  • no excuse dick head

  • what song were they playing

  • @ganton34kk Dani California, The Heart Animation Makes it Obvious, Greetings!!

  • AHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA he is so funny, even when he` angry !

  • flea looks like an old man when he's mad

  • @marcusishardcore If something getting repetitive gives you the right to snap on someone, you would all be dead. Trust me, I'm a janitor.

Flea has no right. I remain by my words.

Treating anyone like this is inexcusable, let alone over a sound problem that probably wasn't the techs doing.

Watch the Jane's Addiction documentary. Flea is a dick to several people, because he hasn't gotten his ham sandwich.

Dude's a jerk. Let it go.

  • @UtBDan he's definitely NOT a jerk. everyone gets mad sometimes.

  • @jyankeesrock did you see my original reply? I met Flea. He is a jerk. If you've also watched Funky Monks or the Jane's Addiction documentary, he asks like he's above everyone else and entitled to something. His actual personality is the opposite of the one he presents in interviews.

He's still my favorite bassist (if not musician), but the guy is a jerk.

  • And this is what happens when Flea wears a shirt...

  • I disagree with the comment that superlou has that this is OK.

Part of being a musician is being respectful, to me. I met the guy after a show and he wouldn't give an autograph because he then "would've had to give one to everyone."

John Frusciante then proceeded to give an autograph to everyone.

Flea sat in the bus 5 feet away and watched.

I just don't see how anyone treating anyone else like this is excusable, let alone over a sound problem that probably wasn't the tech's doing.

  • @UtBDan sign autographs for 10+ years to annoying people who just want to know everything there is about, and be asked the same questions over and over and over again. i'm sure you would get tired of signing autographs too.

  • fleas just not the same with his shirt on..

  • he cried

  • Punk rock bass =D! It's still alive!

  • I thought he was pretty nice about it actually.. whats he gonna say.. do you fuckin job dude.. gimme somethin that works

  • If you're in a pressure situation like a live show, and your instrument craps out, then you yell for your tech and he doesn't have a replacement, you would be pissed too, both from urgency and rightful anger. Techs are paid to be ready for that shit.

  • oooh, Flea ain't a bad guy ! Just a pro.

They will laugh about it later on.

  • no feckin sound ....:(

  • I was at this concert!$!$!

  • why did flea have to go off on his bass tyech?? fuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!

  • no sound for anyone else?

  • fley sux

  • @vzsozs your grammar sucks, cunt.

  • @vzsozs your mom sucks my dick&flea's too!!!

  • looks like dani california :P

  • the heart makes this kinda ironic

  • i think flea is screaming at the tech cuz he forgot to turn the sound on.thats why the video has no sound

  • mistakes happen you idiots..lol..but ole boy was like...what?...huh?...what?...ohh ...lol

  • yup complete waste of flesh hence his n'aim'e

  • lmfao..is there any sound to this video cause i cant hear anything??

  • what happened? did he bring the wrong bass?

  • lol being fleas bass tech would suck... way too much to live up to... the best bass player ever deserves the best bass tech ever i suppose

  • funny! bass tech can say...yeah Flea almost pushed me off stage in concert :)

  • That is a part of the show...to make it more dramatic

  • Wow, this is the first time I see flea act like a douchebag.

  • @perrofrio type in "flea breaks bass" and look at the i like dirt performance if you wanna see some really angry flea :D

  • @perrofrio

He's not being a douchebag, the tech was COMPLETELY in the wrong for 1) not hearing his bass go

    2) for not having his bass ready when called

    3) for taking so long to get it to him.

It seems drastic if you don't understand the guys job, realistically though any other band would've kicked him down the stairs. Like its his job AND they're playing a stadium concert, shit like that can't afford to go wrong.

  • @tvrulesnation you couldn't be more right man

  • @tvrulesnation This.

  • Is that a shirt on Flea? Ha LOL :D

  • what happened ??? A string broke?

  • The anger with the heart of love in the background is classic.

  • why no sound?

    by the way,

third "flea pissed off" video is where they are playing if you have to ask jam on off the wall and chad didn`t stop when john and flea stopped playing.

  • I'd bet my own bass that one was out of tune.

That'll scare the crap out of a musician on stage.

  • @metalrose42 not fun playing with an out o tune git fiddle, no fun at all! i played this one classroom gig for school in king george solo which scares the crap out of me because i gots de stage frights, and i was playing electric peice of crap with no amp and out of tune with the shaky voice and the shaky legs and i never wanna do that again, so its really not fun at all to have an out o tune git fiddle on stage in front of a lot of people like that, id be mad but not that mad lol

  • You're fired....

