It is so hard to portray someone ..be it Elvis or Buddy or SRV ....I think the guy does Buddy justice ....cause he is pouring his heart into it ..great guitar sound ..and he is very much in the spirit ...I dont think buddy could have done the guitar any better ...Rave ON !!!!

How does this show differ from the musical 'Buddy'? Travis Poelle does the best Buddy, vocally and on guitar.

This show is a recreation of a Crickets show as if it occured on Feb 3, 1959. The show "Buddy" which I've seen has actors, this is just a raw concert with 32 songs. It is the difference between a theatrical production and being transported to a Buddy Holly Concert in 1959. Time travel versus musical theatre. Musicians, not actors. Hope that answers your question.

@mdmphd I dis agree, gary busey did all the vocals in the buddy holly story the movie on his own I think personally gary is the best far a singing buddy holly songs

Honesty is good and I can handle what you are saying - This was done in 2003 and we've had another 6 years to perfect it - I'll post one from our tour last week and if you still think it's not up to par fair enough. Don't feel bad for being honest - I appreciate it. Otis

Not an easy one to get just right - I've had another 5 years to perfect it and will be posting a newer version of this tune. I agree the vocal does need to be more subtle.

Yes I did! That's what happens in live music. Being human is not about being perfect. If you listen to the original it is orchestral. This is done as a trio. The charts used were even in the original key of Bb. I had to merge several parts of differing instruments to make it work without the orchestra. Criticism usually says more about the critic than the person being criticized.
