@tjbay1376 You gotta know where to look. I don't know why you don't like SYL, but to me it seems like a very honest expression of all kinds of feelings. That honest expression is what makes it so distinguishably Devin to me. Just dig through the surface and find things like the bridge in Detox or the songs Almost Again and Plyophony, just to name a few. Maybe you do like that. Personally I'm down with the rage, anger and loudness of SYL, but it all contains a lot of pretty stuff too

I justed wanted to say this man has truely saved me. I was suicidly and was in a hospitals for a while and then i heard his music and his story.This man was my thearpy and saving grace his music allowed me to talk again in public. I love this man, his music is absolutly beautiful and i relate to the pain and underlining beauty he approaches life with, if devin is reading this , god hopes i know his music has saved me=)

I love both versions, but I feel like Devin has more of a connection to the song, and he puts so much feeling into it, if you listen well. So I like the original better.

I don't know... It's got a bit of a scar Symmetry sound to it. But SS has some harsher vocals then this and tends to be a bit heavier.

Maybe some HIM songs, but they tend to be a completly different subject. And less... echoy?

You could try Ayreon's "Into the Black Hole" or "To the Qusar" but I think you'll find them lighter.

Scar Symmetry is awesome, one of my favs, i love all 3 albums they have out, thematically its a bit like Ziltoid in terms of like spacey stuff, but SS is more like crazy psychedelic stuff and also theoredical quantum physics which is a nice change for metal theme but yea Ziltoid is the one and only ALIEN METAL album! Long live Ziltoid!

devin townsend´ s other works :D have listen to much prog metal/rock, and can´ t come up with anything with a sound similar to devin´ s! a little like bands like opeth, they are as devin one of a kind :) try ark or something, but no! not like deve XD
