Kempo, I think that deep inside you are a good guy, and are trying to do what you think is right, but you are are fighting against the truth and against that which is of God. Joseph Smith was an honest man. He was a chosen man of God. He did seek the truth with sincerity of heart. He asked God in sincere prayer. He prayed in the name of Jesus Christ will faith that he would receive an answer from God, and he did.
