  • this + B the blue sky.And then Bad or running 2 st still notting like it.

  • Bono's Irish poetic hunger cries out to the souls of the American's and today they are the most successful self made rock in the world.

  • We are lucky to have this video. Keep it rare.

  • a lost gem on Joshua Tree....as intense as any song ever written....and a great live version.

  • Anyone else notice that the Bass sounds like With or without you?. Awesome song still though. I love it! XD

  • ((( ))) he wanted to believe in the hands of love. THE HANDS OF LOVE!'

  • Masterpiece.

  • kkkkkkkkkk nesse video até o #bono grita uuuuuuuuuuoooooooooohhhhhhhhhhlllllllllllll

  • this is the power of u2......u2 best all word ever u2 u2...great song...we miss you boys...u2 portugal,,,setubal

  • geht mehr gefühl....power...kraft in einen song?

Einfach geiler aufbau.....geiler song.....geile show....leider zu unbekannt der song

  • Edge is magical in this video. The anger pours out of his guitar and you can feel it 24 years later.

  • The only thing that topped Exit in terms of sheer darkness was the ZOO TV tour in 92/93. I agree with the people when they say that U2 should do some devilish things more often, as it burned the memories and emotion into our brains like a ciggarette.

  • Shame this song will never be heard live again. One man takes away our listening. pleasure. Amazing song

  • @ELUSIVEJIM What are you referring to?

  • @WeMustBeStopped Back in the late 80's some guy killed someone and said that this song told him to do it or something. After that U2 said they would never play the song again. They have never since that day.

  • @ELUSIVEJIM But they played The co-opted Helter Skelter which was a song similarly associated. Hmmmm...Time to put the past in the past and play it again.

  • GLO-RIA!... G. L. O. R. I. A. = Genius.

  • Fecking 1st class tune

  • three chords E C and G .:-) thats it! and the Hands of Love Edge´s Hnds

  • Awesome performance, fuckin' dead crowd!

  • C'est pour moi la plus grande chanson de U2

  • Missed this song on the 360degr. tour !

  • @AlGoreFan - Tragically, U2 will never play it live again. The killer of Rebecca Schaeffer (My Sister Sam) said the song was his inspiration, or something close to that. The band heard about this, and it was devastating to them.

  • @greydogblues Yes, it´s tragically. U2 never wrote such an intensive an radical song like this again.

  • Wouah.... POWERFUL ! I have got gooseflesh...

Exit + Riders on the storm (Doors), it's so great !

    Bono, tu déchires !

  • im blown away by this performance

  • Amazing, thank you. Saw U2 perform this (without The Doors insert) 3rd August '87, Birmingham NEC, England. Such memories :)

  • It was at the LA Memorial Coliseum - Nov 18, 1987. I was there.

  • I am speechless..what a performance.

  • Comment removed

  • Where in LA was this?

  • @jimmymac1960 Memorial Coliseum

  • One of the best Exit versions ever next to live in Paris version!!

  • 1. The beatles 2.- U2 3.- Metallica that's it

  • @ponypoket89 1.U2, i dont care about the rest. but BEATLES are in top 3.

  • I miss THAT U2......

  • This song has always haunted me

    Bobby...

  • By far U2's darkest song. I wish they wrote more like it. Awesome song!!

  • amazing song from an amazing album.

  • this number is so dark their best number,

  • Great version/improv of this song !! Bono truly sings with passion!!

  • no more,its live

  • This song is sooo much better live than in studio! The bassline, the guitar, Bono's vocals, EVERYTHING is amazing. This is why U2 is the best live band ever.

  • it takes alot of passion and emotion for them to play this song. i think I understand now why they have not played it live in years

  • EL BAJO ES ESPECTACULAR

  • What a performance Bono!!!

  • Such passion and power! Chills running down my spine!

  • love this song...so underrated, I do appreciate it live more than the ablum version though...and all I can think of during those lighting effects in this clip is the technological insanity of ZooTV and Pop Mart...the difference is drastic to say the least...

  • Love the homage to Jim Morrisson. Bono always knew how to work it.

  • @mootbain I love this too.

  • what I Love about this is that it's not your "typical 80's" live performance they were so ahead of their time

  • Che voce....

  • that would suck,if you missed u2 because his voice wasn't perfect........anyways////////yep that's me in the 9th row with my shirt.....can't wait for seattle.........

  • @scorpsman OMG..you're so lucky!! I've seen them three times but not this concert. I"ve seen Elevation, Pop and Vertigo.. I'm hoping to scrape some cash to take my kid!

  • Fuck that was awsome!! I can't believe i've only now come across this!!Thanks for the post, man.

  • U2 in that period were at their peak. Today, Edge is still amazing, like Adam and Larry, but unfortunately Bono, can not sing like he use to be. Bono is still very important in that group, but i have to admit , that the rest of the band are still amazing.

