  • man I use to suck at this part.

  • Look at my videos, chump. You cheated. Hi Ben

  • cheater! watch my brother on my videos. that's how you play without turbo.

  • Usain Bold just got PWNED by an 8-bit man

  • O.K. people calm down it not like its real life ITS JUST A FUCKING VIDEO GAME

  • FUCK THE FUCKING FUCKERS

  • @izzykaladva That word is soo diverse.

  • You say no turbo was used, but yet there is no distinct noise from the button on the controller being rapidly pressed. Why is that?

  • @selim510 This was recorded with my VCR. So it's a direct feed from the screen. But I did have a video camera on my hands with the screen in the background for my submission to Twin Galaxies.

  • I wish I had my old NES I was a monster back in 86

  • your turbo controller is just a hair better than mine.

  • My turbo controller runs a 7.20.

  • same to me :D

    what's your best long jump?

  • Urine sample please.

  • If you insist....open wide!

  • you can tell it's rapid fire button since a human wouldn't have the same rhytm all race long.

  • You're saying I'm not human? You mean my family lied to me all this time!! I thought I was just adopted, not built. I feel sick now. Thanks.

  • I cant wait till people become that fast.....

  • Evolution no longer favors the strong because of our society. The weak can reproduce and therefore human beings aren't getting any stronger or in reality better in any way. The only way we will get faster is through technology.

  • I agree at least partially....

Grand Mixer DST (the guy who did the scratching on herbie Hanckocks 1982 hit ROCKIT) said that culture creates technology...

He was implying that because of the culutre of Hiphop, The TURNTABLE not only outlasted the tape deck and 8 track but its flurishing and its fqar more advanced then it ever was...

Technology to improving human speed I think more depends on improving our culture.. The culture will promote better technol;ogy

  • If our culture wishes to achieve non human speeds, and bio-engineering is ready for it, then yes.

  • YES AGREED..... Interesting discussion...

  • It's interesting, yes, but I have trouble seeing the practicality in this when we have cars and other means of transportation, and non-natural enhancement isn't allowed in competitions, so biologically engineered sprinters couldn't really compete.

  • whats the name of the other NES track game where u can use that mat to run

  • World Class Track Meet

  • Rapid fire button.....

  • oops thought it never posted ignore one post

  • I use to use a sock or my shirt to bash the buttons.. and i'd get full speed on all events.. i think i beat that time back in the day.. i'm unsure if nintendo had a turbo controller, i think that came out for supernes. trust me it's possible i use to do it.. My friend and i were champs at track and field. I stink now i have it for xbox360 live arcade if you have it you can join me live id is hotchamp75.

  • they did have a turbo controller, or you can use the satellite 4-player adapter

  • chk my track and field vids

  • If you check out my most recent video you might change your mind.

  • fair comment

  • ha ur using a turbo pad u nob

  • If you check out my most recent video you might change your mind.

  • you can see the speed top out at around 1500 and stay firm. Definitely not a standard controller. Scores achieved like this by methods of obvious turbo aids just demean the scores that true gamers achieve. Its a frustrating thing. Better verification methods need implemented. In fact Ill break out the old turbo controller and show you how similar it looks to his video.

  • I'm sorry you feel the way you do. Demeaning other gamers was the last thing I wanted to do by posting this vid. I was hoping to rile up some competition. Now you actually have me considering posting a vid with my tv and console in the middle of a big ass room, showing ALL the wires and back side of the tv and nothing else connected just to show you it can be done. I dont want to show my method on the controller, but I do want to show it's just me pressing the buttons. Sound cool?

  • Yes, that does sound cool. I'm not trying to say you're lying. I've set a few world records, some still stand, some have been broken. And I had people say I cheated, and it was annoying. It would shut people up if you recorded this with one take, one camera. Showing that only one nes is hooked up to the tv, and only one regular remote is hooked up to the nes. If you did this, you also wouldn't have to show your method. Otherwise, you are gonna be doubted b/c the records are so good.

  • You don't need a turbo controller!!! I used to own at this game when I was a kid. All you need is one of those fat pens or a magic marker. You take the pen and slide it back and forth along button A and button B on the old nintendo controllers to achieve lighting speeds.

  • i use to use a sock on my hand or your shirt. i think i beat that time when i was younger.. and would get full speed for long jump and javalin .. i have this game for xbox360 so if people want to challenge lets do it gametag is hotchamp75.. it's harder there to get those times. i had high 8.9 or something on 100 meters.

