  • now I know how bambis mom was killed XD

  • @BaCkStAbEr2007 Yeah I used to cry at that scene... but now like 10 years later I laugh when watching bamnis mom gert shot lols.

  • nice shot

  • it was cg !!

  • Very nice work all around. Heck of a shot my man.

  • Very nice work all around. Heck of a shot my man.

  • Very nice work all around. Heck of a shot my man.

  • Good stuff there. At least your honest brother. Thanks for the time to put this together.

  • dude, you are a total bad ass

  • there isnt any thing like bow hunting

  • megadeth fan? I am and i hunt with a longbow xD

  • Gotta hate no mans land. Hit 'em there a few times myself

  • Very good stuff man! You will survive the shit whenever it will come down on us all hehe

  • @me123173 you need to shoot a bow that's the right draw length for you.

  • I bought a bow that is 50 lbs at a 28 inch draw weight. im only a 24 inch draw length though. do you think that will take down a deer?

  • @me123173 it will take down a deer but you will lose some poundage with the shorter draw. the weight of the arrow matters more than the poundage of the bow. and a good sharp arrow head is a must

  • @me123173 yep i got the same poundage n about the same draw lenght and my dad shoots less poundage than me and he has killed 8 or 9 animals with it

  • @me123173 yeah that will work if your using on a whitetail, here in mn the smallest legal draw weight is and Btw this may have gone up but but a 38 lbs draw weight, though naturally you could kill them with a 35 lb draw weight so you have more then enough power.

  • I've seen you miss a deer high, and wound a deer high. Maybe you should aim lower?

  • You eat deers right? You don't just shoot them for fun?

  • good she survived

  • @lordyannick fagg

  • Can you get a hunting license for a self bow??

  • @fireballzofhell no cause it falls under an archery licence

  • doe boy

  • Looked to like a non lethal shoulder shot. I could be wrong. A bit high, I think.

  • At least put a shirt on.

  • I wouldn't of had the patience.

  • FUCK YOU , YOU FUCKIN ASSHOLE , ITS JUST AN ANIMAL , YOU FUCKIN BASTARD

  • @Bittenforce

calm down u fuckin pussy, why are u watch it if u dont like it ??? just take a few minutes an look how the animals suffering if they get slaughtert for ur hamburger meat from walmart .... please shut the fuck and grow up.

  • Nice video man! Im giving up my compound and going primitive next season. Im going to try and make a hunting weight longbow, but If im not successful by spring, Ill have to buy one so I have all summer to get proficient. I hit a deer too high with my bow this season and she got away. I was sick cause I thought she suffered and died and I couldnt find her. I tracked fine drops of blood for about half a mile before I lost it. She showed up on my trail cam just a bald spot left now. Healthy!

  • Shot was high into the shoulder blades maybe 6 inches lower and you would have made meat. Still, I have one lost deer to my credit. No fault here. Shot her dead in the ass, never could figure out how. Tracked her for two hours, found the arrow, and exactly one drop of blood. Barring infection she was grazing grass on the golf course that evening.

  • shit happens man, if wild animals died from every cut or hole that got put in them there would be no wild animals. animals routinely survive getting tore up by wolves, lions etc...doubt anything as minor as this would cause long term damage, the only thing that ends up screwed from injury is a predator, last time i checked deer didnt need to chase their food.

  • What do the tufts of fur on the strings do?

  • @TensionAirsoft The fur on the strings are called 'string silencers' as they silence the string when you fire

  • all i can say man is i hope the deer didnt wind up dyin off somewhere slowly

and im not tryin to put u down either i love archery and huntin and im just sayin my peace keep up the good vids man

  • slo mo ftw! nice shot too!

  • jw, is it even legal to hunt deer with home made bows?

  • @guitarmaster2477 yea as long as it has a high enough draw weight its no different then any other bow so why not ?

  • @joec123able that is true. i just didnt know if they outlawed that because theres nothing official that says its the draw weight the person who made it says it is.

  • @guitarmaster2477 all theyd have to do is check your draw weight if they didn't beleive it

  • BT, Megadeth, AND primitive bowhunting all in the same video? Are you my long lost brother?! Nice taste, man.

Shame about the miss. Anything short of a clean kill always sucks, but at least it looked like a relatively harmless spot that shouldn't cause much suffering or long term damage.

    Rock on, brother.

