Just look at what it has done to us. Crusades, raping, murder, Jihad, the list goes on. Religion is 9excuse me for my language) bullcrap. You can believe in a "god" but please, don't organize a religion.

I share your antitheistic viewpoint. Materialism is important to understand and to apply communist theories. Allthough we wont be able to enforce it. Burning down churches wont make anyone an atheist. Religion cannot be abolished, it abolishes itself slowly in a communist society (at least I hope ;)). And concerning cultures: we dont have to abolish cultures, just nationalism or racism. Not everyone has to be equal in every aspect, only equal treated.
