  • This is ponderous man really ponderous

  • It's funny how not having heard this since high school in '91 I STIILLLL remember the words!!!

  • This is too cool. Thank you for this.

  • Not sure if this was played nationwide, but it was big in Detroit.

  • Wow.. Haven't heard this in about 9 or 10 years.. Brings back the memories ..

  • fun song from my early teen days.

  • Thank you so much for uploading. I've been looking for this song since I was a pre-teen.

  • maaaan this song crazy twact out its about haing multiple personality syndrome and where he goes when his other person inside him takes over fuckin nuts hahahahaha

  • when this song came out, earphones covered your entire ear!

  • Damn you know how long I have been trying to find this song! I mean for a good time there I thought I might be going bloody crazy & the song was just part of a fuzzy dream I had way back then! You know how for some the 80's was just a fuzzy time of their life? :)

SHOULDN'T YOU BE AT WORK?!? Then My Shoes began to squeak! (It's a classic strangweird song) :-)

Thanks for throwing this on YT its PONDEROUS man Really Ponderous!

  • @codex09 Hey I sympathize with you. I first heard this in January of 1991 and for the longest time..... no radio station played this. I didn't know the artist / song but it was kool. Finally I typed in "This Is Ponderous" on youtube and lo and behold............... it was here. So glad I got two, video youtube versions of this.

  • @codex09 The mp3 is available on their web site.

  • love this whole album, have it on cd. DDS blues is the best. Kinda like a bugger look on a pit bull

  • I remember this song, but i could have sworn there was another verse to this song.

  • I thought I was the only person alive that remembered this song!!!!!! Thank you so much for the evidence that I'm not crazy.

  • Group's name is 2nu. Way cool vid, Dude!! Thanks for inspiring me to find their CD!!

  • My uncle showed me this song...

It's hard to quit listening to it cause it's so fucking weird.

  • @marissahasakiss

Isn't that the truth? Had the cassette tapes and almost wore them out listening. Kept your head going WTF?

  • @pinkelekk haha you know it.!

  • excellent work mate, great video for a classic trippy track.

  • where you live ? this place look likes beautiful

  • Awesome dude! I LOVE this song :)

  • Im from the Ann Arbor Mich area, all my friends my age STILL love this song, lol

This and the song "Wet Dream"

  • Im from the Ann Arbor Mich area, all my friends my age STILL love this song, lol

  • Was the same in the memphis area , all over radio but no one else remembers this

  • I had the exact same experience, Bryan. It's so weird because it wasn't underground at all, for a while there you couldn't have the radio on for 20 minutes without hearing this song, and then it completely fell out of people's collective consciousness. Do you live near Ohio by any chance? Was this maybe some kind of localized event in the summer of 1990? Ponderous, man.

  • oh great, thanks a lot, now i have to look up that damn thing too. yes, monster in my pants is a real song, i remember it too. rofl

  • This song is great.....

  • Could someone out there in LALALALALALAND please upload 2nu - Zend lullaby.. I been looking for that song for ages... Thanks in Advance.....

  • This song has been going through my head since it came out, but I could not find it anywhere....this has been so much help now i can finally get it out of my head THANKS!!!!

  • Anyone ever notice how the BEST SONGS have the least views? Such a shame, but at least the irony is positive because we choose to follow the majority & listen to crappy songs like ''Friday'' by Rebecca Black or ''Hold It Against Me'' by Britney Spears.

  • Finally. Nobody else I know remembers this song. I can now prove I'm not crazy.

  • ha ha! this video fits the song

  • Awesome!! I tried to get this played on the radio a few years ago and the DJ had NO CLUE what I was talking about LOL!! Thanks for posting this!!

  • This is much better than the official video.

  • Drugs R bad, m'kay!

  • I have this cassette single, this just makes me want to pull it out and put it on my iPod! Strangely fantastic song!

  • Tooooo funny I miss this song!I recorded this off the radio once!

  • I thought I was the only one who remembered this song. I remember in middle school this song was the number one song on the radio for like 2 weeks. Every time I am talking to people and the topic goes to "remember that song" I always mention this song and people look at me like some kind of freak. Glad to see I'm not the only one who remembers this. Here's another one, does anyone remember the song "Theres a monster in my pants". Its a real song I swear!

  • @JisNUMEROuno Sure, that was Fred Schneider from the B-52s.

  • @JisNUMEROuno My college roommates used to think I was a freak for listening to classics like this but music is subjective so no one can't tell you what's good or not & plus real music is what an individual chooses to embrace his or her own & not rely on the mass to say it's good.

  • @JisNUMEROuno It was "there's a PARTY in my pants" by Fred Schneider of the B52's. Close though. (And yes, I know that song, too.