  • I personaly would like to rely on traps... build fences and grass feed and traps. To wait all day to try to shoot animal from short distance ..it is good for funn. to hunt, But people dont get borned with fangs and sharp teeth, they are borned with brain in head ... If I want meat, I will aragne conditions for animal to step into snare eye and meat is on table. Hunting usualy doesnot pay of investment of time. Watch Ray Mears hunting fish with spear :) it was funny - two small fish:)

  • That was awesome. Nice job

  • Nice shot man! Got any tips for a rookie?

  • I don't know if you remember my question but you never answered it. Did you ever get over your living target fear? I noticed it myself faced with the challenge I did best on a moose as it provided a large enough target that I never felt threatened of missing & passing on shot.

  • very nice shot

  • Great hunt billy. It's all the name of the game, it's amazing that you can practice for months with your bow and be very proficient with it but when nerves and adrenaline kick in it's usually a whole different story !

  • Nice shooting! :)

  • why in the hell would you kill a doe

  • @ray99vic because antlers dont taste good

  • So much for people being civil. I swear, you could've hit the deer right in the pump station and dropped it like a rock, and people would still talk shit. "Your middle finger is an inch low, and everyone knows fraggle rock was the best puppet show.. noob!!"

The fuck is wrong with everyone?

  • ok you know what everyone just shut up. for those who are making rude comments ok. thousands of primitive archers including i have done this. i shot a deer with a stone broadhead made from obsidian and found the 15 piont buck on another hunt 2 days laterr the wound was scared over and the deer charged me so fuck off you low life peices of shit

  • you know that dear should of dropped so fast tho, that looked like it hit the spine but what pound is that bow?

  • thats real hunting dude... u smoked that deer..... whenever u get that show i'd be sure to watch

  • @mixumup1 so u missed,, but that was still an awesome hunt

  • Hit was four inches high. Except that it might have been in the spine, where you don't get much blood or maybe in the shoulder cuff which would simply cripple the deer on her right side. Dude, that was fail.

Meanwhile we have a hunter talking shit to other people on the Internet and damaging the perceptions of hunting for all the poor unfortunate idiots who know nothing more than youtube and morons who believe that no cattle were harmed in the preparation of that BIG MAC.

  • ok you know what just hop off ok. brcause of the techniques ive seen on his videos i was able to make 350 bows and each is nearly 100 pounds. and yovinny100 i wanna see you make a bow like that and have the balls to go hunting with it.so u cann all either go to a different video or watch the damn thing so you all can suck it. and you hunti with your shirt off to hide ur scent dumbasses

  • Don't know if you made the bow yourself, but it looked awfully store bought to me. Regardless of how you acquired it, you need to practice with it. In a true survival situation, you would've screwed yourself with your poor aim. Deer lives, you die, because your ego trip convinced you that you were a better shot than you were.

Oh, the shirt off moment didn't do anything for us non gay viewers. Totally unnecessary. And if you can't handle criticism, don't post your videos, wussy.

  • the funny part is over half of the people posting bad comments all shoot compound "bbows" and guns how can u post bad comments on something like this ween uve never tryed it

  • @joec123able because there a bunch of low life pussies who cant take the thought of putting good hard work behind there bows... love the video billy

  • @jonah214 yep so true

  • All in all I would agree this was great video footage. How ever I do not like the idea of somebody deer hunting and shooting a deer and not at least attempt to go find it in case you actually did make a clean kill shot. Now I won't be like others and say "you need to stay out of the woods" but attempt to go look for her. Great video though, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even if you did kill her and you didn't know about it, it's an easy meal for coyotes and fresh fertilizer for plants to grow.

  • Dude, awesome footage, i agree it was too high, but on a positive note, because of the silence of selfbows, the viewers should notice that this deer didnt "jump string" as they say, like with louder bows. She never moved til the arrow touched her. Shooting low to high is tough, was that you first shot setup like that? Prob nicked her spine or shoulder blade

  • Your videos are very informative and entertaining. I subscribed.

  • nice shot.

  • NICEEEEEEE

  • Ah, the ol' Half Naked Man Standing in a Drainage Ditch gag. Completely unexpected, I commend you, good sir.

  • @Jacko643 haha.. Good catch

  • Now I can't get how cavemen survived.

  • what is the poundage of this bow?

  • hey fuck those ass holes ok ur fuckin awsome i do the same thing but i hunt with a 45lb recerve bow

  • @vision7ish and thaats probably why you are also a failure in life....retards... -_-

  • i think you epic :)

  • I think the fact you even had a shot shows u have skill. Shoot upwards like that is a hard shot one noone really trains for.

