SAS does not have any 767 anymore, now they use Airbus. I visited SAS flight Academy back in 2004, they had sold their 767’s but still had the 767 simulator. Apparently it was booked solid by other airlines. A Polish crew was up next after my hour.
was that your own or did you pay to use it? and can you but your own? Thats very cool when it lands i didnt think it would make to bump as if you landing in those sims!
Well that's not true... they take turn flying you know but yes the left seat is in command of the airplane. I was pretty happy to be in the right seat. The second time I was there I sat in the left seat. We didn't have any reporters in the simulator then...
yes because the SAS Flight Acedemy would really be stupid enough to not know how a plane is flown. if you are an 'aviator legend' you should know a simple fact like this. YOU CAN FLY THE PLANE FROM BOTH SEATS!
Flaring too early is a common problem for student pilots during their pilot lessons. Good one for landing the full motion simulator, if you can fly the simulator you can fly a real aircraft thats for sure
I know, I also landed a bit on the side... It was my first landing in a real full motion simulator. I'm used to the LDS767-300 in MS Flight sim... The real deal is a bit different. My landings got better but my friend stopped filming. :( At least we survived and everything where within limits. ;)
Well the main difference is that the simulator is moving so you can feel how you fly. The graphics in this old simulator feels like MSFS98 but you soon forget about that. The simulator has almost 180 degree view and the graphic is smooth which simplifies flying and your situation awareness.
If you can handle the LDS767 you can differently fly a full motion simulator. You feel like home. I thought it would be harder to control here but she is really smooth. That's why I flared too early the first landings. After awhile you understood how fast she reacts on your input. One thing that I had problems with was how to move the seat forward and up... it is not simulated in the LDS767. :)
bad landing xD