  • lucky he getted his best looking bass:D

  • Yea, no one can say Flea's out of line for being mad, whatever it was that went wrong. When you're a bass tech for one of the biggest bands in the world, and they're in the midst of playing for 20,000 plus fans, and the rig isn't set up EXACTLY how Flea wanted it, you have not done your job. You've gotta keep in mind that whoever that tech was is getting paid considerably well to make sure everything is perfect, and if it's not, he's officially not done his job. What a same.

  • i'm think i'd most likely bitch slap flea

  • @BleedingBoner why? cuz he said "hurry up and go get me another bass cuz that's your job and we're playing a concert right now"?

  • @evnz8 yep

  • @BleedingBoner hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Besides Flea being the way he is you guys need to realize that when you're doing something live things need to go almost perfect and if something is wrong, especially with the bass (beat keeper), it throws everyone off. Not only that it's like when you go to a restaurant and order a steak but they give you a burger. It's just not what you wanted.

  • they were playing dani california :D

  • these guys are crazy, especially flea and kiedis. they behave like people that didn´t get enough love in their childhood. always looking for attention...still with 40 something...

  • @captainoctopussy piss off. how would you react if something went wrong when you were playing in front of thousands of people? The sound technicians are paid a ton of money to make sure everything goes perfectly. How is this flea looking for attention?

  • @HiiRandall

I am glad that flea only is in show biz. Im agine he was a doctor and the nurse is doing something wrong..you would probably say.."how would you react if the nurse does something wrong? it is about lives..so it is ok if you hit her in her face.." by the way, how do you know how much money a technician gets paid? you are just a 13 year old kid, you don´t know anything about it

  • @captainoctopussy

The tech has got to be prepared. Plus Flea didn't seem as pissed as he seemed panicked. When you're playing for THAT many people getting paid THAT much you expect them to be able to hear you when you need to be heard.

  • Guys, I can understand that Flea is pissed. That's everyones nightmare.

I can't understand that the tech guy just stands there. He should hold fleas bass allready.

  • they played at u of i? that does not look like assembly hall

  • He is just high energy. BTW, a video without sound? Are you kidding me? what is this - the 1920s? Faques sake, people.

  • flea can be a diva. i've seen it up close and personal. he runs very hot and cold, emotionally.

  • fleas da man!!!

  • dont fuck with flea and his bass

  • I love him

this little things make me love him more than I love him now

  • man, its the techs job to get it right...

  • I'm a huge Flea fan and the bass tech may indeed have fucked up, but...you don't put your hands on someone. That's grounds for a good choke-hold.

  • haha i don't think Flea was actually p*ssed off to a major extent, it looks more like he is going along the lines of ''take this bass...where the fuck is the backup bass? cmon i need to get back into the song fast for fuck sake'''

(ie basically in a rush & doesn't want to be held up)

lol believe me he wouldn't just push him gently on the shoulders if he was P*ssed off.

    wheres the sound though?

  • That's what it looked like to me.

  • is it just me or is there no sound???

  • no sound

  • @djorfa2009 Nah you're probably just deaf, nothing to worry about :P

  • @djorfa2009 its just you. im sorry, but you are indeed def

  • @djorfa2009 its just you . no jk there's no sound

  • Haha, I can totally see him getting hyped up and losing his shit. He's an intense (but super nice) guy!

  • bad bass tech you notice somethings wrongs when yeah the bass goes haywire how do you not have another bass in your hand. dude i would of killed the bass tech.arent you suppose to chage the batterry every night your a bass tech for a famous band make sure flea is always set up

  • what song did they play?

  • his active pickup battery was dead

  • @SLiMxShANuS or a broken string

  • haha i was at this concert..damn i remember flea tweakin..i just remember the sound of the bass when it went haywire..loudest sound of my life..dont get me wrong..it was the best concert ive ever been to though

  • If I'd been the bass tech, I'd have wrapped the bass round his f*cking legs, he'd have played the rest of the set in a wheel-chair!

No matter how popular you are, you don't tret people like that!

1-2-3, bring on the abuse from anonymus, pimply children!

  • no you do your job, if you understood what people come to the show for you realize, tech doesnt go on stage, and always have the next bass ready

  • oh yeeaaah you're doing a million dollar concert and you play bass for rhcp and they give you a fucked up bass while thousands of people are expecting you to kick ass, and you wouldn't get pissed - good for you noble kind sir

  • Do any of you know what it says? If you're in a concert or show is a truism to say that being a bass-tech is your duty to do everything perfect or should be, because in a concert of this magnitude, you must pay attention. Flea is right. The musician who will understand.

  • No idea, but...if I was to take a wild guess...