  • most of the ppl on here tht dont know wat there tlkin bout theres to many ppl who underestimate the primitive bow but if it kept our ppl alive for thousands of years then u should know its effective ppl now think a bow is a peace of metal with pulleys and sights with aluminum and carbon arrows theres no way u can call that a bow ........... and good Job Tht bows more then capable of taking a deer

  • the first time he rewinded it im like wtf how did the deer shoot the arrow at him o it was rewinded

  • some times u shoot the deer, follow the deer tracts till the deer dies

  • If you shoot hit and it runs, you chase that beast down. No excuses. So the bow didn't put him down? Good now you give the kill to your knife.

  • hey fauck face, get it right, if you dont give life then dont take life. your mother will be shame of you

  • ok you hit it , but im disappointed that you did not kill it *correct me if you did.

but if you did not , that deer would of been in allot of pain :/

  • omg dude. megadeth song? fuck yeah man. Hey good shot under presuure.

  • now theres some good jerky.

  • Im a vegetarian and I thought that was badass. Unfortunetely the dear didnt go down. were you aiming for the neck? I have been watching these videos for survival situations and its just cool to see that patience pays.

  • @maemuaythai deer* lol

  • why in the hell did u post this on YouTube?! This gives the anti's an excuse for taking away our hunting rights!!

  • Look...sorry for the namecalling. That was out of line. My apologies. Please- use modern equipment for projectiles. If you'd like to debate the abilities of knapped heads vs broadheads we can both compile links to videos showing deer actually RECOVERED using each kind.... Sorry for the insult, man. My bad. Just cut the crap, ok? Hunting as humanely as possible means taking every step to ensure you actually RETRIEVE your game, ie actually killing it instead of wounding it. Think about it, ok?

  • Just keep practising. That was close. aim just bit lower...

  • Back in the old times when that arrow was used the hunter would have gone after the deer on foot right after the arrow flew. He would shot it with another arrow or he would have used a spear and/or a knife to finish the animal off.

  • dude tuff luck but your still an official badass in my book

  • Why kill the doe?

  • poor thing. i hope that you get better and are able to get the next one though. :)

  • You have the power to rewind time and your hunting deer?!

  • gettin that close is tough, a few feet farther away would have been perfect. win some lose some. I shoot recurve instinktive myself. only thing negative ill say is, if the natives had steel they wouldve used it. i got a friend made a awsome shot on a doe with a naped flint point, never recoverd her. good luck on the next brother

  • nice music, love megadeth.

  • Nice try man. Screw all these haters. They are just jealous. Nice videos. My son is making his own bows now with your instructional videos.

  • It's true that deer and almost all wild animals have a higher resistance to wounds than domestic animals but that's no reason to go poking holes in animals. Have some respect man. If you want to get a taste of what it was like in the primitive days why don’t you practice and learn how to shoot a bow first? By the way you were holding that bow it was obvious that the shot was going to be too high. Where the hell are you anyway? Not sure about the rules but is it legal to hunt does over there?

  • Was the deer's steack nice?

  • Bummer, dude! You'll get the next one, I know it. Just got to watch that adrenaline rush, huh?

  • Nice try, she did jump the arrow a bit, thats the way it happens some times.

  • if your going to hunt with primative tools please practic and KNOW that you can put the animal down with one shot. i dont think your shot placement was the issue. it seems you designed your arror wrong or the bow didnt have a strong enough draw. were you using the heavier typical native american arrow head design or the lesser known straight sleeker design ? a straighter narrower arrow works much better in those types of settups..the larger fat arrows were used with heavy bows or spears

  • Nice bow! Could you sell me some bow like that? send me a e-mail,

    zetepaixao@uol.com.br

    Obs: I live in Brazil

  • Nice attempt bro! I took a deer last year and when we were cleaning it, we came across an old arrow head probably 5+ years old. I know how it feels to miss

  • Comment removed

  • @yogeetarzan Wow, so not only do we have mind readers on youtube, but now we have a know-it-all armchair commando posting comments from the safety of his couch and hiding behind the anonimity of the internet. Einstein....deer have incredible healing capabilities. They wouldn't have survived for millions of years if every splinter caused pus pockets and gangrene. Believe me, I'm not going anywhere near your woods...All your turds and toilet paper scattered everywhere would make me sick!

  • @primitivepathways

I don't think I'd equate an arrow with a splinter. I understand your point, but you just countered his presumptuous comment with an equally ridiculous straw man. This is why, if you get a troll in the comments, it's best to ignore the comment. Replying to it makes you both look like school children.

