  • Is this how British people act?

  • This promo was shot on sets after the monochrome series ended, but before the colour series had began. The ornate set is from "Honey for the Prince." Diana Rigg's hair length indicates it was from the end of the season (her hair is shorter in the beginning of the monochrome series), it seems to have been shot about the same time as the monochrome American open with the chessboard was filmed.

  • These two are the prototypes for Mulder and Scully.

  • Someone tell me, where is Mr. Peel?

  • @mindsaglowin Near the end of "The Forget-Me-Knot," we discover that RAF Captain Peter Peel came back to England, after being lost in a mysterious jungle, and "Wife Emma Awaits." When Mrs. Peel stepped into his car, we see only a glimpse of what Steed saw from his window in full view: they could pass for twins! As Peel drives off, Emma smiles wistfully, as though a special secret that she kept from Steed for years was finally revealed. Definitely ranks among my favorite episodes.

  • @mindsaglowin Mr. Peel was supposedly lost- he was I believe a fighter pilot. Emma was of course a scientist and amateur spy- partnered with Steed after Mrs. Gale's departure (she left to play Pussy Galore in "Goldfinger" 1964). In late 1967, Mr. Peel was found alive in the Amazonian Jungle (Bizarre to say the least). He and comes and gets Emma- the last episode with Steed and Mrs. Peel was titled "The Forget Me Knot".

  • Emma is soo gorgeous,witty and cool<3

  • Patrick Macnee & Diana Rigg had such great chemistry together. They were the perfect male & female crime fighting team with a razor sharp wit to boot. Here in America, we appreciate your British humor immensely. I love them back then and still watch their videos now at home and on YouTube. There will NEVER be another pair like them!

  • They're so cute in this clip. It's funny how they're really making fun of themselves.

  • I love 00:50 !!!

BIG LOVE for Emma Peel :-))))))))

    this clip is sooooooooooo hilarious!!!

they're both so funny and great...

    best show ever...

  • This is sooo gorgeous!!!

And perfectly right for me, since I'm just watching black and white episodes, and soon will see the coloured ones! YAY

  • I was nine when I Emma and I fell in love with her , I married your look-a-like, but I just relised this, all this time I thought my wife looked like Barbi Benton, but I guess it's Emma's looks that i fell in love with. WOW !

  • The "body" that turns up under the bearskin rug is Valerie Van Ost, who would later appear as Penny in the episode "Dead Man's Treasure."

  • @bjay1001 great eye you've got there!!! this is a great promo!!!

  • @bjay1001 Did you catch Steed patting "The Body" on the ass as they left? Steed, you dog! LOL!

  • @Elric33239 I did notice! Did you also notice that the "body" is actress Valerie Van Ost, who also makes a memorable appearance as "Penny" in the episode "Dead Man's Treasure"?

  • @bjay1001 "It's a short skirt...I mean short cut to our next clue!" How many dead boyfriends did Penny have? "Exactly! Let's just be good friends!"

  • I'm still in love wih Emma Peel. She was and still is, the ultimate 'liberated' female. Smart, strong, capable, gorgeous, warm, personable and funny. Today all too many women make the cardinal mistake that to be strong and smart you have to be a bitch. Hint, being a bitch just means you are a bitch - nothing else.

  • "There' s always a body hanging around". British humour is so keen and sharp.

  • Emma:

It'll be a crime if we don't find a body.

    Steed:

It'll be a crime if we do!

  • I recall the Avengers being shown on CBS at 11:30 pm on Fridays back in the late 70's-early 80's. Loved it.

  • We could have taught the Americans how to spell Colour and missed the opportunity

  • AHAHAA I couldn't agree more!

  • Missis Peel, you're needed!

  • Pure nostalgia, tuesday night on one of the two national TV channels, thanks!

  • Her name was Emma Peel. Which was really "M - Appeal" for "Male appeal".

    Avengers theme was so coool

  • just brilliant!

  • <3 <3 <3

  • actually, the trailer for the 5th series - after the David Keel one, two with Cathy Gale, and the great black and white Peel season

  • Missis Peel, we miss you!

  • This brilliant trailer was shot 32 years ago, but the wit and the chemistry between Emma and Steed still come to us. so long time ago, I feel nostalgic a little bit. Now the shows in TV are craps

  • Sorry, 42 years ago... I'm not good at maths

  • LOL@ John Steed checking the kettle. Love him, he's so funny.

  • Always loved Diana Rigg. Such humour and so immediate. She's so present.

  • This makes me cry when I think of the female role modals of today. Paris Hilton oh , god !

  • Diana Rigg...beautiful and classy. The perfect antidote for our modern Chav nation.

  • I'm weeping with joy

  • Zany and madcap...perfect Avengers.

    Thanks for sharing.