  • yeah... unfortunatey you cannot change you vocal strings like a guitar string....

  • This video is great, very great, yes man.

  • U2 wrote "Miami"

  • I agree, it's not played enough!

    Great lyrics as always

  • man, what a performance!

  • Sometimes I wonder if U2 should have cancelled shows when Bonos voice was soar instead of playing. I have heard a couple of shows during the years when Bono sounded like he should be resting instead of singing. Makes you wonder if his voice would be stronger today. Anyways, still a FANTASTIC BAND, FANTASTIC SINGER, FANTASTIC SONGS!

  • THAT'S ME WHIPPING MY T-SHIRT @2:00......3:20 and 3:34......we were rocking with the boys that night......

  • WOW!

This is a great version, Love the Doors melody slipped in, Nice one

    x

  • At this time U2 was a cult rock band. It was the 80's a different time...

Now they're not in the same mood... but they are great - my favorite band ever!

  • Have a look for this on YouTube: "U2 360 (Croke Park) The Unforgettable Fire"...

    (yes, The Unforgettable Fire)

And they're sounding great. I wish they were coming to Australia for this tour :(

  • what an awesome bassline..... :)

  • Adam Clayton as always, rock solid, simple, and stunningly effective. He knows where to put the notes.

  • @chammo360

I would say what a mighty bassline, this is so great song, that people are not aware of that. Also The Edge's lines are fantastic here......U2 rocks

  • @chammo360 Together with the lyrics, the bassline is simply awesome. This tune came from the darkness of our forests that all of us wear

  • LOVE THIS!!!!

  • My favorite u2 track!!!

  • my too ;-)

  • U2... during this time was the best band in the world!

  • oh good grief they still are... its beyond doubt and they are by miles

  • Personally, I think they're the best band to ever live.

Their track record prooves it! Over 22 Grammies, Never broke up or changed band members for three decades, and they are still making music.

At what point does the best actually become untouchable? I think U2 is the only example! LOL

  • I agree..

  • U2 needs to play this on the 360 tour. It's such a great rock song.

  • Oh! I would go weak at the knees if they did!!!

  • yes i pray this song will be played in glasgow where i am going this year

  • Bono looks like Daniel Day Lewis in this video...

    :)

  • Bono looks Daniel Day Lewis in this film... :)

  • shit crowd...not even enjoyin it

  • the version from Rattle and Hum is also awesome...

  • VERY NICE<HELLO FROM CINCINNATI OHIO

  • one of the best...joshua tree never dies..legends

  • @idioot15 Right On, idioot!!! RIGHT ON!

  • @idioot15 i agree its their best album....but i do like achtung baby and dismantle an atomic bomb album.

  • thats me rocking the beat with my tee......9th row center.......my dad died on that next thanksgiving...aweek later....i brought a picture of him withme, and had alot of tears streaming down my face that night.....god bless u2.....and pops

  • I'm sorry about your dad man.

  • Gloria Exultate!

  • My favourite song of U2 :P

  • excellent, with the snippet riders on the storm.

  • his voice is amazing the bass makes the song great so does the guitar

  • Best u2 song in my opinion!

  • One of their best.. underestimated, this song..

  • 100% agree

  • thanks i couldn't see him this close when i was there. we bought last minute ticks up top

fantastic i was there with my mumma

  • that's me,whiping my t-shirt...sweet video....am i in 3dddd,for those lucky one to see it at imax?????

  • excellent, great band, great song, great humans..

  • this song is so powerful.

  • good solos

    best band= U2

    love U2

  • U2 in 3D yes , a fan from Montréal. Yes sir.

  • Saw this in 3D @ Imax Sydney great track!

  • this song is very powerful and haunting...I love it since the first time i have listened to it...U2 are the best band in the world and I hope they will continue to make us dream

  • Wow. That's all I've got. Just, wow.

  • this is a rock&roll dream come true....they got me three times rocking my t-shirt...to the dude who sold me my ticket from the side of the road, for 60.00 not 90.00,you rock,to my boys in and from carmel, whats up..bono is god......

  • Nice song.

i was looking for this song because our dutch reporter Peter R. de Vries used it for his documanturie about Joran v/d Sloot and Natalie Holloway.

    Great song. Great live performance.

  • Shame we will never hear u2 play exit live again :(

  • Hm why? O_o

  • Someone in America killed someone and said the song was the reason for him carrying out the act so u2 said they would not play it again. :(

  • Then again, McCartney still plays Helter Skelter after the whole Charles Manson thing. I hope they bring it back for the next tour. Very unlikely though.

  • u2 stole helter skelter back 4 the beatles from that prick manson. its on rattle and hum cd/dvd ;)

  • Is this really true.. Oh my.. What a shame..

  • Agree.. As also JummelJohn says: Gloria Exultate!.. The crowds are dead ;D

  • Hm why? O_o

  • that me swinging my u2 tee, from the 9th row ...sweet

  • Where do you get these videos? I can´t stop watching! Thank you so much!