  • Comment removed

  • @tory445828196 Really? And do what? Surf youtube and post assinine comments on people's youtube channels like you do? Or hide behind the anonimity of the internet so I can post those comments from afar? No thanks bub. I'll keep doing what I do because I love it, and I don't hate others for their passions. I bet if you spent as much time focusing on bettering yourself as you do trolling on youtube, you'd probably be a lot farther along in life.

  • @primitivepathways awesone comment billy don't take any notice from these fools

  • @primitivepathways dont listen to that guy hes a dummass your cool

  • @tory445828196 hey um fuck off ok u need to stay off of youtube not him

  • Comment removed

  • @primitivepathways He is frickin exactly right... war hero.... You screwed the pooch unless you spent a few hours trying to track that doe on your hands and knees. I'm just sayin' because I have DONE it son.

  • @yogeetarzan screw all of yall billy is a great hunter nd its great that someone is still trying to keeep traditions going nd billy i think i know wat mite help u with your missing problem aim a little lower theen were u want to hit bc the deer will here the snap of the bow and hunker down causing the hunter to shoot over... Better luck next time

  • Comment removed

  • @yogeetarzan i have to agree with Kyle, i have seen a deer that i have shot. with a similar wound with a gun and it was fine. there ability to heal and live is far greater then most humans. as long as the arrow did not stay in it the deer more then likely lived, if not. there are more then enough animals that would of benefited from the deer's death.

  • @yogeetarzan deer shot even with a carbon or aluminum arrow if you dont hit a spot where there are either vital organs or major vessels or bones the deer is going to go off and heal. its not going to get gangrene stupid ass. and in primitivepathways defense thousands of hunters including myself still use the recurve bow. or the "primitive bow". so learn your shit dumb ass.

  • Comment removed

  • @yogeetarzan he has a point. i hit a doe last year and after about 2 hours of tracking the trail was lost. but she was spotted by a friend of mine. she was limping but other than my broadhead in her shoulder she survived with no puss at all. and she is still alive today. gotta get her though, i want my broadhead back.

  • Everyone who is "bashing" this way of hunting is really uneducated on the effectivness of the primitive bow. Kudos to you primitivepathways for hunting the hard way. As a Traditional bowhunter myself I understand how much practice it takes and as well as understanding how rewarding the end result can be when you harvest an animal with just a simple stick and string...Everyone else that is badmouthing this video, I welcome you to try it!

  • hi there

good god ....it seems no one gets it.....this is hunting at its most basic form...its thanks to this type of hunting we are even here....i have gone out hunting killed, skined, cooked, and eaten what i have got.....just dont slag of this guy for what you cant do....

    good post...well done mate

    mickytwoknives

  • Are you even using a broad head on that arrow

  • great vid. they all just jelious that they dont have the balls to try something like that. no way every shot can be a kill shot when hunting with a bow or other primitive weapon. an yep i bet the deer is still running around with a hight back shot like that.

  • nice shirt

  • Cool but work on amay

  • still a top shot

  • go out with a weapon that can kill the prey or dont go out at all. Bow hunting with modern bows is bad enough, but you went out with a pretty low expectation of being to kill a deer with that thing.

  • @xtheshame "go out with a weapon that can kill the prey"? Silly natives and their thousands of years hunting successfully with bows, what idiots, you'd think they would have found a way to feed themselves and last thousands of years.

  • @xtheshame how is a modern bow bad. you get one shot and its miss or hit, sure sometimes the hit in no lethal but there are way more gun hunters that shot one, miss and then keep shooting as its running away not knowing if they will hit it or not. so dont be knockin bow hunters when guns do the same things, i get the point but if your going to say something do it so you dont sound like a retard.

  • @MNgunslinger08

I said modern bows are bad enough because the animal takes quite some time to bleed out. Hunting personalities aside, bows dont drop the deer in with most shots and it would take a miracle to kill a deer in under 5 seconds with an arrow.

Idk wtf ur talking about tbh.

  • @xtheshame Wow looks like my life is set with seeing plenty of "miracles" in my lifetime. i have shot multiple deer that have died within 10 seconds and shot with and bow & arrow so ''idk wtf your talking about''. do you even hunt or are you just talking on an uninformed information. i dont get how hunting with a bow is any more unethical than with a gun, i use gun and bow so im not even being bias just useing common sense which is a "miracle" some obviously dont have.... cough....you :)

  • nice job hitting that deer in the back, you fucking deer wounding dirty back shooter...

