Great use of boone co sherrifs dept. , there was definately not any important crime like people getting shot and robbed behind hickman high every weekend. Glad we use our police so well , what happened to protect and serve ?
he was wrong and doesnt get special treatment just because hes a coach. thats not how it works. he was driving under the influence and therefore should be punished since he was caught. some people are just too dumb to see the wrong he did, maybe it shoulda took him killing someone for you people to see that he was wrong and should have beent arrested.
I am embarrassed for pinkel, mizzou football, Columbia, boone county sheriffs office, and, most of all, for pinkels family. Seems to me that the horizontal eye test was unnecessarily administered for an extreme length of time. DWI, DUI, ETC...BOTTOM LINE...IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!
You can bitch and complain all you want, pinkel was driving intoxicated, that was HIS fault no1 else's, the cop was just doing his job. What if pinkel hit and killed your son or daughter or wife. U wouldnt be bad mouthing the cops then. A College coach should know better, hundreds of college kids get caught for dwi a year.
@jaydubkillab Nearly 3 mins the arresting officer did the eye test. You should be able to see his eyes jump in less than a min if he is actually intoxicated. He proceeded further just looking for an arrest. Do cops get off to booking high profile people?
The officer is required to go through the entire test....begins by checking the eyes and make sure the pupils are the same size and the eyes track from side to side, then two passes on each step, checking for lack of smooth pursuit, then he checks for nystagmus at maximum deviation, and then nystagmus onset prior to 45 degrees. Then he checks for vertical nystagmus. If he didn't do the test correctly, it would be thrown out in court.