  • such a rare version!

  • I love The Doors, but there live stuff wasn't that great cause Jim was a drunk. They still own. As 4 the best live band ever Led Zeppelin.

  • just perfect... and the lyrics... speechless :)

  • On the twenty-year anniversary of it's release, The Joshua Tree will forever be wed to Arizona. There was one, who stole Exit, in an attempt to explain his own evil, murderous deed. We're here to steal it back. Tombstone, Arizona December 7, 2007 - Arturo Jabra'il Sancho

  • EXIT SERMON, attributed to John Henry 'Doc' Holliday

Twenty-years have passed since our ears were first captivated, by a labyrinth of U2 songs assembled on The Joshua Tree album. Like a wave of settlers, miners, lovers, drunks, and mystics, we partook in the sounds and lyrics that speak to our imaginations...

  • Counted among the songs was Exit, a sermon born on a high desert plane, concerning the final moments in the life of John Henry 'Doc' Holliday; a religious man turned gunfighter.

  • Huh? So that's what's it about, huh? Even though that's what it's truly derived from, there's countless interpritations that could be made for every song. Even though Exit is their most darkest piece, it is their most powerful song. A song where Guitar and Bass work togeather in terrifying harmony. This song has one of my favorite Basslines ever.

  • Very cool thanx!

  • The fucking best in the world, this song, are so powerfull.

  • this is the only version of this song ive heard where bono explains what the song represents/means

  • many of the early U2 songs should be re-released, exit, gloria, tick tock, into the heart, and so on. Best band for about 27 years.

  • He performed this song at Vertigo world tour in 2005. It's way lot better to hear it alive when the audience were singing together with him.

  • fantastic

  • ( I am Spanish and I don`t Know many English)

maybe depeche mode, placebo or linkin park are greats bands but they haven`t the History of U2, They Haven`t the feelling of U2 and the Have the ("Calidad") of the music of U2. Exist is a bom of sound!!

U2 la mejor banda del mundo y la historia!!

  • Tienes razon amigo. Simple que eso. ¡Y tu Ingles es mejor que mi Español!

  • placebo and Linkin park SuCKS!!! Brother, I'm Sorry!!!

  • THE BEST BAND OF THE HISTORY!!!!

  • you guys are so lucky you got to see this live! I wasnt' even born :(

  • I love this bassline. It's genious simple.

  • adam is fantastic!!!! they are fantastic, this song is fantastic!!!

  • Saw this performed live in New Mexico in 86. The most amazing single performace I ever saw.

  • different from R&H, you can tell by the guitar and the Doors interlude.

  • and the stage

  • Gloriaaaa G-L-O-R-I-A! one of their best songs u2 4ever!

  • This song will never be played by u2 again. Think it was at the end of the 80's when a guy commited a murder and blamed this song for driving him too it.

Robbed the family and us of a great song :(

  • This is hte best song from the just simply the best song ever

  • this is not the R&H version...but still...love it :)

  • love love love love this song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the best ever live... i saw them in L.A. in 87' the coleiseum was unbelievable...

  • I saw them in 1982 in Indianapolis when I was 14, THEY opened for J. Geils Band on the Centerfold tour. They stole the show, I have been a fan ever since.

  • The very end was cool...I haven't heard him do that for Exit before.

  • This is great, great video! I love it..

  • Takes me back to the moshpit at wembley stadium in 87. U2 tickets were 13quid then! What happened to the belfast version? who ever put it on please do it again, it seriously rocked!!

  • no but it is a better one than R&H version.

  • no i don't think it is =))

  • is this the same version from rattle and hum movie? the songs seems the same but the video is a bit diffrent. i think it's the same but filmed from other angles :p at least bono's move seem to be the same :P

  • its awsome to see it again. i was actually there, it was my first concert

  • In the middle he's singing "Gloria...G-L-O-R-I-A ". It's an old Van Morrison song, also covered by The Doors, among others.

  • Thank you everbeer222 and groovski1, I don't know what it was with that but I just couldn't make that out until you told me that what he was saying.

  • wait no groovski1 it not that word it at 3:38 he saying something and I have no clue what he is saying.

  • "Gloria, G-L-O-R-I-A" (from a song by Van Morrison)

"Riders on the storm, into this house we're born, tequila holiday, let your children play" (from a song by Jim Morrison of The Doors)

  • One of the best performances I have ever seen. It was well filmed and recorded. All credit to the lighting engineers, production technicians and the camera men for for allowing us to relive it!

  • its a pity this song is not played very often

  • Question at the end he sing something that don't sound like english nad it in the middle of the song he sings it to between "let you children play".

  • Tequila Holiday?

  • Ya groovski that word, what he meaning by it.

  • Damn, that was awesome. I never heard the song before till know and you can just feel the energy from there music.

  • amazing s
