maaaan this song crazy twact out its about haing multiple personality syndrome and where he goes when his other person inside him takes over fuckin nuts hahahahaha
Damn you know how long I have been trying to find this song! I mean for a good time there I thought I might be going bloody crazy & the song was just part of a fuzzy dream I had way back then! You know how for some the 80's was just a fuzzy time of their life? :)
SHOULDN'T YOU BE AT WORK?!? Then My Shoes began to squeak! (It's a classic strangweird song) :-)
Thanks for throwing this on YT its PONDEROUS man Really Ponderous!
@codex09 Hey I sympathize with you. I first heard this in January of 1991 and for the longest time..... no radio station played this. I didn't know the artist / song but it was kool. Finally I typed in "This Is Ponderous" on youtube and lo and behold............... it was here. So glad I got two, video youtube versions of this.
I had the exact same experience, Bryan. It's so weird because it wasn't underground at all, for a while there you couldn't have the radio on for 20 minutes without hearing this song, and then it completely fell out of people's collective consciousness. Do you live near Ohio by any chance? Was this maybe some kind of localized event in the summer of 1990? Ponderous, man.
This song has been going through my head since it came out, but I could not find it anywhere....this has been so much help now i can finally get it out of my head THANKS!!!!
Anyone ever notice how the BEST SONGS have the least views? Such a shame, but at least the irony is positive because we choose to follow the majority & listen to crappy songs like ''Friday'' by Rebecca Black or ''Hold It Against Me'' by Britney Spears.
I thought I was the only one who remembered this song. I remember in middle school this song was the number one song on the radio for like 2 weeks. Every time I am talking to people and the topic goes to "remember that song" I always mention this song and people look at me like some kind of freak. Glad to see I'm not the only one who remembers this. Here's another one, does anyone remember the song "Theres a monster in my pants". Its a real song I swear!
@JisNUMEROuno My college roommates used to think I was a freak for listening to classics like this but music is subjective so no one can't tell you what's good or not & plus real music is what an individual chooses to embrace his or her own & not rely on the mass to say it's good.
@JisNUMEROuno LOL I was stationed in Germany at the time, Was an MP conducting Protective Services for the 32d AADCOM General. My buddies and I would call in and request this song for whoever was on duty at the time.. It was a VERY ponderous job.
what makes this awesomer is that i still have the cassette single for this and i listen to it on a regular basis! but i'm so glad people do remember it cuz everyone i ask thinks i'm crazy when i describe it. awesome job on the video!
I've been trying to find this song for a while, and NOBODY I've asked seems to remember it! They look at me like I'm crazy, so I'm glad to find it so I can prove I'm NOT! (At least, not when it comes to this, lol!)
I seriously was going crazy when I heard this ON THE RADIO as a child. I had never heard this stuff on the radio and it had my total attention. 2Nu was truly original.
thank you...this song was played a few times in the 90s on wdre on long island,i never was able to find it since misplacing my cd of this, thanks again for posting this...
2Nu is the artist - i remember this song back in the day. I always thought that it wassome kind of ad or promo and not a real song. It is deffinitely a classic. And one of the best things about youtube :)
I was born in the late 1980s, but my brother was born in 1979 and my sister in 1980. They kept quoting this to my other brother and me, and so I felt sometimes like I grew up with it. This is hilarious!
LOL!! My Best Friend and I have been quoting this song since 1991...and nobody EVER knows what we are talking about. Sooo excited to find it here and on iTunes! Great Job!
Of course I've heard of it. Jock Blaney, the guy doing the vocals, has done (and continues to do) a lot of radio ads for local businesses ("Sweet Mama, it's amazing!"). Although 2NU is Seattle-based, radio stations out here (such as OK95 in Kennewick) had helped promote the material. Of course, it was unnerving to hear some of the lyrics to "2 Outta 3" being used to sell spas some time after that. Good to see they're still going.
Awesome job dude...I always thought about doing something like this, but never took the intiative...I love this song, but it drives the wife nutz. Maybe that's one reason why I like it so much!
Holy crap! This is the one song I've been looking for for 5 years! I remember it from when I was a kid on the radio. I was always thought it was called the Dream Song.
I lOVED IT!!!!!!!!!! I had no clue the video was like that though :) My nephew and I liked the song and then, haha, i have no idea who else does cept people here :)) AWESOME!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I have been looking for this song forever! Count me in the group of people who gets strange looks for bringing up any reference to this.
WOW just thought of this and had to search on Goggle (u know what I mean) with the only line I could remember - shoes began to squeak and it came straight up. I never saw the clip before, love like the first time you see saftey dance and get weired out by the way the girl and guy seem to um act...
Wow! I know I can have weird taste in music, but NO ONE seems to have heard of this song. I quote from it and get strange looks. Just glad to know I'm not the only one who remembers it.
So I said to a gal at work "That's ponderous, man, REALLY ponderous" and she looked at me like I was crazy. I asked everyone else in the office if they'd ever heard the song...no one had. I'm so glad I came across your video! Now everyone has heard the song and seen your video. Awesome!
Exactly. Every single word. OMG. I have been haunted by this song for... eeek... 15 years now? Everyone acts like I'm nuts... no one knew what song I was talking about.
I bought a cassette single (remember those?) of this song waaay back in the day. Still have it. Found the CD of it a few years back, as well. One of my favorite songs to play for people who *THINK* they've heard them all.
You've reminded me of my friend Dave.We used to try and outMix tape one another. He made one for me that had this, and Bronzki Beat on it.I wonder if he is still alive?
I do remember this song. It used to be on heavy rotation on this really strange little radio station we had back then, which was a mixture of alternative rock and random weirdness. I loved it! But when the station died, it seemed the song did as well. I was thinking back on that song the other day, but all I could remember was the oobobabalooching part and "then the horns kicked in." So I googled that phrase, and that's how I found it!
Ditto. This tune was in the back recesses of my mind for many years. Then I found out the artist of the song, but it was no longer in print. Youtube made my day when I typed in the artist and song title, and lo and behold!! It was there. My search of sixteen years finally came to an end. The last time I heard this on the radio was in early 1991. Found it on youtube in December, 2007
Thanks for posting this video! I heard it on the radio yesterday when they were doing an all 80's weekend! Completely takes me back to being 19 and having the greatest summer ever! Thanks!!!

Not bad. You're already more talented than half the people who end up on American Idol, and you're not even singing that song. LOL !

I've tried record stores and "This Is Ponderous" is no longer in print; unless something changed between two years ago and now.

Brings me back to when I just turned 30, and liked a woman named Vickie.
