Protip: (not just from me) reload after you kill someone so you don't run out next time you see an enemy (ESPECIALLY IN HALO) ( you will get killed in a firefight if you have barely any ammo in a clip ) # 2 : outsmart the enemy. hide behind cover ( a barrel, for instance) because they have less of you to shoot, if you shoot an enemy but don't kill, run through a walkway and hide right on the other side and wait for them to come through for a good knife kill.
