  • ACTOR Colin Tarrant was famous for being Inspector Andrew Monroe in the series has died age 59 ...R.I.P

  • 2002 was a good year for ITV with this and Bad Girls :P

  • What will my Nan do now its over?

  • This is my favourite Bill theme out of all the series's.

  • i like the theme tune and all the faces:)

  • I miss Des/Reg. Some of the most memorable moments of the series came from that partnership.

After they blew up the station a SECOND time, I stopped watching for good. I know a lot of other people did too. The storylines around that time were shallow and "scraping the bottom of the barrel", and the old favourite characters (e.g. Smithy) just weren't enough to hold your interest anymore.

I actually think that they picked the series up really well in 2009, and it was a shame they ended it.

  • the downhill of the bill, no deakin, skace, daly, boulton, holmes!!

  • OMG i totally loved this period...Ben Hayward & Nick Klein = <3

  • i like this

  • this was one of the bests

  • Is there a long version of this (besides the credits)? This theme is epic.

  • pc des taviner was great how he handle scallys on the street

  • it says on the info dc debbie mcallistair. i thought she was a ds - when she joined was she a dc

  • I prefer this title sequence to the others. It sound a lot darker and more mature then the others...

  • PC Des Taviner was the best

  • this was the best them tune

  • this is wrong, cathy bradford does not join till 2002

  • these titles were used for part of 2002 so maybe they added cathy bradford then

  • very sexy

  • My favourite version of the theme :)

  • Who is the character in the blue-tinted frame next to Kate Spears at 0:10?

  • tony stamp

  • I meant just after Tony Stamp fades out.

  • do u mean inspector monroe?

  • Yes, I can see it's Monroe now - I didn't recognise him at first.

  • at 0:07 june mouths bob has any onr got that ep

  • It's First Impressions Part 2. He pinched her bum and she was shocked but laughed.

  • 0:07

  • isnt this the first season of the bill i mean the new seasons?

  • these titles spooked me out when they first showed!

  • 2002 especially was a peak year for deaths, bloodshed and mystery around Sun Hill. This version of the theme tune is perfect for the storylines of the time - it's just so creepy and chilling.

  • very gritty

  • this has a sort of casualty/holby city feel to it

  • Is it me or has Sgt Gillmore been left out??

  • he was left out,its cos he joined when next intro was made

  • He didn't, he joined before Des and nearly a year before Cathy Bradford and both of them are in this Intro but Gilmore isn't :S

  • i think this was the best theme for it.

  • whos the guy second from the right on 13 seconds til 17 seconds?

  • DC Paul Riley

Died in the Sun Hill Fire in 2002

  • what was tht police officers name on the bill who was stabbed and died? it was round bout '01 to 05 at the latest, i think she was a lesbian on the show

    can sum1 plz help?.?.?

  • Special Police Constable Terry Knowles was stabbed in the neck by a steel comb.

DC Juliet Becker was stabbed in the stomach by some guy with a knife at the back of the station.

It could be either one of those two!!

  • thnx heaps 4 tht!

oh by the way it was juliet becker

    thnx!

  • Terry Knowles was a lesbian? He kept that quiet!

  • when i started watching ;D

  • im pretty sure someone was fired for this lol...

    and rightly so!

  • this is when it was sick!

  • THIS B********

  • i agree the music was dull and boring and i didn't like the background showing all the characters. They should bring back the feet, that was a trademark of the bill. Does any one else agree with me?

  • yep, the feet were definately a trademark

  • As the designer of the current logo and 1998 titles explained to me "Replaceing the feet and moving plod into the 20th century was hard"

  • best one

  • The mid-late 1980s version is the iconic one. After the late 1990s saxaphone version, this one is the best. The recent couple of versions have been bland and repetative. I remember this as the era that I started to religiously watch the series again after it went a bit off in the tail-end 90s.

  • Definitely the best opening titles and theme for The Bill. I agree with Tuzzer12, the theme is definitely more dramatic. It also sounds a lot more modern than the current one. I wish they would bring it back.

Excellent sound on this clip. Great stuff.

  • Do you have the end credits for this music?

  • i luv this it is sooo cool i think it is soo dramatic and i luv the bit at 00.11 !

  • my favourite opening titles for The Bill. It sounds much more dramatic.

  • The Same But Is Bangin
