  • Niki Evans is amazing at this.

  • I personally prefer Dickson's version of this...but in all honesty when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter who is singing it as long as it gets the right message across and that is a womans heart break over her loss...i love the play so much

  • My mum played barbara dicksons music when i was little and i absolutley lover her music and her voice and i agree shes the best mrs johnstone, she made this music hers.

  • Effortless perfection. How she does it is beyond me.

  • opne of the finest for me was bernie nolan.....absolute superb

  • Kiki Dee was a fantastic Mrs Johnstone and sings this song much better!

  • Rebecca Storm is much better at this song - she's got far more emotion than Dickson.

  • BARBARA IS A DIVA - UP WITH THE BEST X

  • Can't believe all the ranting about Mel C in Blood Brothers. No one can sing these songs like Dickson. After all these years, she's still the best.

  • iv seen the musical twice so far and once at charing cross london and the other bristol hippodrome and both times this song twinges my heart

  • A perfect performance here. Great LIVE singing and a nice simple piano arrangement for an accompaniment. Beautiful.

  • wowza.

  • she's a well good singer!

  • erm possable it the person of loose women who was de person who played hr when i seen it so dunno i seem to recal de girl on loose women is coleen

  • i had coleen nolan as mrs johnson she was ace seen her twice in de same thing shes amazing

  • Do you mean Maureen Nolan?

  • yeah Maureen Nolan in Stoke

  • oh she is isn't she! I loved her hopefully I'm going to see her again soon xx

  • The original Mrs. J is still the best. Barbara Dickson is in a different class and that Susan Boyle woman should be aspiring to this kind of stuff instead of lesser singers.

  • I saw blood brothers yesterday. We didn't have Nicki Evans, but the Mrs Johnstone we had was fantastic. I cried non-stop! :)

  • Barbara dickson..original cast on the original West End production...original voice....cant get better,...what a power and clarity

  • Yeah i saw this in Novemeber Nicki Evans was fantastic.x

i thought the best character or actor was Mickey.x when he was addicted to his pills i thought he was amazing .x i was in the 2nd row so it was just soo amazing with his like facial expressions etc.x

  • you are right on the money. i have had the pleasure of seeing the show 3 times including two weeks ago with niki as mrs johnson. she was amazing. i agree that mickey was outstanding and when he played the addiction piece you could live the part through him. one of the best shows i have ever seen. two bad its not playing in canada. until we were in london in october 2008 i had never heard of the show. people who don't get to see or go to the show really miss out.

  • I saw it yesterday

    NIKIE EVANS WAS FANTASTIC!

she made me cry at the end

  • she's awesome. i saw one of the nolan's in it in london in '06.

  • Vocally Barbara is much better than Linda Nolan - or Rebecca Storm - and she puts far more emotion into it. Willy Russell has said she was the finest Mrs Johnstone and he should know!

  • Kenrew,

This brings back great memories of the Lyric

    Theatre and "Blood Brothers"

    A great performance from Barbara.

By the way - Who is Linda Nolan?

  • i love this song. Linda Nolan did it fantastically though.

  • The idea that ANY Nolan can be compared to the legendary Barbara Dickson is nonsense!

  • stunning and moving....... beautiful

  • i love blood bothers so much! i have only seen it twice but i cried both times! i love playing the music! the only problem is there arnt many Blood Brothers videos on Youtube!

  • i know :( and then look at wicked!

  • yh come on webber, lets do a sound of music/ joseph/Oliver!-esque televised bbc vote-a-thon for blood brothers so that can be ruined too (grrrr!)

  • Kenrew

Come on Lloyd Webber and Co. Lets have this great artist back on the West End Stage.

  • this would have been better tho if i saw the end lol xx but up till then lol it was fabu lous! xx

  • this play is amazing and i love this song!!

  • rebecca storm singing this ! just amazin ! best ms,johnstone eva ! no joke ...xx

  • Oh please!!

  • This song shouldn't ever have power and soul no matter how old you are. Read the score!!

  • No one can beat this woman doing this song! it's my favourite female solo from a musical..... LOVE IT!

  • I hope this is true! But really? More power AND soul? I MUST CHECK THIS OUT!

  • No its NOT True.

  • Were doing it English and in Drama, its AMAZING!!!

  • i have to sing this song in my skul show!!! im mrs johnstone!! haha cant wait!

  • Another song I can't sing all the way through without crying!

  • I'm the same. It's especially emotional for me, as I was taken into care at 6 months old, and this song makes me wonder how my own mother felt.

Barbara Dickson's voice is amazing, I love her version of the song, though when I saw Linda Nolan doing it I loved it too.

  • Barbara Dicksons glorious voice sends shivers down my spine. Superb.

  • it's sending a chill down my spine, too ... it's so good!