If I were that bass tech, I would NOT walk up to take an instrument without having another one right there in hand, ready to go. I don't know what was wrong with the one he had, but maybe he was mad that he didn't have another right there. That would leave a guy hanging for sure.

I'd also guess that, at the end of the day, Flea loves that tech like a brother.

  • agreed, I'd imagine playing stadiums that size and having something fudge up on your bass can be really stressful. As a performer who really gets into it you have to keep the show going and you get antsy when things like this happen, and as a bass tech, it is YOUR job to fix it asap. Having played bass for relatively large venues, when something goes wrong you get stressed out and I think flea was acting out of stress, not "celebritism"

  • Boy it would be bad! I've played bass on the big stage a few times myself, and it's especially bad if we get hit with technical difficulties because we're holding it all up; no interruptions on bass go unnoticed.

In that same vein, I've learned to always have my rig in the car, even if they tell you there's a backline. Two months ago, my rig (Ampeg) found it's way up after two others failed (Carvins). You never know...!

  • the rigors of the road will get to the best of us every now and then

  • he said sorry after probably, he's just pumped

  • it looks like dani california but im not sure

  • this actually is really funny

  • Yeah guys hes not being a jerk that's there job and he needs a new bass immediatley so he cant be stalling

  • hahahahaha love the way anthony just stands like "wtf?"

  • that's hilarious, he just starts playing and dancing along like nothing happened

  • @ShitsThunder lol

  • @ShitsThunder

well what else would he do? idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • @Diisafatslag get a life you faggot

  • @ShitsThunder

    haha. i pwned you.

  • @Diisafatslag no you're a dickhead

  • @ShitsThunder

    great comeback there!

  • @Diisafatslag you are a dickhead, you've got nothing better to do than to reply to comments on a video made over a year ago

  • @ShitsThunder

    it's called being a professional

  • @ShitsThunder The show must go on, brother. Number one rule in the concert-playing business.

  • I think he was pissed at the situation. Not the tech man. You can`t replace strings or tune on the fly with the production they have now. Peppers play concerts, not gigs. That`s all that was.

  • Don't fuck with nihilists, man... they care about nothing! (Must be exhausting.)

  • he wants to stomp on it and squoosh it!

  • His bass really tied the concert together....

  • shut up, Bobtheparrot7. you're out of your element!

  • damn, now i gotta watch The Big Lebowski

  • what a great reference man! GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE!

  • Vee vant ze moneh or we cat off yoh jonssin

  • is there meant to be sound on this?

  • This Concert is???

  • Comment removed

  • It doesn't actually look like he's pissed at the bass tech. He just seems to hand it to him and then assumes the guy knows what to do. So when he's pushing him on the shoulder I think flea was thinking "just grab it and go" and the guy looked at him saying "what do you want me to do" and thats when he yells out what appears to be "new bass" and then motions "go go" with his arms. I Think it just appears he's pissed off.

  • negative. He's clearly pissed.

It doesn't matter though. I get pissed at the workplace all the time.

  • people make mistakes.

In this case, flea made the mistake of acting like a pompous rocker (which he never usually is) and the tech made the mistake of not doing his job.

    It's life.

  • I dont think flea is at fault here, he pays that tech to make sure eveything is ok. flea is left high and dry when things go wrong and he relys on his tech. its embarrasing when your standing there and your getting no sound, the song cant just stop

  • especially if it's "can't stop!" LOL

  • haha i didnt realize i wrote that

  • epic pun

  • @smoothpimpsta It was Dani California ;) on the chorus where the bass fucked shit.

  • The heart doesn't fit here..

  • I was at this show. He was definately mad at the bass tech because you could tell he apologized to him after the song was over. I think he was upset because the tech didnt bring up a new bass when flea took his off, I guess it was out of tune or something, didn't look like a broken string.

  • wheres the audio?

  • Just shows how much Flea cares about a peppers performance. He gives 150% on a live show, so when something fucks up, he wants it sorted immediately.

  • so naturally you assume hes just screaming at the bass tech? ever thought a string broke and the bass tech coudln't hear him with the crowd roaring (couple thousand people ain't quiet) so he had to be very dramatic to show him he needed a new bass. To me it even looks like hes saying "NEW BASS!"

  • i agree mabye, but if you look he pushes him like he's mad, it still looks like he says 'new bass' what ever...FLEA ROCKS

  • YEA....but if that ever happened to me i would just be like " its alright man.....just gimme the freakin right one now!!!!" lol..jk...but i wouldnt go off...

  • yea you would fucking go off if i was part of the best band in the world and my bass had technical problems (which a string did not break) i would go off and so would you you just don't want to be yelled at by those other dumbasses but i just yelled at you.

  • You didn't yell.

