  • Can anyone say if this is faster than a Netbook with Atom and ION graphics (9300M)??

    Ty

  • everything is faster than a netbook.

because netbooks are made for the internet and nothing else.

get a real pc or good working laptop

  • ASUS and MSI has a similar laptop. But it's waayyy cheaper (at $400) and has better specs. But it was only released this month. I'm talking about the ASUS EEE PC 1201T and MSI U230. Both have an Athlon Neo X2 and a Radeon HD 3200 with a 12" 1336x768 screen. The best part is it's almost as thin as a Macbook Air.

  • Not quite. The dv2 has the ATI 3410, the 3200 performs less. Honestly the only super portable on the market that matches is the new intel DM3 from HP and a 12 inch from alienware that just got anounced, rocking an awesome price tag of 700 dollars. Be careful with those super skinny notebooks, chances are high the cooling fans will run all the time and be very loud.

  • The Radeon HD 3410 is basically a HD 3200 with higher clocks. Nothing more. The performance advantage of the HD 3410 is about 5% north of the HD 3200 at most, which is negligible.

Regarding the "super skinny" notebooks, I've got Mini 311 (Atom+Ion). It's not noisy at all. It's very silent even when it's at load. I wish the ASUS 1201T was released sooner. Even with the Ion, the Atom is still horribly slow. The Athlon Neo X2 performs almost as fast as those entry-level Intel Core 2 ULVs.

  • price?

  • mine was 650 U.S. $'s at newegg

  • i just got the HP dm3 a few weeks ago, its got a 13.3" screen and is a bit bigger then the dv2, however, it comes with the duelcore neo, or the coreduo from intel, 512 megs video, 4 gigs ram, and a 320gig hd, i picked mine up at a wal-mart in town for just under 500$ price vs specs i couldnt find a better deal ne where. i have been played ut2004 at max settings it plays it perfectly.. i am bout to try some other games, but this little computer is a workhorse! its powerful despite its size!

  • Yeah, they are nice. That dm3 is basically the dv2 with 1 more inch of screen space. I love this size notebook. I'm glad to hear you like it.

  • i have this laptop and it can play MW2!!!!!! and thats good enough for me!

  • Yes, I play it all the time. Great game.

  • and are there any latest game this laptop can handle?

  • Well pretty much all the videos I've made are games that this machine can handle. The exception is Battlefield 2, which is an awful game. Modern Warfare 2 runs great.

  • i have not yet try it on l4d2. do u think it can handle l4d2??

  • Yes, it plays L4D2 fine. I used it to play the demo on steam. works great.

  • do you play online?

  • ya why? my nickname ahlisunnah91 :P

  • im just thinking of getting one, but i wanted to know how the online gaming is

  • well as u know depends on internet connection ^^. for mw2 multiplayer my graphics settings are textures=high, normal, normal. so its pretty good..

  • If you wana game online get a proper pc or a HP probook

  • Hi, the info says "the next video shows how well sketchbook and photoshop works", I'd really like to see that. but where is the video? notebook gaming 3 shows Call of duty..

  • Oh sorry, I totally forgot that I was going to make that video. I have two other video requests, but I will try get that one in by the end of the week. Thanks for the reminder.

  • r yh that's not 2 bad

i shud hopefully get 1 in feb for £370

so i'll add u (thanx 4 the help)

  • hi, i heard dv2 is getting very hot becose of amd cpu, is it true?

  • It gets warm, but not "hot." I have heard of some people having bad fans which blow less air, keeping the machine not cooled enough, leading to hot air coming out. I know people with that issue either send it in for a new fan, or they undervolt the cpu. Undervolting is not the same as underclocking, your performance stays the same, just the cpu produces less thermal energy.

  • in that case we can undervolt alittle more?

  • For those who would like to play games on notebook, i wud suggest you go for other options. With the same price tag, you can get a better notebook than HP DV2. But for those who are highly mobile, DV2 is fantastic. I bought one and i highly reccomend it especially for bussiness purpose

  • I agree. This isn't for hardcore gaming. It is really for light/medium gaming on the go. If you are looking for heavy gamin performance, go with system76, their 15.4 and 17 inch professional notebooks or with asus or msi. As for same price, that is not very true. The DV2 runs for $550 on newegg and at other places. There really are not any full notebooks with 3D cards for that price, unless you buy an older generation in a closeout deal.

  • HP DV2 is not designed for gaming. Yes you can play, but the laptop is meant for bussiness and light entertainment. You can't expect the HP DV2 to score significantly when it comes to game

  • hi, I have a request for you. Could you do a gaming video from these games: Crysis, Left 4 dead and counter strike source :) thank you and plese reply to me so I may know if you are going to do a video from those games!

  • I was able to play overlord on a duel core 2.2ghz amd (4400 socket 939) and a ati x1950gt 1Gb and played it on almost medium settings and it ran great. This looks like it was run on really bad graphics, then again, it looks like your recording off a tube style tv which would desegregate the quality.

  • thanks for the video cause of it i got the laptop and let me tell u its perfect for my needs, im playing left for dead, resident evil 4, grand thedt auto san andreas, world of goo, red alert 3, company of heroes, doom3, killing floor and going to be trying out gears of war1, dirt, tomb raider underworld and bioshock ....

i put last remant on my laptop but it was laggin to much so i erased it, rise of the augornots lags too so dont play it, people should put the games that they r playing

  • Last Remnant ran fine for me. The major lag issue was with the fmv cutscenes. They have a lot of horizontal tearing, but that happens on my desktop, so I don't totally mind.

I agree, I'd like to see what everyone is playing on their DV2's.

  • i put dirt and its laggin too, try bioshock and its playin at low settings

  • I haven't tried dirt. I definitely play bioshock on low settings. The water in that game just kills gameplay on most machines. On the upside, the water is really pretty.

  • hey man just what i was looking for but could u show World of Warcraft

  • look at part one he shows World of Warcraft.
