  • You know what I don't understand? Most police forces use Glock mostly because of the safety being in the trigger allowing them to quickly draw their weapon if they have to. But according to my uncle who's a police officer, they don't keep a bullet in the chamber.. they have to cock the gun before they can use it.. doesn't that defeat the purpose of the trigger safety mechanism. He said they do this because of fear of accidental discharge. Why not use a gun with standard safety?

  • Probably a bit of a heavy load to start him out on... then again now he'll laugh when someone tries to get him to shoot a .380.

  • @JAndersonIV I SHOOT FROM MY 11 YEAR 357. MAGNUM ..... THAT IS SERBIA :D

  • nukewaefare2 is correct. The Secret Service uses the Sig Sauer P229 .357

without the rail. Get a box of the Winchester LE ammo. 125 grain.

This is a great weapon. I carry it all the time.

  • Amyleespetwookie couldn't have sad it better since the P229 is both 40 and .357 I could just get that and a conversion kit.

  • Stop arguing, go pleasure yourself and calm down. The kid shooting needs to eat more wheaties.j/k nice dad.

  • i love the .357 sig. i changed out the .40 barrel and replaced the .357 sig, and i noticed i shoot much more comfortable with the .357 sig than with the .40.

  • Nice, Joe!

  • Nice shooting, Joe! Morecowbellbaby, good job to you as well....If every dad would teach their kids how to use & RESPECT firearms as you have, it would only strengthen our society, IMHO....

  • loud!!!

  • oh and beside federal air marshals. the secret service is also issued a glock in 357sig

  • I hope your dad can spell a hell of allot better than you.

  • he can :)

  • I'm sorry but you're Wrong. The Glock 31,32,33 All are chambered for the .357 SIG Round.... And the .357 SIG Round has the highest Knock down power out of .40 S&W .45 ACP And 9x19mm. And The .357 SIG Is just as Reliable.... You cant judge a Round on reliability...... Only pistols... Your an idiot. And you have not a clue of what you you speak.

  • @mistabiggz16 Uh..the .45ACP part of that is highly debatable. The .45 can achieve larger wound capacities than the .357, but the .357 SIG does beat the 9mm and .40 S&W in every aspect except for cost, and capacity against 9mm.

The .357 SIG IS also inherently more easy to feed into a pistol chamber by design, as the round is bottlenecked. Whoever you were insulting, was correct.

  • @AmyLeesPetWookiee Crush factor (bullet size) vs. Temporary Cavitation (bullet speed).. Example: .223 / 5.56 mm bullet is much smaller than a .45 , but the velocity of the .223 causes more damage than a .45. SIG357 velocity makes this an incredible round.

  • @frankgon4 Comparing a rifle caliber that is over 300% faster than the pistol calibers in question isn't the same as comparing a pistol caliber to another pistol caliber that is lighter and less than 65% faster. Both the weight and speed matter.

The .45 ACP and .357 SIG are about equal based on various gelatin tests, which I'm quite happy with. They're both some of my favorite pistol calibers. The .357 SIG seems to offer about the same damage as a .45 ACP with almost double the mag capacity.

  • the .357 sig actually contains a .355 caliber projectile. also a .357sig/magnum also has the same size projectile as a 9mm parabellum

  • whats the bullet dimension diff from a 357 mag(if is there any)?

  • found this on wikianswers:

In general, when most refer to a 357 caliber, they are referring to the .357 magnum. The .357 magnum is a rimmed cartridge used primarily in revolvers. The .38 special is a shorter version of the .357 magnum. The 357 Sig is actually a .40S&W rimless case that is necked down to support a .357 caliber bullet. This cartridge showed some great ballistic promise.

  • federal air marshals use this gun 0.0

  • Secret Service agents too.

  • He needs to be taught how to hold a handgun when shooting! He's alittle timid, encourage him to take control of his handgun!

  • I agree. More shooting will help, but a better grip will make a huge difference in muzzle rise and control, as well as accuracy. Take control and shoot that thing like you mean it! Keep it up!

  • o god...joe's holding a gun! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! lol jk...this is cool!

  • We were at FirePower in Matthews NC on Thursday 9/18 in the afternoon.

  • ya thats the place

  • i just shot a glock 17 9mm earlier today. i think this might be the same place

  • thats me. awesome