  • @JisNUMEROuno LOL I was stationed in Germany at the time, Was an MP conducting Protective Services for the 32d AADCOM General. My buddies and I would call in and request this song for whoever was on duty at the time.. It was a VERY ponderous job.

  • @JisNUMEROuno HA mann the operator..... ponderous!!!!

  • what makes this awesomer is that i still have the cassette single for this and i listen to it on a regular basis! but i'm so glad people do remember it cuz everyone i ask thinks i'm crazy when i describe it. awesome job on the video!

  • Comment removed

  • I've been trying to find this song for a while, and NOBODY I've asked seems to remember it! They look at me like I'm crazy, so I'm glad to find it so I can prove I'm NOT! (At least, not when it comes to this, lol!)

  • I love it! That's 2 E-Props for you!

  • I remember this song from 5th grade. I used to wait for it on the radio every night. He had a follow up called spaz attack or something

  • I seriously was going crazy when I heard this ON THE RADIO as a child. I had never heard this stuff on the radio and it had my total attention. 2Nu was truly original.

  • I really liked this song back in the day too! Thanks for posting.

  • that was GREAT!

  • Genius timing on the squeaking shoes!

  • thank you...this song was played a few times in the 90s on wdre on long island,i never was able to find it since misplacing my cd of this, thanks again for posting this...

  • i had this on a cassette. i had no idea who it was or anything, i just listened to it all the time.

  • 2Nu is the artist - i remember this song back in the day. I always thought that it wassome kind of ad or promo and not a real song. It is deffinitely a classic. And one of the best things about youtube :)

  • Who sings this song?

  • man thanks for making this this was one of my grandpas favorite sing he died when i was like 2

  • Brilliant, the off beat with the squeeking shoes at 2:04 where you step off the curb is perfect.

  • Pretty Cool.

Thought about this song today and had to see if SOMEONE had posted. Thanks

  • I would love it when this song came on the radio, but yes people thought I was crazy too becuz they never heard of it

  • Great video. I wonder if it were in black and white would make it more "dream-like"?

  • It took me years to find this song again, everyone I asked thought I was crazy. All I could remember was the squeaky shoes. LOL

  • I cant believe I found this song - no one I know has ever heard of it!

  • I love this song!!!1

  • "...and my shoes started to squeak" Love that part. Has anybody found Frank's Chair? I really like that narrative.

    Check out my vid; "Why" on my channel;

  • Golf-clap for you. Well played Sir, well played.

  • I haven't heard this song in ages. Very nice interpretation of the song bro, kudos!!!

  • I was born in the late 1980s, but my brother was born in 1979 and my sister in 1980. They kept quoting this to my other brother and me, and so I felt sometimes like I grew up with it. This is hilarious!

  • LOL!! My Best Friend and I have been quoting this song since 1991...and nobody EVER knows what we are talking about. Sooo excited to find it here and on iTunes! Great Job!

  • thanks what a cool song

  • Awesome Vid!! great concept to go with a great song!

  • I love this song. I haven't heard it in so long, thought about it today, youtubed it, and here it was :) Great Video for the song!!!

  • Of course I've heard of it. Jock Blaney, the guy doing the vocals, has done (and continues to do) a lot of radio ads for local businesses ("Sweet Mama, it's amazing!"). Although 2NU is Seattle-based, radio stations out here (such as OK95 in Kennewick) had helped promote the material. Of course, it was unnerving to hear some of the lyrics to "2 Outta 3" being used to sell spas some time after that. Good to see they're still going.

  • my dad showed it to me, i've been planning to make an animation that goes to it, and finally i have the song! thankyou!

  • Perfect video for this song!

  • I was a strip joint dj when this came out, There's a weird routine. Nice work.

  • whenever i mention this song to someone, they think i'm crazy. i was a junior in high school when it came out, singing it during geometry

  • The same thing happened to me!! Everyone insisted I made it up.. finally have the proof..

  • Awesome job dude...I always thought about doing something like this, but never took the intiative...I love this song, but it drives the wife nutz. Maybe that's one reason why I like it so much!

  • Holy crap! This is the one song I've been looking for for 5 years! I remember it from when I was a kid on the radio. I was always thought it was called the Dream Song.

  • Wow...I didn't expect to see any 2nu on YouTube!

  • Thank YouTube. I looked for this song online years ago and couldn't find much. So good to hear it again. And a great vid :)

  • amen brother/sister!

I never saw the clip before, love like the first time you see saftey dance and get weired out by the way the girl and guy seem to um act...

