  • There is no way she could have had a flashlight in that day and age.

  • @Damaris1034 No she could not have. The flashlight didn't get patented until 1899, and even then they did not have a constant beam, because the dry cell batteries at the time were FAR from capable of producing a steady current in the manner the woman has in the movie. She could not have had that kind of flashlight.

  • Can you fix the sound, please? I don't mean to complain, but it's just that it is hard to enjoy a movie when the sounds don't match the actions.

  • Love it when Belina starts talking, least Dorothy had someone for company to talk to.

  • The fuck? When the hell did they have flashlights in the 19th Century?

  • After the light bulb was invented.

  • When the story takes place it is 3 months before 1900 but I am guessing it was a very early form of a flashlight.

  • because by the time that happens she's already making her way to "OZ", that part isn't supposed to be Kanas anymore.

  • actually if you look it up online flashlights were invented in 1896 BEFORE the time in this story.

  • gosh, ide be frightend of a chicken too, hahahaha jk

  • i hate when the words aren't with the movie.

  • lol "a... CHICKEEEEEN?!?!?!" HAHA XD

  • The cries of the brain-damaged patients are provided by Brian Henson, son of Jim Henson.

  • Whoa creepy, brain-damaged patients, you mean epople who have received the treatment and been damaged mentally?

  • Yes, the doctor was undoubtably a quack who continued to use shock treatment on his patients even though it harmed them with what was thought then to be helpful, but those patients were obviously state wards, those who had no living relations to vouch for them, so how they were going to explain to the aunt when the she came for Dorothy the next day had they succeeded with going through with it is anyone's guess.

  • Maybe so... I thought those patients were simply patients and the doctor tried to cure them. What makes you think they were state wards and all that? (Just interesting to know.)

  • I actually think that the "girl" telling Dorothy about the "damaged" patients was triggered by Dorothy's fear of the asylum. Plus, the storm and the electricity going out did not help. In other words, it was all just part of the allusion, which eventually got of hand. Of course, I think the patients were really there. However, they were just fellow patients who were more f***** up than Dorothy.

  • In the movie, there's a possibility of that, but in the books, there's never an indication that she's imagining it all. Baum wrote them (at least the first one--it's the only one I've read so far)as if everything actually happened to Dorothy. The ending of the first book (which is way different than the 1939 movie ending) is a complete giveaway of the reality that she actually DID go to Oz.

  • shock treatment workd but u must give consent for it to be done on u

  • dude the little blonde girl scares me.

    "whats wrong?"

"she has a chicken with her"

    "A CHICKEN?!!?"

  • chickkkkkkkkkken???????

  • It's better than nothing at all!

  • yeah is there anyway you can fix that?

  • Thanks, but it's unwatchable with the sound messed up
