  • you should get the music written by Eddie Van Halen, so you can play the correct notes and chords. Most of what you are playing is correct, but much is wrong too.

  • 1:56

  • for those of you with Yamaha's at home (PSR-295), add touch, harmony, and dual settings, best voicings are: 341 Big Lead 018 Rock Organ 019 Purple Organ 095 Square LD 096 Saw. Lead*** 101 Fargo******* Saw lead & Fargo are the best by far; Fargo has the changing overtone to it, so it makes the bass sound pretty rad. Saw lead has a slightly fuzzier sound to it. Thanks so much :)

  • i like the fact that not only u have inclueded the right version, but also the full lesson-props to u man, props, and i gotta hand it to you, u know what ur doing and ur a great teacher-keep rocking!

  • nice video ^^ but you have to talk a little bit and say what part of this song you are playing at this moment.

well, my version is a little bit different ^^ but i don´t have a teaching video .. ;)

when i have the time i will also make a video like this , but .... i like your video, because you want to help others to play this song

    nice, 5stars !

  • For those who do not have a Roland, or can't find a sound like this: On your keyboard there should be a set of tones called "GM tones". Look through that section and you should find the right tone (or voice). On a Casio, you would use SawLeadG or SqrLeadG, or even CharangG. Hope this helped. And Great tutorial! I've almost got the first part down pat.

  • @redvsblueviewer thanks! hey whats the difference of gm and normal sounds??

  • @redvsblueviewer Should've looked through comments before I asked. Thanks for listing these!!

  • @ashley3scene Yea, no problem :)

  • Some parts are not right... and if you play like the song after every part It would be easier to undertand...

    whatever...

  • thanks a bunch !

  • Thank you so much for uploading this; by doing so you enabled our band to be able to learn and perform this in record time and play a really great party; thank you Bob for your thankless time spent on this

  • Wrong note's my friend.....!

  • @cdprixfou1: Fausse orthographe, mon ami! Should be "notes"! Am glad bobsmithie at least tried so hard to show us some useful chords - and: nobody is perfect, right?

  • this really helps fill in the holes; I looked up the preview version and got the first line; then the other preview tyupe where it'

s just small; and you can barely make it out but I get it eventually. Too bad my keyboard doesn't go that low. I goes to the upper C in the bass that you play in the beginniing.

  • Yeah, you might as well jump.

    Go ahead and jump.

  • Very good, man. An useful tutorial!

Just let me say the high octave variation on the main riff begins with C and not Cadd9 as you do. Nice job, altogether!!!

  • try also to see our mtv "Tamse Remastered". i'm using x5d

    (giovincofan)

  • Jazzer, DUH, OF COURSE I am holding them wrong, it is called a HOW TO video for a reason, dummy, it is so that people can see which keys I am playing.

  • if i had an keyboard, i will play, xD

  • fuck u

  • good job

  • Thx. Nice.

  • tripods are handy little inventions.

  • i think the video gets its message accross just fine wit out one...

  • COOL

  • where can i find ur midi file ??

  • what is the name of that sound?i mean the effect..

  • brass..

  • the name of the effect is synthosized pads, not brass.

  • nice

  • Excellent job but the chord at 6:24 does not not sound right

  • Thank you sooo much!

  • what the fuck is that music in the back

  • Excellently done. One correction, however. During the main "Jump" riff, on the 4th repition, the chords jump on higher. The chord he has blocked is FGC, while the official Van Halen sheet music from their keyboard songbook has it as a standard F Major chord: FAC. Otherwise, stellar.

  • gracias x ponerlo.....esta buena la rola....bueno sigue poniendo mas de van jalen.....saludos...

  • Somebody's playing with a ball machine in the background... I hear Flight of the Bumblebee...

  • thanks for this

  • thanks for that, learnt it right away from the slowness it really helps thanks a heap!

  • After following along with multiple videos and incorrect MIDI files, I believe the version presented here to be the most correct sounding, if not 100% perfect.

Thanks for going slow on that solo, I couldn't get that one on my own!

Overall - everyone wanting to learn Jump, this is the definitive video.