  • Wow! I know I can have weird taste in music, but NO ONE seems to have heard of this song. I quote from it and get strange looks. Just glad to know I'm not the only one who remembers it.

  • I remember this song from when I lived in seattle. Was performed by a dj at kplz 101-5 fm. That was an awesome time

    Brings me back to 1991...

    Do you have "Frank's Chair" . ???

  • So I said to a gal at work "That's ponderous, man, REALLY ponderous" and she looked at me like I was crazy. I asked everyone else in the office if they'd ever heard the song...no one had. I'm so glad I came across your video! Now everyone has heard the song and seen your video. Awesome!

  • i used to hear this on WHFS waaaaay back in the day. thanks for posting. i ask people all the time if they've heard it. few have.

I was in a bad mood... THEN I found your video....tks a lot

  • I am so glad someone has found this one! I too have been searching for it for years and nobody else knows what I am talking about!

    Takes me back years!!

  • Exactly. Every single word. OMG. I have been haunted by this song for... eeek... 15 years now? Everyone acts like I'm nuts... no one knew what song I was talking about.

  • i was half asleep in the car and this song came on the radio, and i half thought i was dreaming it lol.

  • I actually own this CD. Bought it back in the early 90's. It was put out by Atlantic in 1991. Video is great, totally fits the song.

  • Check out "a father's day" also by 2nu. Won't find it here, but you should try to find it...

  • I remember it for sure! Totally classic!!!

  • I think I remember this song being written by a DJ in the DFW area. Is that correct?

  • no way- I remember this- good job!

  • Also great job on your video. Love it! Especially the mouthing of the mysterious telephone man at 2:42! Brilliant.

  • AWESOME!!!! I remember this song from high school. Glad to see someone out there appreciates it. A+

  • A+. I remember this tune in early 1991 when we had just invaded Iraq. I was 30 and going thru lots of stuff.

  • Love this song. Fresh and inventive.

  • I do like this but I like count em up queek better. I bought this cd a few years ago, ha, when it came out.

  • Great video for one of my favorite songs of that era.

By the way, has anyone ever told you that you look like David Rasche ("Sledge Hammer", from the 80s show of the same name)?

  • That was great! I was thinking about that song today so I thought I would see if YouTube had it and here you are. Very well done!

  • I bought a cassette single (remember those?) of this song waaay back in the day. Still have it. Found the CD of it a few years back, as well. One of my favorite songs to play for people who *THINK* they've heard them all.

    Hey Bryan-thanks for the video!

  • Oh god, I remember this from when I was a young kid back in the mid-late 80s....

  • Dude, you have such a classic face. I don't know what it is, but-damn!

I can't believe I found this on here. YouTube DOES have everything.

  • i cant help but imagin someone driving by seeing some random guy walking down the street holding a camrea in his face lipsinking. lol.

  • Not bad. You're already more talented than half the people who end up on American Idol, and you're not even singing that song. LOL !

  • wow...memorieeeees.

  • You've reminded me of my friend Dave.We used to try and outMix tape one another. He made one for me that had this, and Bronzki Beat on it.I wonder if he is still alive?

  • haha you look like a cleaner version of bruce campbell

  • JOB WELL DONE!!

  • I do remember this song. It used to be on heavy rotation on this really strange little radio station we had back then, which was a mixture of alternative rock and random weirdness. I loved it! But when the station died, it seemed the song did as well. I was thinking back on that song the other day, but all I could remember was the oobobabalooching part and "then the horns kicked in." So I googled that phrase, and that's how I found it!

  • YES! THIS SONG!

  • WOW

I have also been looking for this as well...

Thank you so much, because now I know I am not crazy

  • I have been looking for this song forever!! People thought I was crazy when I would talk about it. Now I can prove I'm not! Thanks!

  • Ditto. This tune was in the back recesses of my mind for many years. Then I found out the artist of the song, but it was no longer in print. Youtube made my day when I typed in the artist and song title, and lo and behold!! It was there. My search of sixteen years finally came to an end. The last time I heard this on the radio was in early 1991. Found it on youtube in December, 2007

  • 1st heard this song on WHFS eons ago. anybody know anyplace online i can get a copy?

  • I've tried record stores and "This Is Ponderous" is no longer in print; unless something changed between two years ago and now.

  • This is ponderous man.. reeaallyy.. ponderous. Have loved that song for what seems like decades. Good work on the vid =)

  • Thanks for posting this video! I heard it on the radio yesterday when they were doing an all 80's weekend! Completely takes me back to being 19 and having the greatest summer ever! Thanks!!!

  • That was ponderous...and pretty sweet. Brings me back to my high school years.

  • Brings me back to when I just turned 30, and liked a woman named Vickie.
