i'd love to hear a studio version of the entire "celebration of the lizard". i've heard the live version. did they even make a studio? surely they did.
ever read "wilderness" morrisons book of poetry? compiled after his death, some of its facinating, much of it scribbled randomising, but the good stuff is haunting. a lot like this song.
This is one of my favorite songs ever. Those who take the time to consider what Mr.Morrison was attempting through his music and life will find a sincere, albeit vain, soul who was seeking to be a mass shaman and revolutionary of mind.
this song examines the self destructive underbelly of the body politic power structure of the West. Best line, the engine runs on glue & tar. Think about what the engine is a metaphor for... then you'll get why he says glue & tar. Pretty insightful & scary view into the motive of the JFK death. Morrison never gets his credit for his beat style lyrics wh/ in some case so succinctly cut to the underlying currents of what makes this nation tick.
exactly, thank you for seeing it my way! (plus i only put this on so people can enjoy the MUSIC of the Doors, not the SIGHT of the Doors! what sense would that make?
nevermind i take my comment back because the film the doors is the only place ive seen him depicted as a drug addict psycho
