sorry it doesn't have fail-safe function but you can secure the box by either using the fingerprint or the key for maximum security

If you're asking about the cable

The cable as shipped with the product could be cut by a large pair of wire cutters and a determined theif.

If you are worried about such a scenario you could replace this shipped cable with a stronger cable of your own choosing ...

But for the box itself it really is tough not even a bolt cutter is getting you in there.
