Notice how not only Bruce Lee, but Van Williams, uses actual training (in Van William's case, boxing and judo.)  I wonder why, during the judo-crazy 1960's, Batman and Robin never used actual martial arts techniques, especially in light of the fact that Burt Ward actually did a martial arts demo during his audition.

0:30 that dialouge scene right there pretty much told us who would win if GH and Kato didn't tamper with their skills before the fight between the caped crusaders. All I can say is now that the new movie is out and that both heroes are in the 21st century (Many people might dissagree with me about the GH movie, but hey thats their opinion.) when would the long awaited rematch be between Kato and Robin?

Looks like the internet is flooded by bruce lee (NOT kato) fanboys, cause its clearly obvious this fight was a draw....hell, if there was a clear winner, it was Batman punching Hornet all over the place, and Robin was clearly holding his own against Kato. Those "Kato was holding back" excuses are just that...excuses.

People gotta realize that this is...fiction. In fiction, All of them are equals.

I think the one thing this two-parter is missing is a credible villain. Well, more credible than Gumm, anyway. Roger C. Carmel did a good job, but Joker or Penguin would've made for a much more colorfull--and challenging--adversary for Bats and G.H., and a much better excuse for the two joining forces. Hell even False Face would've been a bigger challenge, and he could've really used the whole G.H. being thought of as a badguy thing to his advantage.

Edward G was there, according to the book, "Batmania" in his later years before he died, Edward was one that had taken up painting as a hobby. And William Fitzsimmons, one of the Batman exec's at 20th Century Fox, found out that Edward G, liked the way they did the camera angles of the hero and the villians, and wanted to know how they did it for those bat climb sequences, so Fitzsimons showed him how it was done, and the rest you could say is Bathistory!

The idea that Burt was afraid of Bruce Lee is a MYTH! Keep in mind that Burt had a black belt in karate and broke boards with his hand in his audition. Then add the fact that they (Burt and Bruce Lee) both lived in the same apartment building and their families spent time together. The people in charge allowed the two actors to create much of the fight on their own because they could handle it just fine. Also it was agreed that the fight would just stop so no character would be the loser.

When I was younger we talked about the fight a lot including trying to count who got the most hits. Hard to figure out since there wasn't even VCRs back then!

If you want to be realistic, anyone can hit anyone and Robin has a unique fighting style. Kato would ultimately win but Robin made a good showing.

In Adam West's autobiography, he tells how Bruce Lee was very quiet and intense before the final fight scene was shot. He wouldn't talk or smile, and Burt Ward was starting to get nervous. Bruce was playing a joke, just to freak Burt out, but Adam had a great line about it. He said "Other than running him over with the Batmobile, I couldn't see how anyone could stop Bruce if he snapped".