THIS IS YELLING. Haha yelling is a strange word if you say it 10 times ^^

  • when you've got a massive crowd in front of you and your tech fucks up and stalls you, i think you're allowed to have a moment of nervous anger, i'm sure he's not usually that mental with shit like that

  • no audio?

  • i think i wouldve flipped out too. Thats the only job he has to do during a show.....and he didn't do it....FIRED!!!

  • I completely agree, a bass tech should be ready with another bass straight away anyway...that's his job.

  • The Angry Aborigine from down Unda !

  • Looks like he broke a string, it happens.

  • I dont know wut i think about this,

The bass tech fuked up but Flea got a little to pissed off. Fleas an awsome bass player though, and in Scar Tissue, Anthony says Fleas a perfectionist so....

  • i think he is very much concerned about the show going on ... and that guy probably was ordered to just get a new instrument asap and he didn't ...

i really don't belive flea was angry with that guy ... he was surely just pissed that the bass stopped working

  • "i really don't belive flea was angry with that guy ... "

oh, no - who would be angry with someone who didn´t do exactly what he was supossed to do for a live show when there´s thousands of people watching and you can´t rock out when you HAVE to??? lol

  • i mean his focus wasn't on the guy, but on the instrument (like "damn why did it stop working?" and not "damn why isn't there a new bass 1 second after i broke mine?") ... sure the guy should have brought the new instrument right away ...

  • ITS NOT FASTFORWARDED NICK...jeez

  • I don't know flea personally (obviously) but it seems like one of those deals that he got caught up in the moment. I'm sure he apologized later!

  • I work live productions and this is why I refuse to do anything dealing with instrument.

I do LD and carry gear

  • loloololol

  • dude it took him THAT long to get another bass. that guy deserved what he got.

  • i can see where flea is coming from tbh id be annoyed if that happened to me, especialy if people had payed to see it in concert or something! poor guy getting yelled at tho :L

  • lol

  • Yeah he is being paid to do a job so he should do it properly. Flea isnt a bad guy either..just heat of the moment, there is no time for stalling in a live gig

  • what an artist, just goes on like nothing happend on the stage

  • yeah i agree with matt. flea is the man, but he's just being a dick right here.

  • Wich song were they playin?

  • i can understand y his mad, but like, if he wants it done any better y dont he try doin it himself:P lmao

like i love the guy, hes ma hero, but i think thats wat u call havin too much money

  • You have to understand.... he has a bass tech, and that guy is getting PAID! if flea breaks a string his bass tech should have a bass ready to go within atleast a coupla seconds.... its why he's there afterall... not to watch the band.

  • I don't blame him one bit.

I'd've done the same exact thing.

  • Im a musician and it can be extremely frustrating when you are trying to do your job but you can't because someone else didn't do theirs, flea reacted as he should have, if he just walked off and politely asked the guy to fix it all the fans would have been like wtf? He was trying to give them a show

  • lol I like how he totally returns back to normal after being so pissed off.

  • flea is the coolest person who ever lived

  • oh see this is perfect. that laid back peace loving hippy shit flies right out the window, when hes actually pissed off, and now all the the retarted flea groupies are gonna bitch about this comment and make up every bogus excuse in the book as to why Flea bugged out at the tech man. He yelled because he was annoyed, the same way everyone else does. Flea's a great bass player but i could have done without his holier than thou green party bullshit.

  • Amen to that, I totally agree :D

  • when you're paying someone to have your instruments tuned and in working order and you go on stage and it's not, i would be extremely pissed too.

  • yea man I agree with markbooher1, Flea is paying the tech man so ofc he will be pissed because hes whole preformance is depending on that bass, think before you post anything

  • yea i know y hes pissed off dude, all im saying is its funny how he talks all his hippy anti anger bullcrap and then goes and yells like every s.o.b he preaches to. ya know so maybe you should properley read a comment before responding to it

  • I know what you posted, and everyone can get pissed somehow, he is talking about happynes and all that, but hes whole carier started with "bass", and then some jerk can't get his done and Flea gets the bass that is out of tune, he is just a human ofc he will get pissed, you are talking like he can't get pissed sometimes, that is really stupid of you, no offence

  • can't get his work done**

  • this guy is amazing... he was pissed off.. and later with his other bass he jump like allways

  • I went to this show and it wasn't that big of a deal. Something was fucked up and it pissed him off, but a few songs later he walked over and they made what looked to be some apologies. Don't knock Flea. He wants his gear to be spot on and that's a given. We expect that from him and he expects that from a guy who's making bank stringing basses.

  • Is the second bass he gets when he goes back on stage his signature one from by the way?

  • looks to be

  • heh lol:D

  • Oh man, you do NOT piss off the Flea.
