This made me cry immediately. Not sobbing, but just rolling tears. I empathize with this woman so much and I know so many older women in her situation. I hope she has seen this and all of us supporting her and I hope she has stayed with the plan.
My husband's goal is to get RID of his Type 2 diabetes... he's just gotten his blood pressure back to normal eating MOSTLY veg foods around the house. :) I am thanking my sister for telling me about these doctors. :)

Good for her. I was wondering why she seemed nervous at the beginning of the video, thinking she was standing in front of a green screen with a few people in the room, and then the shot to panned out to a huge audience! That made it ten times better and inspirational.
@Stabu, just pay attention to your body though. Your diet sounds V. low in fibre, which can increase your chance of developing bowel cancer. I have an uncle going through this right now and his cancer was directly related to his low fibre diet (lots of meat, dairy and processed foods, few fruit and veg). It's awful watching someone go through it. If you continue with this diet just get regular checks, if you don't catch it early it's hard to stop. P.S Not trying to start a fight, just concerned.
Recall also that published research shows that a lowfat vegan diet also improves cardiovascular status of Type Ii diabetics better than other recommended diets.
I don't doubt that this works up to a point, because it eliminates things like soda from your diet. However, I too am a type II diabetic and when I was diagnosed my blood sugar was over 300. I switched to eat a fatty meat heavy diet with few veggies, no fruit & my blood sugar is consistently 70-80. The dietary change also lowered my blood pressure from 130/85 to 110/70 and my cholesterol values from high to ideal. I have not increased my exercise at all, but I have deceased my calories somewhat.
So pleased for this lady, you go girl.
