  • this is a classic piece of british engineering and for how long they ran cheap at half the price.

  • We live near the works and have a DM2, a new one is about £20,000 and a DM3 £27000. People do exagerate!

  • I think it's more like £30,000-40,000- the equivalent of US$50-60,000. They have to be commissioned and each one is built by hand, with every single part (including the injection pump) made in house by RN.

  • These could possibly be the single most expensive production twin-cylinder engines in the world.

  • If you ran this engine this way in a boat and entered US waters you would be fined so heavily that your head would explode.

  • I would be very careful using ULO as fuel.

  • re buying

If you are buying consider a DM3 the price is a bit more but the peace this lovely engine gives you is well worth the extra, but have a direct drive off the engine to vehicle ( Lorry ) typeshaft direct to your prop.

  • ah the iwa rally 2008 remember the rn well i remember them leting me tinker with it

  • Yes, you can still buy brand new ones built to order complete with marine gearbox, alternator, other anciliaries and warranty etc for about £20,000 incluiding tax

  • @andywatson39 I think they are dearer than that now.

  • Can you still buy one of these and how much?