  • to think they excepted this time on Twin Galaxies. How lame is that. And a total score of over 3 million. It states on twin galaxies that all scores will be under close srutiny. Unlikely. Look at my video I posted to see what the use of a standard controller looks like.

  • Well you could easily have a nes console in front thats not even hooked to the tv but powered on and another nes with track and field behind the tv out of view with somebody controlling the start button.

  • I can recognize this as a turbo controller , guys believes me , this was used WITH turbo.

  • dont be bitter.

  • nah you're right man, it is totally turbo lol. But whatever makes the guy happy I guess.

  • The time was approved by Twin Galaxies. They required that the video shows my hands on the controller and the game in view. The tape has no edits or cuts and it also shows that only a standard NES controller is hooked up to the NES.

  • dude do high jump and ill bow down to you no matter how hard i try i always foul

  • I think the Advantage can accomplish this task since it has one of the best turbos.

  • I cant remember off the top f my head, but I think I have gotten around 7.20 with the advantage.

  • You are the first white person under 10 seconds

  • Hahahahah good observation he ain't black.

  • nice job, but you actually have to play it using the POWERPAD... hard as hell. although me and my brother would cheat like mad

  • I never had one, but wondered how hard it would be. I can imagine the workout you'd get!

  • sorry but Track and Field 1 or 2 isnt for the powerpad. but still i liked how you mentioned THE POWER PAD. lol intense!

  • you're wrong dude...the POWERPAD was indeed used for track and field...its even on that NES POWERPAD commercial that you have in your profile...in any case...NES still rules!

  • This is not the game that came with the power pad...while very similar, it is not it.

  • That is not correct (I understand, it was like 20 years ago). The game for the powerpad was World Class Track Meet. They should've gone for DDR style games, though (which should have been feasable back then!) because the device flopped, hard.

Bandai has recently announced the return of the Powerpad for the Wii, but my guess is they will make better decisions this time. ;)

  • God it's irritating when you hit the reply button and youtube instead makes a brand new comment. This comment (the one about the powerpad, if youtube does it to me again) was in respons to jtadpoll's post that the powerpad was for track and field.

    ANNOYING--sorry.

  • your comment shows in the right place when I look at it. Maybe your setings have the most recent comments show in ascending or descending order. And you're right about the pad.

  • You are right 8BITNESexploits, i was totally confused. It was World class track meet that came with the power pad. Its been such a long time i must have been like 15years old. Funny how games back then were difficult and unforgiving. Now in the days of the memory cards and save points, games can be beaten in multiple sittings as opposed to playing through in only one sitting.

  • It's obvious it was done on a regular controller, as the screen is somewhat blurry, representing a tv

  • Just because its a video made on a tv doesnt mean they cant use a Turbo controller.

  • yeah, like whens the last time youve seen a white guy win that race.

  • tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap damn it i almost had it

  • I've wondered if something is wrong with it... most likely haha.

  • Hector, my turbo controller cant even press the buttons that fast. I found it only presses them at about 13.5 times a second, a bit faster than me, but not by much. incredible that you can do this haha.

  • 13.5? What kind of crappy turbo controller is that? I would just call it "AUTO FIRE". lol

  • it's true... I've seen his insane-ness. You're crazy man!

  • haha, ever heard of autofire? =)

  • hehe, yes. But that would be called cheating. =)

  • yeah well the one who played on this vid used autofire and probably the NES Advantage. =)

  • umm...that would be me and I used a standard NES controller. That's all me pressing that tiny red button.

  • Sure he has. Thats how he achieved that 3 million score of his. You really went too far getting a score that high. All of us who have played Track & Field with a standard controller know its not possible to get that score. Your arm and hands would be so fatigued you wouldnt have any strength left. Believe me Ive played many button mashers to know. And a standard NES controller cant emit that many shots per second.

  • Yeah, 3 mil was exhausting. But I was trying to break 4 mil or see if there was a kill screen. I was getting close to event 255 and was hoping to see what would happen. If there is a kill screen it should either be at event 255(which is doable) or round 255(yikes, not for me). The only event that I cut it close on qualifiying was the hurdles. ALL others were pretty easy. Just a little concentration on Skeet an Arch and the rest are a cake walk. But still exhausting after a couple hours.

  • How is that possible.

  • I'll post a video of one of my methods, but not my best, That will still be a secret.

  • Nice video,
