Back in the 80's ... Natas and Gonz showed us how to street skate. Mullen was still tic-tacking around in circles... He invented lots of flips. He was not a street skater until the early 90's. Freestyle was a whole differnt animal. Mullen is the best Freestyle skater to ever live.

Just a little insight for you guys....... ( all due respect is given to Mullen)

the truth is that in the skateboarding world back in the 80's Mullen was considered "poser" as was most of freestyle. "Thrashers" who did street-style hated vert riders and freestylers with a passion. It was all about tearing up the streets aka rail slide, long grinds, huge acid drops, etc...

Times have changed since skating became normalized.

Rodney was the first person to do a legit ollie on flatground, he was for sure the first to figure out how to really pop his board. He was definetly the first person to pop an ollie high enough to clear a deck.
