LesPaulzrule-Yeah,he found his original 3 p/up limited,as the 3 position switch was one pickup for each position.The new one works the same as a std switch,BUT push the toggle forward(in any position) to engage the middle pickup-Brilliant.Basically giving you your traditional les paul settings with the option of activating middle pickup(or de-activating it0whenever you want.Oh,he also has a coil tap on the bridge p/up for extra bite.He had 5 to try and kept the one he liked best....seen here.

Back to the music-as i commented before,Page's 6-way switch(which he designed with the Gibson custom shop guys)is quite ingenious.I'm so pleased he's happy with it and considers it a worthy replacement for the one that went missing between Boston and Toronto in about 1970(or thereabouts).The boys really kicked Ass/Arse at '02.Wont be surprised if they dont tour.Think JPJ&RP are over the touring thing.Would settle for a properly produced dvd,though.Great Gig and well done-a credit to them!

Actually that's the new 3 pickup special Les Paul Custom (with fancy switching of course) that Gibson designed with him. They modeled after his famous 3 pickup custom session guitar that was stolen years ago. You can see him using it in the 1970 Royal Albert Hall performance.

I have a couple of others although this was the only complete song. Chose standing tickets and just walked right up to the front. Everyone there was brandishing cameras/mobile phones..this was filmed on my dodgy Nokia 6280... there was a guy next to me who filmed almost the whole gig on a decent video camera so there'll probably be similar footage but better quality at some point. I'm hoping they put the gig out on dvd...was a fantastic experience and I feel privileged to have been there.