  • ok for all you guys who are dising this guy. look at yourself and think. at least this guys got the balls to hunt with his own bow that he made and it could snap at anytime so guess what fuck off no one want to hear you complain gget off youtube and go hug a fucking tree

  • awesome vid. I shot my first deer in the same exact spot only to find no blood or trail since it was during a rain. Dont llisten to the arm chair commentators who have no idea the feeling is like when you finally do land a deer with an arrow.

  • The fact that the deer ran away after it was shot is fine. Many times even a fatally wounded animal will run up to 500 metres away due to the adrenaline. Even so, a wounded animal can still be tracked and killed, as it leaves a blood trail. It is still best to kill it quickly though.

  • that arrow head is too tiny. but props to you for actually using a bow and arrow

  • it didnt even look like u put a full draw on it

  • HORRIBLE shot...

I did not think I would say this, but you really don't have respect for the animal, or you would PRACTICE a LOT more.

  • @poopstreek there is alot of difference between practice and the real thing.

  • @assassin616 He missed by a mile, and has no business pretending that he is a bow hunter.

  • I really enjoyed your video. Gettin out there with no fancy camo gear on, and actually landing a shot on a deer with a primitive style bow. To bad theres lots of haters on here bitching and moaning about your video. Im sure most of them are all armchair assholes anyways. I can't wait to get a good bow and get my OG hunt on.

  • this is the reason i dont like bow hunting for big game get yourself a rifle

  • Stone age! rofl you white moronic cave men were still scavenging or throwing rocks.Native Americans made the bow and Africans used spears to start.

  • @MrPenobe mongols actually made the bow, thats how they conquered all of asia

  • @FueledByTyeler bows have been around longer than that. i;m sure they where used for that. but there a hell of a time gap between when they where made and used for that.

  • Every hunter is entitled to a bad shot and an inhumane kill but a 50 # self bow shoots slower then molasses in the winter time and has awful penetration. Add a stone point to that and you are kidding yourself. There comes a point when you have to decide weather you are a serious hunter or just playing cowboys and Indians. Minimum you need is a 60# self bow 400 grain arrow and a serious razor sharp broad head. 50# modern composite bow or a 45# compound. Big guy like you should be rocking a 70#

  • Comment removed

  • f these haters man... your a hero. thats what you call real hunting. keep your head up, your a freakin beast.

  • @afitch1800 dbag

  • i know why you didnt kill it ... U DIDT HAVE A BROAD HED ... AND U CALL UR SELF A HUNTER

  • @loganwilson11 Actually it did have a stone point on the arrow. But the bad shot placement is the reason why the deer ran off. Believe me, that deer healed up and is just fine.

  • @primitivepathways poor shot placement? it doesn't get much better than that shot... are you sure it didn't kill her?

  • @primitivepathways Healed up and is just fine?Believe you? Post the evidence.Deer do not have magical powers that prevent their death from injury, Ace.Not to mention the pain it had to endure Maybe she was ALSO impervious to pain, HMMM?Like the pain from that stone lodged just below her spine? Look,dipshit-make your stick bows and stick arrows.Shoot at your little straw targets.Have a blast! Just quit making the rest of us look bad by practicing inhumane hunting techniques on live deer, mmmkay?

  • you winey little bastards go buy your 500 dollar bows and hunt like the weak domesticated creatures you are.

  • @sallymofo1 Look, bitch- I don't bowhunt.I hunt with a $179 muzzleloader and a $300 Remington 770 piece of shit .270 that CAME with the fucking scope. $500 bow??? Rofl Hell, sis- I use the cheapest leadnose Federalammo money can buy when I hunt! I process my own deer, fer cryin' out loud. We don't buy beef. We don't buy CHICKEN, for that matter, because I raise and slaughter rabbits. We garden and freeze our own veggies. Domesticated, INDEED.Go wash some dishes and mind yer own business....

  • @loganwilson11 And you're an illiterate asshole.

  • niiiiiiicee!!!!

  • youre a real man, primitivepathways!

  • Im pretty sure at the beginning of Man vs. Wild it says do not attempt.

  • Put a broad head on that arrow dumbie!!!

  • cool .can we see you making that bow and arrows .kind of wood ,,string, and arrow point . i tryed when i was 16 with a spear only hit one ..never brought one down

  • Nice shot. right in the lung. lol nvm didnt see it bounce off XD

  • Nice shot. right in the lung.

  • this actually isnt a rewind of history only medieval and later hunters used the bow. Indians used an adaldl which was a spear but was slingshotted and earleir hunters used spears.
